howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Moves them down a tier with the irish and Scandinavians. Mickey Mouse leagues playing at the the wrong time of year.
MPH Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33028189 What do we all think about this? I think it'd be good for the Scottish league as they wouldn't be competing against the Premier League on TV and it would give the rest of us something to watch in the close season. I remember visiting fort william several years ago. It was May. Shop keeper said it had rained every single day so far that year. Of course the scots would be prefer summer football. Wouldnt work in England though. Plus it would make winter so much more miserable... watching a footy game used to be about the only thing worth getting out of bed for on a cold rainy saturdy afternoon...
AKCJ Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 I'm guessing that the big clubs voted against it considering it'd make their Champions League/Europa League campaigns a bit difficult.
Guest Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 They should consider playing all matches at 5am to tap the lucrative Chinese market.
Vacamion Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Oi. It's wall to wall blue sky and 20 something degrees up here. (Ok, that hardly ever happens)
Jordan Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Some of the benefits of switching to a summer schedule put forth by researchers include saving money on electricity and heating--no wonder a lot of Scottish clubs seem up for it!
Narborough_fox Posted 14 June 2015 Posted 14 June 2015 Looks like Rangers will be appointing Warbuton and Weir as their new management team. Good appointment.
sylofox Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Set to be named Glasgow Rangers 15th manager in 143yrs. Has any club had less as a rough average 1 every 9 years. MM must have done that in his time with us Think it is safe to say he has in his time as an owner Yes we know it is a 2 club league most of the time but the fact if you are not winning would push most clubs to change.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Rangers will dick it next year, all they ever needed was a competent manager and it's a great job for Warburton. I'd fancy Hibs to push them but I've got a feeling they'll have to do a lot of replacing - if they can keep the likes Allan, Cummings, Malonga and Handling there I'd fancy them to run Rangers close but surely one or two will be off?

I think Redknapp was only West Ham's 8th manager. They've probably had eight since then though.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 June 2015 Author Posted 20 June 2015 Scottish sides in the top tier, aren't as bad as people try to make out. Iv'e seen some very good football up there, over the past few seasons.
Mark_w Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 If Waggy goes to Rangers he's leaving my avatar for good, Waggy Watch is over and I'll cry myself to sleep for weeks. First Nigel, now this shit.

Mark_w Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 It's not happened yet. And it wouldn't be a great move for him, not even close, he'd be much better off staying at Wigan and hoping to earn himself a spot in the starting line-up when they get back to the Championship. The SPL is a tip and Rangers are skint, it'd be a stupid career move if he did go there.
Stevosevic Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 I think the appeal of being able to play for a club infront of 40k is still there. It would be for me anyway, it would top playing in League one personally.
rico Posted 20 July 2015 Posted 20 July 2015 RANGERS MEDICALS FOR WIGAN DUO Wigan Athletic duo Martyn Waghorn and James Tavernier are training with Rangers, according to Sky sources. We understand the pair are also set to undergo medicals ahead of a potential move to Ibrox.
Stevosevic Posted 20 July 2015 Posted 20 July 2015 Playing in front of 40k people beats playing in league one for Wigan imo, regardless of standard. Rangers have a chance of getting back to the SPL this season, if so, he'll be playing in old firms and perhaps competing for trophies - again beats Wigan in league one.
Stevosevic Posted 20 July 2015 Posted 20 July 2015 Waghorn scored 12 goals in his debut season for us as a 19year old. I would have predicted him to have a better career than he is having. The Horse's Mouth Posted 20 July 2015 Posted 20 July 2015 I do feel really bad for Waghorn, as I feel we're pretty complicit in his career falling like a stone like it has done. But who knows, in a couple years time if he's still there he could be playing in Europe so good luck to him
