Guest ttfn Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 http://www.smallheathalliance.com/read.php?1,1467262 'I think I hate Leicester more than any other team in the division. They got out of £50m debts before by going into administration and not only avoided punishment but used it to get into the Premier League, they are now in another £80m of debt and losing tens of millions per year, they have bought their way to the top of the division with money they don't have. They sum up everything that's wrong with football' There's so much shit talked about administration even now. Our benefit compared to other clubs who have done the same was that we didn't lose 10 points because it wasn't the rule at the time. We were promoted with a more than 10 point margin to third. We didn't sign anybody that season apart from McKinlay and Summerbee, both of whom were initially playing for nothing. We tried and we tried and we tried to sell off the big earners. I can tell you for a fact that despite being offered very generous settlements just to get them off the books, some of our highest earners refused to leave because they were happy where they were. Administration is neither desirable nor anything to be proud of and I am certain that nobody is proud of it. But it happened 11 years ago and has next to nothing to do with the club as it now exists. We spent one year in the top flight on the back of that promotion so it's not like it radically altered our history. Not of course, that us going into administration had any impact at all on us going up, because a 10 point penalty would have seen us still get promoted. As for the £80 million of debt, well: a) that's not true. We have £0 of debt. Nil. b) most of that cash was spunked by Sven and the Thais on short-term deals for mercenaries (and some long-term deals for people who didn't deserve them). Given the amount of money we spent from 2010-2012 we massively underachieved. Embarrassingly so and everybody involved with the club should be ashamed of that period of obscene waste. But this 2013-14 team is doing a great job on what is indisputably a significantly reduced but nonetheless top-end Championship budget. With the money we have to spend we should be knocking around the top 6, but the season we're having is all due to Pearson's re-installation of confidence, pride and determination to the club after a depressing couple of years which preceded it.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Remember that Gary Rowett who came on here saying that Birmingham had the potential to be one of the biggest clubs in Europe?
Guest Bilo Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/84239-todays-game/ Seriously though, read this. It is fvcking golden.

It's down to this belief that because you are in administration you have to struggle. So even if we'd been deducted 10 points and still gone up there would have been carping and moaning about the fairness of it all. Yet if Coventry go up this year football will be lauding how wonderful it is.
Fox92 Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Sorry but "we are cheating". Are these people for real? We are top of the league after 27 games, that's through quality and consistency, which is why over a 40+ game season at any level, the best team always wins the league.
Stadt Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/84239-todays-game/ Seriously though, read this. It is fvcking golden. Surely nobody it their right mind can be that deluded?
Carl the Llama Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Nobody likes us, it turns out we care a bit.
Deucalion Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I miss Plymouth. If we do get promoted, I might find a Plymouth forum and tell them I was right, we would end up in the PL before they did !!
Vacamion Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I just saw the phrase "MK Dongs" on the Watford forum. I 'ed I can't imagine why that never occurred to me before.
Larry_LCFC Posted 26 January 2014 Author Posted 26 January 2014 Watford hate everyone. They have a chip on their shoulder because they are bunch of goons who will never achieve anything, and are jealous of the teams around them.
Babylon Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I miss Plymouth. If we do get promoted, I might find a Plymouth forum and tell them I was right, we would end up in the PL before they did !! Already on the top of my check list to do that ha ha.
MC Prussian Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/84239-todays-game/ Seriously though, read this. It is fvcking golden. "Gary Rowett" was a decent troll. He tried, but I suppose the recent on- and off-pitch successes by his mighty Brum are clearly withholding him from posting any longer on a messageboard such as ours.
Jakemoore Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Having gone through the burnley and QPR threads tonight, what interests me is that their fans are looking at the teams behind them now instead of looking up at us! Clearly they think we're in a league of our own 8-in-a-row!!
Nick Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Yeah, it's all looking great. Hope we are not being a tad overconfident.
Fox in the North Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 The Watford fans seem to be finally realising it might not be all down to the money... http://www.wfcforums.com/showthread.php?50367-Leicester-now-have-over-double-our-points-tally
GingerrrFox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 The funniest thing is no ****er has understood that we are debt free and in line to meet FFP. Instead they chat bollocks about what they know **** all about and claim we are financially doomed.
Unabomber Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 The Watford fans seem to be finally realising it might not be all down to the money... http://www.wfcforums.com/showthread.php?50367-Leicester-now-have-over-double-our-points-tally What is it with all these fans and the whole "Leicester are in debt, they have spent so much etc" as a fan of an opposing championship team how can they be so unaware? It's ****ing embarrassing.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Yeah, it's all looking great. Hope we are not being a tad overconfident. I think we are having a great season so far but we just need to take it 1 game at a time and hopefully we will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season. Up the Foxes!!!
Dan Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 If the papers say it's true then that's excuse enough to use it against a club. That's the way minds of a lot of fans work. I think there's not a lot more telling than the fact QPR/Burnley are seemingly more bothered about the teams below them rather than us now.
Mark_from_USA Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Remember that Gary Rowett who came on here saying that Birmingham had the potential to be one of the biggest clubs in Europe? For a city its size Birmingham massively underachieves in football. What do they offer - Aston Villa, West Brom and Birmingham City, and perhaps you could throw Wolves in there? Give me a break.
Soar Fox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Are Watford fans the biggest set of morons in this division? "They will go up, a likely outcome is they'll come back down again and end up in more debt. If they consolidate themselves then fair play it's fully deserved because they've been amazing this season but once again the blow is softened by knowing that we will eventually go up and when we do we're much more likely to survive with the model and owners we have." What's this model that they are on about? The model where Udinese buy a load of players and then give them to Watford? It's working really well so far isn't it they are only 32 points behind us.

Jakemoore Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Watford fans are the biggest bunch of morons I've ever witnessed. They're so thick it's unreal. With the exception of super_horns who posts on here and is an alright guy/girl!

The fact they're proud of being second dibs along with Granada to Udinese sums up how irrelevant they really are.
foxfanazer Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Congratulations to wcfcforums.com for becoming the second biggest Leicester City forum on the net, overtaking Bentleys Roof
