Guest Bilo Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Sorry about the double post, it's been so long since I've posted on here I've forgotten what to do. Lloyd has brought me out of FT retirement! As you were.... Welcome back!
Soar Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Who do you think is the fastest. Llyod Dyer Jamie Vardy Jeff Schlupp
C-man Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 He's got 37, 28 in the league, 2 in the FA Cup and 7 in the League Cup. I was going to say that 28 seemed too few... thanks!
Danno Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Who do you think is the fastest. Llyod Dyer Jamie Vardy Jeff Schlupp Apparently De Laet is the quickest, although not 100% sure
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Lloyd Dyer continues to proove what Ive said all along..simple as that. From apperantly being finished away at Derby to sudden appreciation shows a knee-jerk lack of knowledge. Not all on here but a lot had this opinion(you know whho you are). There will always be some who think differently but for me ever since we signed him(no hindsight I remember thinking wow hes good..and I barely watch league 1 but still knew him) I have thought top player. Every season he has proved me right and for me he is the best footballer to ever play for us below Premiership level. His technique gets questioned but tbh its actually more good than bad. I see it as he looks 'awkward' so people assume its worse than it is..endless good stuff yet 1 scuff wide vs QPR everyone cant wait to give it large. End of the day hes consistent but not perfect and people think he should be yet with someone like Was he can be poor constantly, then 1 elbow or strong challenge and people get a doggy boner over it. People like to dislike Dyer and throw out the old rubbish how 'but hes a good servant'. End of the day hes arguably the best player weve ever had below the EPL(In my opinion) but undesputidly in the top few. Before the season when he got 3-4 a season I said, thats actually a very decent tally for a winger from experience myself(I play winger/in the hole in county league and scoring from the wing is hard for any winger in the league). Im not saying my level is anywhere near the 2nd best league in England but the type of style still exists. Now to have 8 from the wing at the half way stage, is actually an unbelievable total. Wingers dont get 10+, it just dont happen. Even if he was total crap in everything else he did(hardly has been with assists, pace, an outlet, passion and quality..amongsts everything else) getting the amount of goals from wide he has, is at a standard where it suggests 'hes too good for the Championship'. It does Lloyds having a good season but to say he has a good technique is just incorrect, I wouldn't say he's technique is poor but it's definitely lacking, but, he's effective, horribly predictable, but one of those players that despite knowing what he's going to do it really doesn't make you any more able to stop him. His crossing and shooting has been a little better this season but at his age I'd imagine it's more luck and good form than actual improvement, Whilst he's certainly worthy of his place in the side and could well be a candidate for player of the season I'd struggle to say he's one of the best players we've had outside the top flight, Mark Davis and Kyle Naughton are the first two the spring to mind.
Fox92 Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Done well so far, hope he can continue it. His pace can cause any defender problems, although he does lack technical ability and technique. Sometimes frustrates me, especially when he comes inside too often, but he's contributed well so far and better than I'd have expected. Personally don't think he's the best player we've had outside of the Premier League though. Kyle Naughton, Curtis Davies, Mark Davies etc...
foxfanazer Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Apparently De Laet is the quickest, although not 100% sureI can believe that If you are talking a flat out 100m race, but with a ball at their feet I'd say Dyer and Vardy are quicker. If that makes sense
Soar Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Apparently De Laet is the quickest, although not 100% sure I forgot about De Laet. This squad has got some serious pace in it.
Vardinhio Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Lloyd Dyer is our most effective player and I'd imagine the player that the opposition fear most. He's done so well for us considering we signed him as a relative unknown from MK Dons. His brother plays for Montserrat so maybe one day he'll make his international bow!
steveherbe Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Just watched yesterdays goals for about the 20th time. Screaming at the tv, go on Lloydy! Yeeesssss! All the rest, no reaction. He's so exciting to watch, thats what we want to see at £30+ a ticket. Absolute legend.
ithuriel Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Really can't fault him, he has limitations but instead of hiding he has improved, has a great attitude and really appears to like this club. Good role model for the kiddies too, never hear of bad mouthing, drugs, sleeping with Nigel's daughter etc.,
deanolegend1989 Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Andy Reid is a CM not an out and out winger. Ince takes penalties.. Adomah is the one I agree with but he is another I think is top quality and could do something in the prem. In a 4 4 2 the wide guys are not there to score goals, more assists and balance and a goal here and there. In a 4 3 3 its a bit different. Wing Forward compared to Left Mid. I dont know what formation Boro play but Adomah is seen as their goal scoring midfielder. Dyer is a natural winger, these guys arnt expected to score goals so to have 8 no matter how you put it is a great total. His technique is fairly good, no different to alot of players. He just looks awkward and not steriotypical so it is seen this way. Im not saying hes a Xabi Alonso with a wand of a right foot, but hes hardly 'poor' and has scored some wonderful goals for us. @ Man well Pablos post - got to say thats a very balanced reply and I agree with a majority of it, although I will say its experience why maybe his consistency has improved..that cross for Knocky yesterday you could just see him slow down and think a second..he'd of rushed that a few years ago. What i said about best outside the prem, I think hes much better than Mark Davies(he was good for a phase and it was in league 1 but he hasnt done much since..where Lloyd ripped up league 1..was far too good for and is easily good enough for the Championship). Davies looked very shakey often for us. Hes doing well at Hull and is a good defender but I wasnt overly impressed. Naughton is class and Id put him up there agreed. Matty James is a fabulous footballer, McCuarley has proven to be a class defender, Yakubu a top quality finisher, Nugent a good goalscorer on the whole and there are others, but for me personally Id put him as the best all round player, since the Izzets/Lennons/Heskeys MON team.
Collymore Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 Waghorn is quicker according the club during tests.
Langston Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 I love that after all the upheaval since Pearson's first spell, he (as well as King) has remained a constant. Brilliant, average, bad - he's always been there and always given everything for us. Very, very rare that a professional footballer in this country cares about a club as much as Lloyd does for us, great bloke.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 Once again Sky have credited our 4th goal to Nathan Dyer.

Mark Davies hasn't done much since? He's held down a place in a Premier League starting XI for two years and scored about 10 Prem Goals! I admit he's not done much recently but being severely injured for nearly a year probably hasn't helped!
pazzerfox Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 We need a new song for Lloyd. Something along the lines of this that Man u sing about Giggs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbyxbku5M2I
Master Fox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Lloyd Lloyd will tear you apart again! Lloyd, Lloyd will tear you apart, Again. Lloyd, Lloyd will tear you apart, Again. Needs to be sang way more than it does.
woddyuk Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 Has said this is "his" club in the rare interviews he has done. Quiet unassuming guy and if he had better finishing and an inkling of a right foot would probably already be playing in the prem and booling a ticket to Brazil. Tbh He may miss chances but have you ever seen him score a crap or jammy goal? They're all belters.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 Lloyd Lloyd will tear you apart again! Simple, but quality. Good enough to replace Lloyd Dyer M'lord.
