Why do people seem intent on making out that Susan Whelan was some infallible beacon of hope?

She was crap n all lol

Because she was the real Brains behind King Power and is highly respected in her field.

Her present job is training entrepreneurs for the Irish Government. That should tell you something about her ability.

What she training them to do?

I just know we're going to start the season playing in the Unnamed Middle Eastern Firm Stadium.

It'll be great to go down the UMEFS to watch us play Bromley.

Brainwave: seduce the royal family into giving a monopoly on duty free. No competition and favourable rates.

Not sure it translates to having the brains to pull this club back from the mess it is in (which she played a huge role in, or at the very least was willing to stand by and watch without having the morals to take a stand and walk away).

”Training entrepreneurs for the Irish government” sounds like the kind of thing people that have absolutely no idea how big business works would think sounds impressive.

It’s going to take time to get out of this division if king power doesn’t open the check book and we’ve got no money

Why would we want them to open the cheque book when our biggest problem is the out of control spending?

Ask Sheffield Wednesday

Nope. Doesn't wash anymore. This is worse, and I long suspected it was.

Even some of their fans are saying it now.

Yep, and we're rocketing to Wednesday levels of disaster. When you think it can't get any worse, it does.

The only difference is Chansari was a power mad sociopath and Top seems a decent enough guy who is incompetent and totally out of his depth. It will end up with the same result though.

Chansiri is awful and none of this is a defence of him, but he never took over a top half Premier League club.

The level of decline under one single owner - I don't think in my lifetime there has been anything worse in England. Excluding of course the clubs who actually did go under. But we have fallen far quicker than Wednesday, even if theirs was indefensible.

Might depend what the wine budget is.

Lets not revise what’s happened, she was here for a lot of the mistakes.

You only have to look aT those on the fringe of the club( who don’t have non disclosure agreements) and who they have been repping ( Susan) to see where the problems are

Would be a brave and unusual move

To bring in a CEO that lost hundreds of millions spending more money than her business made, breaking every financial rule her competition rules she helped create (resulting in sporting penalties that she created)  and openly refusing commercial and ticket revenue streams.

That 8% interest rate is awful, probably says something about our credit worthiness!

Not really, it’s market rate when you take into account base rate and margin.

what is the total of our debt?

I know its growing by the day but would it be realistic for a middle eastern billionaire company (or any billionaire) to buy the club and pay off all the debt?

I know there is "potential" for this club with the stadium/seagrave etc but how long would it take for a buyer to make the money back and start to make a profit?

I would imagine there is zero chance of turning a profit in the next 5 years. Adding value due to promotion to the prem maybe, but that will require a large out lay. I think its pie in the sky that anyone is paying a large sum for us, it would make no sense what so ever unless you are a fan. Even our assets like the training ground cost millions to maintain and the stadium generates next to nothing compared to the bigger clubs. If you could get us for 100 million max then we have potential, anything more would be crazy.

I think it absolutely reflects the risk the bank see moving forwards

no business our size should be paying 8% on borrowings

Even in a well leveraged business you would be lucky at 8% - I'm not sure you know what you're talking about but this is absolutely market rate, if not slightly better!

Well, i largely admit the chances of a business just paying everything is limited, but i also think its worth thinking about how a well run outfit could manage us rather than looking at how KP do it.

It would be possible to generate revenue from the training ground, just right now we chose not to. We are historically a successful club, and can be much more marketable than we currently are. We have a bigger ground than a lot of PL clubs, with planning to extend with additional facilities, where more use can be made out of it. A well run outfit can do a lot more with out club, but the real issue will be if it makes economic sense to do so.

I mean, if you want to play that game, most Wednesday fans I interact with now are talking like we're in the same boat they were 2 to 3 years ago. Is there any sign of course correction to fix that? nope. This will get as bad as Chansiri if the Nepo baby doesn't sell

For football clubs it’s not ridiculous- fairs

we have seen our rate go up from 8.02 to 8.3 but that’s not a huge increase. 8.3 is on the highest side for Macquarie secured loan but not by much

Clubs I’d guess have a bigger fan Base than Leicester City.

1. Manchester United

2. Manchester City

3. Liverpool

4. Chelsea

5. Arsenal

6. Tottenham

7. Everton

8. Nottingham Forest

9. Newcastle

10. Aston Villa

11. Leeds United

12. West Ham

I’d imagine we are likely 13th-ish, with the likes of Wolves, Sunderland etc

With a modicum of success Sheff weds would be well up that list.
