I know what you mean, although on the other hand we do need a Marxist-Leninist revolution, one that applies Gramsci's theories on hegemony.

We need a socialist vanguard that will lead us to take control of the commanding heights of the economy.

I didn't understand it myself, Buce, and I wrote it. I've always liked the sound of Gramsci, though (never read him).

Doesn't particularly annoy me, but does anyone find the current trend of lads on Facebook making witty comments like "is this the one you've been telling us about?" "so this is the girl from the other night" etc whenever their mates become 'friends' with a girl a bit odd?

Whatever helmets write and share articles like this. I've seen it shared onto my Facebook 4 times today. Not only is it a crock of shit, it reads as if hashtags are important AND it's also from February.

 

Folks are of course more inclined to feel horror and give any kind of response if such an attack is made closer to them rather than halfway around the world, of course. And at a base level it reduces the whole thing to a numbers game, which is pretty awful.

 

But, at the same time, the simple fact is that far more folks are dying over there than here and there is far more global attention (not just here) towards the few that die here than the many that die over there.
