MPH Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Each position higher up the league this season will get an extra 1.25 million pounds. Pretty sure the players will get pushed all the way.
Gerard Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Adrian Durham's a clown but if we show the same bad attitude towards the FA Cup then he'll be spot on this time. No need to do it in the FA Cup as it's a Saturday fixture tournament. It's a boring weekend when the 4th round is on and we're not in it and no league match.
Sleepy Fox Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 What is so boring about finsihing mid-tabel or better in the Premier League? I thought that was the goal.
fuchsntf Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 he's right tbf, we'll be (hopefully) safe by christmas, and probably out the fa cup by february. what are we going to do for the next 3 months? You wuz. We ,....if you hadnt noticed are playing in the PL, we are now in only our 2nd season after 10yrs struggling to get back to it. I believe it was Rodney Marsh, (not the originator) who consistently on Sky said, ' Be careful what you wish for ' For one if we can keep the PL status, playing GOOD football thats the season target achieved. If a a cup run or even win is achieved thats a bonus.Attempting , trying for a higher league position must be the continual seasonal target. It seems even now, the expectations are being set rather high.Or fans love stirring the preverbial sh*t '
stox259 Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Who even cares what Adrian Durham thinks? His opinions to me are about as valuable as my mate Tim's. Tim by the way is a scientologist and genuinely believes we are descendant from aliens and is the sort of guy who thinks the Matrix was a documentary. I tend not to worry what the crazies think of Leicester.
Steven Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/oct/29/premier-league-manchester-united-arsenal Discuss. Leicester City and Jamie Vardy are a good story and they have been involved in some exciting comebacks to keep their run of results going. But does a team such as Leicester threatening the European positions indicate a healthy level of competition within the Premier League, or is it a sign that everyone else’s standards have fallen?

AKCJ Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/oct/29/premier-league-manchester-united-arsenal Discuss. Standards have clearly fallen. Doesn't mean it's not a cunty article. I didn't see these sprout up regarding Palace or West Ham. We're just an unfashionable non-London club and we have to deal with it. 1
Dan Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 I don't think you can really call us serious contenders until we're still in this kind of position after playing more of the big boys. Granted, a team in 5th in their second year up is pretty remarkable. I do think that the standard of this league has dropped, but it still takes a lot to climb at the rate we have.
Wymsey Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Shows that money doesn't always guarantee competitiveness within a squad. A side with organisation, fight, desire, playing without any pressure from media etc - like us - is a side on the rise.
ScouseFox Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 bit of a shit little section about us, almost casts us off as if "yeah they're an exception to the boring rule but so what", but other than that he's right. this is a depressing, pathetic and downright awful league bar us. said so for a few years. quality, entertainment (on the whole) and enjoyment is surely at an all time low across the board, apart from us and probably west ham, although they'll lose a few games and andy carroll will start and they will want bilic sacked for disrespecting the west ham way soon.
EnglishOxide Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Standards have clearly fallen. Doesn't mean it's not a cunty article. I didn't see these sprout up regarding Palace or West Ham. We're just an unfashionable non-London club and we have to deal with it. Standards have not fallen, or if they have its certainly not that much. The top teams have hit a ceiling in terms of facilities, coaching and scouting. Everybody else has caught up, especially us when it comes to sports science and scouting. We are at the point where competition for the top players is so fierce that young players without any achievements under their belts are being snapped up for silly money as teams try to get the edge over the competition. There is no way we are going to see another Arsenal like invincibles season IMO.
CosbehFox Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/oct/29/premier-league-manchester-united-arsenal Discuss. Clickbait. It's got 22 pages of discussion already to which a high percentage defend us as an example of making this season exciting.
STUHILL Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 I think it's a mixture of standards falling but also the "smaller" clubs with more spending power are buying better players and holding on to theirs too. I used to find the Premiership boring as you could predict the results most weeks. This season is much more interesting because of it. Long may it continue! 1
Captain... Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/oct/29/premier-league-manchester-united-arsenal Discuss. It's not like we haven't beaten anyone unbeatable, a draw at home against Spurs is probably our "best" result, I know we beat West Ham away and Palace at home and both clubs are riding high, but they aren't a traditional big club. Each result taken as a stand alone result is unremarkable, apart from the Arsenal result which is the only one that actually stands out as an anomaly, based on the last 2 and a half years. What is impressive is the consistency and level we have been playing at, and the refusal to quit when we go behind, take away a couple of the last minute goals and we are mid table, but the desire and fight is what has set us apart from other clubs.
Babylon Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 (edited) http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/oct/29/premier-league-manchester-united-arsenal Discuss. What a stupid article, totally ignoring our bit it's this bit I find ridiculous "are Arsenal where they are because Chelsea and Manchester United have disappointed this season?", well yes they are... in the same way Ferguson only won 49 trophies at United because Liverpool disappointed for two decades. davieG Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Goalkeeping duo Kasper Schmeichel and Heurelho Gomes join Ben and Kammy in the Goals on Sunday studio this weekend to review Saturday's talking points. With Leicester in action against West Brom on Saturday afternoon and Watford facing the high-flying West Ham, Schmeichel and Gomes will join Ben and Kammy on the sofa to discuss their games as well as look back at Chelsea's clash against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
Electric Yetis Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Lawro has us down to lose 2-0 to West Brom. If you look at the league table should his predictions have all come true West Brom would be 5th with 5 wins and 5 draws!

Manini Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 He has a serious problem with us. He's been quite complimentary of us every time I've seen his comments? Like most pundits, I expect he's expecting our bubble to burst sooner rather than later (may happen, may not) so he's having a punt on that.

Don't think he likes us.
Corky Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Adrian Durham is a pointless sack of shite. Nothing he says should be taken seriously. Tosser. As for Lawro- bigger shock is that he's gone beyond his "I think this will be a thrashing but don't want to offend anyone so will say 2-0" prediction and gone for Man City to win 3-0!
Wymsey Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Apart from Ian Wright and Lineker, genuinely can't remember any well-known pundit/analyst praising Leicester yet this season. Think jealously springs to mind.

Manini Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 One hell of a bubble... We've been in it since March !! Exactly my point, people will be expecting us to loose sooner rather than later (I know we lost to Arsenal)
