Leicestershire County Cricket Club

Logically the CC should be the game thats saved during the Summer. If any can be.

Crowds are low, very low, stadiums quite big so safe distance can be kept. Easily to be honest.

It makes a loss for the ECB so with not much sport about it can be pushed in the summer even televised. Crickets not that close contact compared to most sports so in a good few months who knows!

Could be that  CC saves the season.

T20 and Blast no chance of being played surely? Any crowd into the 1000s has to be a no go?

Without the crowds T20 or the Blast is pointless, a flop, CC could be the answer.

Take care all

Thing is though  most counties apart from  a couple lose money  from hosting championship   matches so they won't really be that fussed about matches not being played. The Blast however is a lifeline for Clubs so they will be desperate for that to go ahead.Lets hope things are improved by July the club host 2 sell out Concents around that time as well

True but they may claw some money back from CC if it was televised?

Cant see a hope in hell of the blast or going ahead unless its behind closed doors. If it is it wont help the counties revenue any way.

At least the CC offeres some cricket. Could put 4 games on at a time on the red button at this rate.

Heard today King Power are sponsoring/giving Leicestershire a significant financial boost 300k plus.

Anyone else hear this or is it just rubbish?

If they are fair play. Sporting Capital.

Don’t understand your opinion at all. If it was true (which I doubt) it would be a fantastic gesture from Top.

Yes cant think its a bad thing. How can it be? As you say may be rubbish but who knows?

Usually some truth in rumours. Probably the bit where county approached him!

I certainly would.

I understand Baker's POV - there's a uniqueness in County Cricket that it's not dominated by companies or owners. Equally, multi-sport ownership in the UK hasn't gone well in the past - looking currently at Bristol and Sir John Hall's time with the Newcastle clubs.

I think if the King Power group were to invest in the club it would only benefit them for the future, lets be honest we have been regressing on the past 10/15 years. We all know the investment would be huge help but they would also implement a structure for sustained long term success like what they have done for the football club.

if that means seeing King Power plastered all over the ground, team wear and website it would be small price to play and doesn't seem to have affected the football club, who have embraced it to its maximum effect.

A few of our fans seem to take issue with this stuff for some reason.

It'd be great if King Power invested in our cricket and rugby teams.

It would strengthen their links with the city of Leicester and make it less likely they'd get bored, cash in and pizz off.

The more they want to invest in the city is perfectly fine with me - and if it means their branding becomes more noticeable around the city then so be it.
