MC Prussian Posted 17 June 2015 Posted 17 June 2015 Paulo "Renegade" Sousa quits FC Basel just one year into his tenure. He just isn't really interested in building something long-term, is he? Now rumoured to take over at Fiorentina. 2
J.Lisemore Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 Last I heard he was interested in the Sampdoria job while still in charge of Basel. Just seems to jump into the big clubs of different countries. Videoton, Tel Aviv, Basel etc. Going to Fiorentina would be a much greater challenge of his managerial capabilities.
frhuangshuhong2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 The top-10 of the fastest in the world: 1. Gareth Bale (Real Madrid): 36.9 km/h 2. Jürgen Damm (Pachuca): 35.23 km/h 3. Charl91 Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Yeah, fastest 10 players out of the about 30 that they looked at.
Footballwipe Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Except of course it's not a list of the "fastest players in the world," but merely a list of fast players. Unless these figures are just to be ignored completely? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2901692/Newcastle-midfielder-Moussa-Sissoko-Premier-League-s-fastest-player.html

J.Lisemore Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 So much for Hector Bellerin being the fastest then.
MC Prussian Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 If you believe EA Sports and FIFA, the top 20 in terms of (sprint) speed are 1. Mathis Bolly (Fortuna Düsseldorf) 2. Theo Walcott (Arsenal) 3. Jonathan Biabiany (free agent) 4. Pierre-Emerick Obameyang (Borussia Dortmund) 5. Dominic Oduro (Montreal Impact) 6. Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) 7. Cedrick Mabwati (Columbus Crew) 8. Fahad Al-Muwallad (Al-Ittihad) 9. Kekuta Manneh (Vancouver Whitecaps) 10. Ryo Miyaichi (FC St. Pauli) 11. Nnamdi Oduamadi (AC Milan) 12. Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich) 13. Raheem Sterling (Liverpool FC) 14. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) 15. Lucas (PSG) 16. Juan Cuadrado (Chelsea FC) 17. Gervinho (AS Roma) 18. Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) 19. Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders) 20. DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham Hotspur)
davieG Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 Fiorentina have appointed Paulo Sousa as their coach, the Serie A club said on Sunday. The 44-year-old former Portugal midfielder has managed Queens Park Rangers, Swansea City and Leicester City in England, and left the Swiss club Basel last week after a year in the job. “Fiorentina is delighted to announce that an agreement has today been reached with Paulo Sousa for him to become the new first-team coach,” Fiorentina said in a statement on their website. “Sousa will be in Florence tomorrow to complete the formalities.” Sousa, who won the Champions League as a player with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, replaces the former Italy striker Vincenzo Montella. Montella was sacked this month after leading Fiorentina to fourth place in Serie A and the semi-final of the Europa League. He was dismissed, according to the club, for a lack of respect and causing a breakdown in trust with the fans.
isaidno Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 Las Palmas promoted to La Liga. Beat Real Zaragoza 2-0 tonight in play offs and are promoted on away goals.
bovril Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 You know you're getting on when Paolo Sousa replaces Vincenzo Montella as Fiorentina coach.
Corky Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 Fully confident if we kept him we'd be in the Premier League now without functional midfielders like King and Drinkwater.
Kitchandro Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 How on earth has this bloke made a career in football management. He was an absolute disaster for us. Almost every thing he did was retarded.
I blame Wellens Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 How on earth has this bloke made a career in football management. He was an absolute disaster for us. Almost every thing he did was retarded. Got to be honest can't even remember anything he did or didn't do.
Wymsey Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 Wish he stayed longer with us. His team's style of play is fluid and sexy.
Ross-Kemp Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 He tried to play stylish fluid attacking football with this team: Weale Berner Hobbs Morrison Neilson Dyer Oakley King N'Gusessan Fryatt Campbell
Brooksy Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 Imagine our goal difference if Sousa has stayed the whole season
Wymsey Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 Question is whether Sousa is a better manager than Pearson. I'd think Sousa, but only just.
