He’s taken us from 5/92 to at best 45/92 next season whilst having our highest profile, highest revenue, best facilities and some of our best ever players. Now we’re on the brink of financial catastrophe but somehow it could be worse?

Even with the stadium name, we have the same anyway, the only difference being that the King Power Stadium sounds better than the Sports Direct Arena. If King power had a trashy sounding name as a company instead of King Power or Mike Ashley had had a better sounding brand name than Sports Direct then there would be no difference. It is still naming the stadium after the owners company.

That is obviously all guess work, but when he speaks about his dad’s legacy I just couldn’t see that being part of the agenda. That said, how low that valuation realistically gets before he would decline it is obviously anyone’s guess, as is how high a potential buyer would want to go.

I think they'd let it go for whatever they can get as it's likely to be a loss anyway, even peanuts as long as it's undisclosed. They'll want to maintain some degree of pride.

My point was less around the specifics, KP have subtly done lots of things historically bad owners have done in a death by a thousand's cuts sort of way. What I was getting at was our owners just haven't really had any sustained negative coverage, Ashley wasn't a good owner but he wasn't as bad for Newcastle as Top has been for us - which stems from our fanbase being so pliant, partially because the media have never really scrutinised how much of a shitshow it is.

I know its growing by the day but would it be realistic for a middle eastern billionaire company (or any billionaire) to buy the club and pay off all the debt?

 

I know there is "potential" for this club with the stadium/seagrave etc but how long would it take for a buyer to make the money back and start to make a profit?

5 year plan if they manage to get us to the prem in the 3/4th season it would be worthwhile you would think for the investor
