Our first 11 in league 1 is stronger than last season, only player that has left that would be our best player this season (even that is up for debate) is Fatawu. Page is better than Monga IMO, the team we have currently on paper in a top 10 championship team in my opinion.

IF we go up this season, maybe make one of the loans perm, JJ, braybrooke and Page would have had a full year playing together,  I think we would be a formidable outfit. One step at a time though

I don't know if it's better. Jordan James's goal contributions from central midfield was genuinely impressive. The best players we had last season i.e. James and Fatawu possess more quality than our best players this season. I'd certainly say our team looks more balanced now though.

I forgot about James somehow. Yes more balanced, defence is better and striker options for sure

Thought he was great today, just what we need. Someone to look after the kids, good on the ball, he’s got quick feet and can put his foot in. Like how he looks to have the ball off the centre backs and then tries to give it to Page or Braybrooke. Scored as well, 8/10 for me.

I thought he did well today. Added a bit of composure and nouse and I was pleased to see her was still quick enough and mobile. He also passed the ball around quite cleverly. Most of all he looked a proper CDM and will enable Braybrooke page and Alves etc to do what they do best. A good debut.

Struck me as well.

So used to having midfielders who do absolutely **** all.

This bloke actually moves off the ball and constantly monitored the space.

It's basic central midfielder behaviour and tells you everything about ours over the last few years.

So you miss Soumare?

To think we've signed this chap on a free in League One and as a Premier League club spent around £40m on Skipp and Soumare.

I'm struggling for a better example to summarise the failures of our transfer business in recent years than the signing of John Lundstram as a League One club being a better option on a free than what £40m bought us.

Different leagues and all that but would any one of us want Skipp or Soumare in this team?

No one ever wanted Skipp in the first place
