Guest ttfn Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 John Flanagan/Calum Chambers and Luke Shaw Jone Flanagan I can live with, possibly Nathaniel Clone.
purpleronnie Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 see the scot celebrating with the Uruguay fans?.
Beliall Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 There needs to be 5000+ more UEFA qualified coaches in this country. Most schools should have them. We need a blueprint. Failing that, we created the game so let's stop anyone else playing it. Bugger off up your own end and create your own sports, this is ours!!!! yeah, lets take all the footballs and go home
indierich06 Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 see the scot celebrating with the Uruguay fans?. Closest they'll come to supporting a side at the World Cup I suppose. Just a shame he wore that ****ing horrific shirt.
Grandad. Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Read a lot of Gerrard and Rooney bashing on here and over social networks today, just remember who it was who got England to Brazil back in October when we had to beat Poland. Short memories. Gerrard for me should retire from England, he isn't going to be at Euro 2016 so he may as well call it a day now and let the youth come through. Rooney should either play up front or should have a manager with enough balls to drop him. Both been fantastic servants for England and both been our best two players since 2006.

Gerrard has been decent for England with some good games, but I dont think Rooney has done anything of note for us since 2006, been very mediocre. I hope Gerrard does retire so he prolongs his club career and gives new young players a chance. He didnt have the best game yesterday though
MPH Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/sport/sport-headlines/scotland-dies-laughing-20071121549 Scotland Dies Laughing 21-11-07 TRIBUTES are being paid to Scotland this morning after the entire country laughed itself to death. Most would have been dead within minutes The alarm was first raised at around 10pm last night as thousands of phone calls and text messages went unanswered. Small groups of volunteers from Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Carlisle ventured north just after midnight only to find houses full of dead people gathered around still blaring television sets. By dawn, as RAF helicopters flew over deserted city streets, it was clear that the whole country had suffered a catastrophic abdominal rupture. Wayne Hayes, a special constable from Northumberland, said: "We went into one house in Dunbar and found three men sitting on the sofa with huge smiles on their faces, still holding cans of 70 shilling. They seemed to be at peace." He added: "In a house near Edinburgh we found a man face down on the living room floor with his trousers and pants round his knees. "It seems he may have been showing his bare buttocks to the television when he keeled over." Roy Hobbs, a civil engineer from Northampton, said: "I got a call from my friend Ian in Stirling at about 9.50pm. "He was already laughing when I answered the phone, but after about 25 minutes of the most vigorous and uncontrollable hilarity, everything suddenly went very quiet." Moving tributes are already being placed along the Scotland-England border with many mourners opting to leave a simple bag of chips or a deep fried bunch of flowers. Oh well. Guess they won't need independence now...
Samilktray Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Last night was probably the first time England have been knocked out (all but knocked out) of a major tournament and I've just laughed about it.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Have England ever lost the first two games in the group stage? Infact have we ever lost two games
MooseBreath Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I have to say this kind of failure has been a lot easier to take than penalties. I almost feel nothing already.
ScouseFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 much better than penalties or losing 4-1 to germany which is pretty much all that's ever happened in my lifetime.
RonnieTodger Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Amazing how the bench turns bang average players into our best ones isn't it?

Anybody who thinks it was Gerrard's fault last night is deluded. People see it come off his head and start bashing him. But look at Suarez, he's alive and ready to intercept a potential flick on. Jagielka and, in particular, Cahill are asleep.

Can't blame him for the goal but his overall performance was rubbish. Time to step aside Stevie
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I genuinely believe that whilst the Premiership is so full of overseas players, the development of our home-grown talent will be stifled. It needs capping imo, if the system is seriously going to look at our years of underachieving at International level. Not in terms of numbers of overseas players in the squad, but in terms of how many players can be on the field at any one time. I doubt it will happen though.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Some of the criticism of Rooney based on last nights performance utter nonsense imo, he looked like he was the only player on the pitch who was bothered.

For once I do agree! Thought Sturridge wanted it a lot, there was a time though when Sturridge tried to do too much and it didn't come off.

I've already posted that. God I'm hung over
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Dispel the myth manwell. The Premier League produced the most talented England side sine 1966, on paper, it wasn't the Premeir League or the foreign players in it at fault for them not turning up for 3 tournaments.
Samilktray Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Upon re watching the game (no idea why) I've now realised Rooney wasn't all that bad. The chance in the box where he fired it straight at their keeper was a shocker though. Defence was a shambles. Gerrard was pretty anonymous. Henderson tried hard but doesn't look at this level yet. Sturridge and Sterling were probably our best players this tournament. The team needs to be built around those pair now, Sterling will be the bollocks in a few years.

Henry Winter tweeted a good side earlier on which he thinks should play in the August friendly, starts with resting Wayne Rooney. Hart - Flanagan, Cahill, Stones, Shaw - Jones, Wilshire - Sterling, Barkley, Oxlade-Chamberlain - Sturridge. Why not?

He was a big loss this tournament I think.
