Watford bid 1.5 million for King

King is a decent midfielder, He also has keen eye for goal which is a bonus.

He'll start getting stronger now that he's a little older and won't get muscled out quite so easily.

Strangely I think he'll do better in the Premier.

But more importantly he.s one of our own born and reared in Leicester.

I also think it's important that the Club show loyalty to the players especially the home grown ones.

As it sends the message to the development squad that if they work hard then they will get their chance here.

He should definitely stay.

To even consider selling King while our only CM options are DD, James, King and Hammond is madness, he started over half our games last season. He wasn't a bit part player he played over 2000 minutes and scored vital goals.

I would also be gutted if he left, like Lloyd he played a huge part in restoring pride to this club helping rescue it from its lowest point despite offers from elsewhere.

Na you are right, I mean Everton were never interested or anything a while back............

Could have walked when we went League 1 to ANYONE in the Championship.

So fickle.

Villa were also sniffing some time ago at a time when a move to them would have been attractive.

I've always been a massive champion of King and I wouldn't want to see him leave but, just to clear this up, the enquiry from Watford is the first ever concrete enquiry the club have had for King. He's quite clearly very happy at Leicester but if a club near Maidenhead were to come in for him then that could quite easily peak his interest (QPR or Reading would be ideal for him) as that's where his family are based and in think where he would like to be too eventually.

Great post.

I just want to know why everyone wants to say that our players are not cut out for prem football... What do you think it is? Football is football, and if our players can adapt like they have, playing with more pace should be no problem.

Maybe we need a league in between the Championship and the Prem then because we were far too good last season but apparently not good enough to stay in the prem

King 100% not good enough for me. Been that way for a long time.

Too many deluded souls trading on sentimentality in our support. £2m & we'd be laughing.

That's about the only thing you have said I can agree with.

As for the rest of that post stop talking shite.

One of the few players who I believe will be better at premier league level than in the Championship. I really dont see an international with the highest no of appearances for us leaving for anything less than 4/5 million particularly when Watford are trying us out for 10m with Deeney.

You wrote our manager and squad off before the season started last year.....

I presume most of King's detractors haven't played football. The lad is immensely skilled, gives it his all every game and never goes missing.

He does find it difficult to dictate in midfield, but that is not his job. His job is to link up and as Shanks used to say "get the ball, give it and go". Kingly is often on the end of passing movements, (hence his goal scoring record) unlike Drinky and James, who are box to box players, but don't often actually get into the area very often. Drinky and James can't commit too far forward otherwise we lose our shape. They only press really high when we are chasing a game in the last 10-15 minutes.

King deserves his chance in the Prem and I don't think he will let us down.

If by detractors, you mean people who think he will be sold, then I guess you mean me.

As much as I have admired King and seen his contribution as invaluable, I would not describe him as 'immensely skilled'

Don't get me wrong, he's a great little player for us, but he already cant get a regular place in a side that is rumored to be looking at the likes of Holtby and, if you believe some sources, then Cleverley aswell.

There's a reason why other midfielders are signing on the dotted lines of new 4 year contracts.

Does Pearson think he is good enough? Is King happy to be playing an increasingly bit part for Leicester?

If the answer to any of those questions is no, then detractors or not, the signs are not  looking good.

I just wish people would understand, it isn't always about whether the fans or manager want someone to stay  and wether we should keep someone..... the players have  say in this too....

And you clearly know nothing as has been seen previously

Are Watford taking the piss? They reckon Deeney is worth £10 million yet only bid £1.5 million for King. lol Muppets

They're really deluded. This transfer window is insane, since when were any of these championship strikers worth 10 mill. Fulham have screwed us all over.

If we were still in the championship how much would you want if a Premier club came sniffing after Vardy?

Nice to see some of the riches trickling (very slowly) down from the Premier but Leeds and Brighton will now be held to ransom by other clubs as well.

Id be suprised if Leeds spent much tbh but I agree with your point.

Well Southampton supposedly want him so you tell me.

If i was the chairman. 10 but lets be fair he's worth what 3? 5 tops. If you did a really good deal.

In this market you wouldn't sell for less than 8 figures. I wouldn't sell at all quite frankly.

There is no room in the Premiership for sentimentality, if that is the reason for having someone play for us. Players are needed to be good enough for the higher level, and if they are not, then they should move on.

Whatever anybody believes, it will be up to the manager to decide.

As Vardy has yet to sign a contact extension I assume that NFP or the club still have doubts as to whether he can cut it at this level. If they were confident surely he'd have been offered a contract extension in line with those signed by James and Drinkwater.

He's been offered a 4 year deal, still not been signed hence the media reporting that Southampton are ready to pounce.
