eastendfox Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Celebrating a point in temporary US exile I'm struggling to consider some people on here to be sane. Of course athletes need a rest, and how many injuries have we had this season. We left the division behind at Christmas when we shuffled the team each game. There's end season tiredness hitting all teams now but we took 6 points from 3 away and 1 home game. We really miss Vardy when injured because he gets through so much work up front and never gives defenders a rest. In these circumstances a great point. We're going up, it's been a great season, next season will be tough but let's enjoy the rest of this one first. Having seen our last two league defeats our record since has been unbelievable.
veezeeblue Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 There I was basking in the glory of our 20th undefeated game and rubbing my hands at the ecstatic delight that awaits me in the next 7 days after 10 years of wanting. Then I read this thread and realized how much of a fool I´ve been, NP really had me convinced we were good even great, that we had a fantastic managerial team, that we cant lose !! Imagine that !!! So thank you, thank you, you know who you are I wont name you or gush, as listening to your overwhelming wisdom and unfathomable insight on here I have been brought back from the brink, saved from the dangerous path of blind faith and brought back down to the dismal reality that is Leicester City. I see it now ...I´ve checked the facts ..... we are NOT top of the Championship Fair Paly table and trail to Burnley and Ipswich - Unacceptable and not only that ,,, we are also now 4th in the FORM table behind Bournemouth, - a seaside town FFS, Burnley and wait for it Doncaster ! DONCASTER FFS I dont even know where that is !! This is appauling. How could NP be so irresponsible ? If he were any good we would be top of all the tables in the whole world right guys ????? OK so we´re top of the league, gonna get prmoted to the promised land, best ratio of points earned of all teams in England above Man City, 13th best unbeaten run in all Europe, best unbeaten run in our histroy at this level, set for record breaking total points in the championship, best home record, best away record, most goals scored, best goal difference ... and I could go on..... .....but none of this matters because today, as you guys have made very clear to me, we are just not good enough, we dropped two points againts one of the best teams in the league and FA Cup semi finalists. We put in playes who have not played in a few games, ok so two of them scored ! ,,,, But THIS my friends is failure ! pure and simple! We should hold our heads in shame. Wheres my meds ?
Raj Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Geez. 2-2 come from behind draw away from home against the leagues in-form side with several players rightfully rested and our starting striker out due to injury and people are STILL complaining. Foad. what does FOAD mean?
ozleicester Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Get out of bed to a ... 2-2 away draw to a good side and having rested a number of first choice players. unbeaten in 20 games Top of the league Virtually guaranteed promotion A good run out for squad players from now on....
The Year Of The Fox Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Thats a great point considering their form and it was our much talked about game in hand
Leicester Lass Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 At a guess it would be Watford. Today, Yeovil, Blackpool and both vs Forest were all set pieces weren't they? Think you're right: Forest - corner & penalty. Blackpool - long throw. Blackburn - corner. Yeovil - FK. Wigan - FK and corner. 7 set pieces conceded since we last conceded from open play.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Here's a scenario for you all, does he name that team if we'd of lost on Saturday? Doubt it, because if we'd lost he'd be going for 1st place. Now we're going for points record. You and Kitch have let yourself down here...
Alf Bentley Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 what does FOAD mean? Fvck off and die Fair enough, John, if that's how you feel, but before I do so....what does FOAD mean?

Oxfordfox83 Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 And this is exactly the point Raj, why wasn't this team rolled out a week ago when it was needed? Well, because if we'd lost that one we'd have gone into Burnley level. We went into that game in front and came away further in front. You've said it yourself, you need points on the board. We rested players because we could afford to. We could have afforded to lose last night, but we didn't. Now we just need to get Was to teach the rest of them about defending corners, because if he'd played I don't think we'd have shipped those two goals...
Callabinho Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 How on earth did we get away with paying £450k (I think) for Mahrez? He is unbelievable!

We've not been good at defending set pieces for years in my opinion.
Unabomber Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 How on earth did we get away with paying £450k (I think) for Mahrez? He is unbelievable! Good scouts, whereas Blackburn paid us about the same didn't they for Marshall?
Haydos Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 I was out last night so didn't catch the game or any of the action here. Not even going to bother looking in the match thread, I can already imagine the comments. March on lads, decent point away to Wigan, all things considered.
foxfanazer Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Embarrassing match thread and post match thread of the season goes to......Wigan away! I really do shudder at the thought of the premier league for some of you. A draw is a great result and keeps the unbeaten run going whilst giving our top performers a WELL EARNED rest!

Everyone's a manager......

shade Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 I'm thinking of doing the same I would rather see the mods be more heavy handed in banning trolls and clowns. that's not to say no criticism, but obvious, over the top complaining should be terminated. nothing wrong with a bit of censorship.
Babylon Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 And this is exactly the point Raj, why wasn't this team rolled out a week ago when it was needed? Because we weren't in the position we are now, then. If that team last night had played against Yeovil and only got a point, you would have been spitting feathers just as you are now.
Captain... Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Your assuming I know the injury list. Do you? At least one, Vardy, was rotated last game due to injury. People have said James has not looked his best, perhaps he has a knock? Moore is an England under 21 international and Was has had his share of injury problems in the past. Dyer is trying to round back into form after injury and so was pretty well rested. Maybe Pearson wanted his pace - it seemed to be causing problems toward the end. This is what I mean - people are making assumptions then unloading the criticisms. This I do know - City have capable reserves, for which we can be thankful. They haven't missed a serious beat all year due to injury, which is remarkable. I am making no assumptions, Vardy injury aside, how would you have handled these last few weeks if you were a manager of a team with a very talented squad? Would you have earmakrked 1 game to make a host of changes? Played the same 11 every game until they were knackered and you were forced to make changes? or would you have rotated the squad during those few weeks to maintain fitness? Celebrating a point in temporary US exile I'm struggling to consider some people on here to be sane. Of course athletes need a rest, and how many injuries have we had this season. We left the division behind at Christmas when we shuffled the team each game. There's end season tiredness hitting all teams now but we took 6 points from 3 away and 1 home game. We're going up, it's been a great season, next season will be tough but let's enjoy the rest of this one first. Having seen our last two league defeats our record since has been unbelievable. No denying the need for rest or the quality in the squad, but I ask you the same question, how would you have handled it? The issue is not the players he picked, all good players in their own right, and in Moore, Konch and Dyer, players who have significantly contributed to this unbeaten run the issue is that after not changing the side for weeks, he made 6 changes, and did so for one of our toughest games of the season. It is also that 2 of those changes meant a complete new midfield, King has played 59 minutes, since he last started a league game, Millwall on 1st Jan 3 months ago, Hammond 75 minutes. The fact Nigel did the same over the Christmas period makes me think that it is his tactic, making 6 changes in one game, then back to the 'first team', over Christmas he rested over 2 games, Millwall and the Stoke, maybe he will do the same against Wednesday, then back to the 'first team' for QPR and Reading. On a final point, just because we are top and on a 20 match unbeaten run, it doesn't mean everything Nigel does is perfect, and cannot be criticised if you feel it was an error, had we won last night it would not have changed my opinion, I said the same over Christmas, he should use the squad better. In the last 14 games, 1260 minutes of league football our midfielders have played the following number of minutes: Drinkwater: 1245 James: 1222 Hammond: 75 King: 59 Considering everyone is agreed that King and Hammond are good enough to start games, do you think that is good management of the squad?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I want to really enjoy next season and sometimes people get me down on here
