The Banks & Shilton image would make a better statue. Really we ought to make a much bigger deal of the latter, genuinely one of the greats of the game, 1374 appearances! 2nd of all time, first until pretty recently (although Ronaldo will probably overtake him).

I will always be thankful for the great memories King Power gave me as a fan, but to be honest throughout their entire tenure they never really sat well with me. In the successful years like many you had to think "how can I complain, this is incredible", but in retrospect the niggles were always there, like the way Top hogged the trophy on the day we lifted the title. 

We've ended up as i expected we would. Just never expected what Vichai gave us.

As much as I agree with the sentiment, this would probably be a PR own goal among a large section of the fanbase.

I just don't want some dodgy Dubai bloke. I've worked with some different football clubs at lower levels and I'd much rather something closer to the community that is sustainable than what the last 5 years produced.

As much as I'd like to think that the protests made a difference, given I was part of them, I'm not so sure that they did. I think King Power are reaching a scenario where their own financial situation is precarious to a point where they can no longer afford to keep us.

But there's no such thing as a ' good ' billionaire. I've worked for very rich men , and you don't get to that point without stepping on plenty of people on your way up. These people definitely aren't saints. There's another point to hoarding that much personal wealth but I'll leave that for another day. 

 

So whilst I may prefer an owner that doesn't have blood on its hands from some corrupt regime , all of these guys have done some pretty dirty shit over the years and king power will be the same. I just think it's naive of some people to think these are wonderful people, like you say , sports washing at it's finest. 

 

For me , the fan owned model would be the best for clubs , but I realise at this point that's equally naive of me to wish for. 

I lived in Berlin for a bit and loved the 50+1 model they have over there. The Union Berlin fans over there donated there own blood when they were in the 3rd division to pay for the club to survive. The relationship between fans and club is what it should be over here.
