LCCFox96 Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 Just seen this in the article too ---> "Knockaert is not involved in the club's player row which threatens to derail Leicester's promotion bid." In that case why even try bidding. With 11 out of contract like we'd be caught selling someone who we will definately have come next season. It has rejection stamped all over it. Mike Ashley is a scumbag anyway so he'd never pay the price we were asking for to start with
Father Ted Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 Knocky's contract runs until the end of next season. Should we get promoted, he should be the first one that we offer a new contract offer to, keep the vultures away. If we can keep players like him, Drinkwater, James, Moore, De Laet, Vardy, Schmeichel at the club, they will only get better and we could build a very strong Prem team from those similar to the way that Southampton have. ithuriel Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 Player row? where did they get that from If I were him I would not bother with Newcastle anyway, chatting to a hardened Newcy fan over Xmas and he hates the guy who owns them, puts just enough investment in to keep them in the Prem so he can milk them each season and has no intention of pushing the club to win anything. MGLCFC Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 Top of the League, we're bound to attract scouts - I remember Pearson saying after the Bolton game he has no intention of selling any of his first team and more to the point I don't think our financial position means we have to. Whilst all the speculation is not helpful, I honestly think the group want to stay together and see where they can get to. It may be different in the Summer should we fail to gain promotion as I feel some will want to play at that level, but at present I have the feeling they would like to do that with Leicester. Strokes Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 I spoke to my friend at the club, he said this is definately not going to happen. Unless newcastle make a bid that leicester deem acceptable.
Strokes Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 Also knockeart is happy here and would only leave if leicester agree to sell him.

Jakemoore Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 "We won't sell knockeart, Anthony knockeart, I just don't think you understand. We won't sell knockeart, Anthony knockeart, so there won't be a riot on our hands" - its fine, don't panic, we're not a selling club, we don't need to be! Leicesterpool Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 Trouble is if we sold Knocky then we'd once again be on look out for another winger, we've only just brought in a winger for injury cover and probably to offer something new to the wing. GingerrrFox Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 Knocky would never go as far north as Newcastle. He makes regular trips back home in France which are very important to him.

The Horse's Mouth Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 Could make sense with Jonas off to Norwich, I hope he doesn't go. I doubt he would get it and I don't want him to be wasted.
FilbostreetPen1 Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 I dont like the sound of this, especially as we have just signed Mahrez. Does seem a very similar player to knockaert. I dont think there is any arguement that he would'nt want to sign for Newcastle. He wanted to sign for them a couple of years ago : http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/7450075/
Simonb Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 if we don't go up he'll go, but if we do, I reckon he'll stay until at least January 2015 and see where we are positioned in the prem
MGLCFC Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 I don't think the owners will sanction anything Pearson feels will derail the promotion push. Say £6 million for Knockaert is peanuts as to what is potentially on offer and they know that.
Danizen Posted 14 January 2014 Share Posted 14 January 2014 If Newcastle offered the same deal as Palace got for Zaha (£15m and a loan back) would anyone here take it?
