Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Ulloa was awful! No effort whatsoever. Although I think he would have stuck away Nuge's one on one. GTF is ridiculously overweight. It's embarrasing he got on the pitch. We need reinforcements ASAP. Or we are going down. So on the back of 2 good performances, we are going down? 2 games where we have been without se of our best players? You really really needs to get a grip
foxtillidrop Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Thought we did well for the first 60 minutes. The pride is back in the club and we definitely have a spirit about us and it doen't look as though we will be pushovers this season. Thought Kasper made some great stops as always. However, sometimes I think he comes bursting off his line and leaves his goal exposed when he might give the striker a bit more to think about if he stayed nearer to his line. It looked that way to me for the first goal today, the first Everton goal last week and also happened when Deeney got the goal for Watford in the play offs. Just an observation.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Fair point, but unlike Schlupp we've actually seen Mahrez do plenty of positive things since he joined. Schlupp looked to have potential because of his pace at one stage but for some time now he's looked completely useless. Come on now, lets not use hyperbole to put a point across.
Max Power Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Let's get the negatives out the way first: 1. Delivery from set-peices (particularly corners) still leaves something to be desired. 2. Nugent really needs to be a bit more clinical at this level. 3. The squad looks very thin now. We hardly had to deal with injuries to key players last season, but it's unlikely that will be the case this season. Finishing the game with GTF on the pitch against Chelsea is not something I thought we'd be doing this season. But: 1. We matched one of the best sides in the league for the best part of an hour, at their own ground. 2. We went there with a very positive, attacking attitude. It looks like we're going to go to the big boys this season and try to compete, rather than just parking the bus and hoping for the best. 3. Dean Hammond has come on leaps and bounds. Also King and Moore had excellent games. Would have taken a 0-2 loss before the game, but I was surprised by how well we coped. Very pleased overall. Completely agree with all of this. I'm confident about the rest of the season with key players returning from injury and easier opposition to come.
Nick Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Read the thread through. It wasn't a prediction, so no told you so involved. Why do you wish to cause trouble? Yes. It's me. It's all me. It's certainly nothing to do with you posting the same rhetoric in every thread for the past three and a half years.

m4DD0gg Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Have to say GTF has really stacked on the weight he is ****ing huge! I laughed when i saw him run on but then thought shit this is not good when you have to bring a severely over weight 30 something championship player against Chelsea.
shailen Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 disappointed we didnt get a point, but what a great performance. King especially in the first half was unbelievable and so was Hammond. Moore and Morgan were their usual selfs. We need new full backs desparately and a CM
cc_star Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Dean Hammond, have the keys to my gaff son. You've been exceptional these last two games, I feel a right fcukin prat. Aye, him & King have been immense
yorkie1999 Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Would anyone have taken a 2-0 loss at halftime I wonder.
Bryn Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 No shame in that really. we just need to get some players in. I'm also shocked our academy hasn't produced a central midfielder that could be profiting from the space in the squad at this moment in time. Thought Morgan and Moore both looked like Premier League defenders, Konchesky had another solid game for the most part, King and Hammond worked their balls off again. Mahrez was always a threat, his final ball needs to improve but he draws two or three defenders in every time he has the ball. Nugent probably should have scored one of his chances but Courtois was inspired, as were Cahill and Terry.
lavrentis Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 matt le tissier done a complete u turn and thinks we will stay up.
Guest Kopfkino Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Matt Le Tissier: "I tipped Leicester to struggle and get relegated but I've watched them twice now and I'd be very surprised if that team goes down"
Stan Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 But they will...... Their absence cost us today...But mixed feelings after the event with only much respect for all that wore the shirt...The 3 injured missing likely starters plus the inclusion of Schlupp ( lacking end product) instead of a more creative Knockheart..(needed because of a workmanlike but more defensive midfield) It is still clear to see that despite our gratitude to the retained players from last year one or two are not up to the PL. 3 more in, JS, GTF, DH, AK, out and we'll be OK. So after two outstanding games from Dean Hammond and Andy King, you are basically saying that they are not up to it.. Thankfully, you are not our manager.

It looked that way to me for the first goal today, the first Everton goal last week and also happened when Deeney got the goal for Watford in the play offs. Just an observation. As a goalkeeper you can't just stand on your line, especially with the first goal today. IF he had done then Costa would have had the whole goal to aim at and it would have been a much easier finish than the one he did finish. It's all about the angles and you've got to make the angles as narrow as possible for a player to aim at. With the Everton goal last week he's made a good save from Distin and has stayed out to narrow the angle for McGeady with 3 players on the line, McGeady picked out the only place in the goal where he could score.
STUHILL Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Really didn't think GTF did that bad! He definitely hasn't been inspired to lose any weight though now we are in the Prem haha Agree that we hopefully won't be requiring him again but harsh for people to say he was an embarrassment (for his play anyway)
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Matt le tissier speaking very highly of us Which means more than half the stuff on here tbh
m4DD0gg Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Paul Merson done a complete u turn and thinks we will stay up. Mers may be a drug addled nutter but he talks a lot of sense.

foxfanazer Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Very proud of our boys. Great first half but eventually the class and many many pound notes showed. Had our chances which we need to sharpen up on but never gave up and I think we'll be fine
cc_star Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 So after two outstanding games from Dean Hammond and Andy King, you are basically saying that they are not up to it.. Thankfully, you are not our manager. A lot of people have trouble reconciling themselves with this fact
kingfox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Chelsea v Leicester Game Of The Day from 8pm, full re run of the match if you want to see it again. Us featuring in the game of the day, two weeks running. I'm quite liking the Premier League
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 They should, but when they set up well, hit hit low and in the corner and it's still saved, what can you do? Seriously, watch the chance again, the ground the keeper closes down is astonishing. If he'd have taken it earlier I think it would have been in but the moment he nudges it out in front of him Courtois is within yards of him Personally I think the first one he had a better chance with, he could have just smashed it. The bottom line is if he wants to be a Premier League striker, and want's to keep himself in the team, he's going to have to start taking chances like that, it's ok talking about Courtois coming out quickly, he could try and go round him, or dink it, he should score that and he should score the first. Mind you at least he worked those opportunties which is a lot more than Ulloa did. Still it was a highly impressive team performance until they scored which we should be proud of.

It's certainly nothing to do with you posting the same rhetoric in every thread for the past three and a half years. Absolutely there is no need. Id rather just discuss the football than feel compelled to have to answer your constant criticism. If you get the hump with my wording, pop me on ignore and save another thread becoming personal.
LeicesterLuke91 Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Impressive performance and plenty of positives to take out the game. We won't be a walkover this year
