davieG Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 for the Everton corners you were wrong. The ball doesn't have to be in the quarter circle it only has to be just over the line as the rules are exactly the same for goals, thrown ins and corners.
shade Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 are there seriously people with an interest in football who don't know the 'whole ball' rule?
yorkie1999 Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 i think everyone in the world knows this, but yells to put the player off. Its called pitcraft, i heard it on the radio..
davieG Posted 18 August 2014 Author Posted 18 August 2014 It would appear we have plenty in the Kop i think everyone in the world knows this, but yells to put the player off. Its called pitcraft, i heard it on the radio.. Don't think so.
Harry - LCFC Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 I thought this too. It's become the done thing to shout at the ref at every corner now even though the ball's almost always in the quadrant.
Dan Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 There were millimetres in it when Baines was taking his. Which made me laugh even more when he overhit it.
AKCJ Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 I know that it's in the rules. But anything that might make the referee think that its totally out of the quadrant will either give my side the time to get into position or make the taker rearrange the ball into a position that might not be as good for him or put the taker off makes its a worthwhile exercise to make a fuss.
Gary Eatfood Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 I was more inclined to scream at the ref for awarding a corner that wasn't that ultimately led to their first goal.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 In my d seats further up the Kop there were two old farts who used to scream "PUT IT IN THE D!!!! IN THE D YOU CHEATS!!!" Every time an oppo corner was taken. This was the single biggest reason we moved further down the stand.
ScouseFox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 i enjoyed it when baines overhung the ball, the crowd shouted so much it actually got the ref to go over to him, he pointed at the ball put his thumbs up and baines turned to the corner of the kop and just laughed. obviously most don't know the rules.
MPH Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 The referee's a balloon head! The referee's a balloon head!
Bayfox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 glad it's not just me that finds the lack of knowledge a complete head ****. the shouting for this drives me mad.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Don't really remember this too much but it's not all necessarily a bad thing. The more pressure that we apply to a ref and the more we get on their back as a home crowd, the better. Though it's obviously preferable that we don't look like complete and utter tools in the process.
JonnyBoy Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 can i also express my anger for the fans who left to go down to the concourse at 38 minutes? you pay all that money to potentially miss a goal, also disturb people around you. All because you cant go 45 minutes without scoffing your faces? leave at 45 minutes for a piss. Get a burger before or after game ffs and stop ruining peoples experience. Does my head in.
ARTY_FOX Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Tbh sometimes I think people shout just because other people are shouting and are not actually that sure what there shouting at
Lionator Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Ref's could nail every decision 100% and football fans will still moan. It's natural, not correct, but natural in the modern game.
lestajigs Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 for the Everton corners you were wrong. The ball doesn't have to be in the quarter circle it only has to be just over the line as the rules are exactly the same for goals, thrown ins and corners. Well you learn something new everyday

If the club were set up to manage demand at half time nobody would. I queued the whole 15 mins and still didn't get served. They must lose a fortune with their pathetic staffing levels ( and in some cases idiots serving)
ElusiveEd Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Had to laugh at Mahrez when he had that 2nd half free kick and as the ref sprayed the grass and walked his 10 yards he put the ball to within mm's over the line. Only Distin was complaining to an oblivious ref so Riyad kept pushing him away. Free kick was taken. Not convinced with this spraying malarky when liberties are taken, and boundaries are pushed, elsewhere.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Dunno but if the ref hadn't given that corner we'd have won 2-1
pleatout Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 are there seriously people with an interest in football who don't know the 'whole ball' rule? Sorry to be a pedant, but are there seriously people with an interest in football that don't know that competitions have rules whereas the game itself has laws. Corner kick = law 3 points for a win = rule
ARTY_FOX Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 If the club were set up to manage demand at half time nobody would. I queued the whole 15 mins and still didn't get served. They must lose a fortune with their pathetic staffing levels ( and in some cases idiots serving) I thought they were alright, didn't que the whole 15 and they gave me a double cheeseburger for the price of a normal one.

Yep I think this as well
indierich06 Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 can i also express my anger for the fans who left to go down to the concourse at 38 minutes? you pay all that money to potentially miss a goal, also disturb people around you. All because you cant go 45 minutes without scoffing your faces? leave at 45 minutes for a piss. Get a burger before or after game ffs and stop ruining peoples experience. Does my head in. They're the same types that turn up 5-10 minutes after kick off due to having a few shit warm beers in the concourse pre-match, leave 10 minutes before half time to get a shit pie and drink a few more shit pints, go back up 10 minutes after the second half has started and then leave 5-10 minutes before the end because beating the traffic is more important than actually watching the game you've paid about £30 for. This may be an over-exaggeration, but it definitely goes on - where I sat in the East Stand last season there was plenty of fans who would regularly miss about 30-40 minutes of football due to pissing about in the concourse before the game and at half time, before leaving early at the end. Real value for money, that!
