I do quite like the look of this (other than the un-droppable Thomas, obvs), but we have 4 number 10's on the books, and we're suggesting not using any of them :teehee:

To be fair, Alves, Page AND Howell all see their best positions as 10's so we are actually playing 3 of them. Lol

Oxford are a mess - what I will say though, is we need to rotate.

I think we will go:

                  McCarthy
Aluko Souttar O'Hora(Maybe Kanga) Thomas
         Lundstrom Page
Burns         Cullen        Watson
                    Riis

The small part of me that thrives on chaos kinda WANTS him to start BDCR up top just for the reaction on here.

It’s all fun and games until you realise that now we have riis BDCR will now be taking minutes form Alves or Howell…. Or even page or Sammy 🙃

I'd bring O'Hora straight in for Thomas but other than that, I like the look of this.

To be fair, its a mix of what I want it to be, and what I think is realistic. If it was left to me, i would play 2 strikers, but that won't happen.

Its like when people put that Ravizzoli in their line up over McCarthy. Never in a month of Sundays would that realistically happen.

But yeah, back to the team I put up, I would like one of the new CB's (ideally O'Hora) come in for Thomas, but i just don't think he will.

I still stick by the my opinion that it would be Harsh on Thomas to be dropped after looking very comfortable and good at CB..

I can’t see any changes to the back line after two clean sheets in a row.

Funny thing is, it's actually a braver move for Martin to stick with Thomas at centre back. If we lose and he has an absolute shocker, he's far more likely to get pelters for it than if we lose playing with centre backs at centre back.

From RMs conference today it would suggest it might be too early for Lundstrum and Doyle match fitness wise, but Ohora and Riis have a chance.

Mccarthy

JJ

Souttar

OHora

Thomas

Page

Braybrooke

BDR

Burns

Riis

Alves

Would be my guess if thats the case. Nice to have some options at least.

I think that's key - I AM excited for these games, but it's because the squad is effectively brand new.

It doesn't let King Power off the hook, and it's a genuine disgrace that we find ourselves here. They went completely against fans' wishes to appoint Martin and a few astute signings in the third division - somewhere that we absolutely deserve to be but never in a million years should have found ourselves - are not going to change the fact that they've brought utter shame and the threat of financial ruin on our city and club, and they should leave as soon as possible.

But on the pitch, I'm hopeful that things are looking up from here, and it's genuinely exciting to see how the likes of Alves, Braybrooke, Joseph and the other young guns will develop from here. And as for Martinball itself, I've been pleasantly surprised with what we're producing once we stop pissing around with it in our own box. That is largely down to the new faces though - they're lively and haven't been corrupted by the poison at the club over the past few years. Simple things like Page turning and running forward with the ball, or Howell taking on and beating a man, are things I was starting to doubt I'd ever see a Leicester player do again. They're absolute basics, but we've been so starved of simple positive football for a half decade at this point.

The way we're currently playing would be ten times harder to watch if the squad overhaul hadn't happened, as has already been proven when losers like Skipp and Okoli have been playing - and we're still seeing it with Reid's baffling continued inclusion, which is hopefully now limited with Riis here.

So yeah, bring on Oxford. For all our sins, and however hard it is to get hyped up for third tier football, we've got a team worth getting behind now.

Best thing I have read on here for a while.

i am Anti KP and will not go until they’re gone though!
