z-layrex Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Im happy with this result, thanks to Chelsea for having us.
J.Lisemore Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Yeah, that's a fair point. Morgan proving he's more than capable in this league (as some had doubts) and Liam Moore is going to have a big future ahead of him if he carries on like this. I'll admit to being one of these people, but he's been impressive so far and had a great game today. Top partnership.
MPH Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Cant fault the game, but can fault some of the fans in here. Picking fault in the players after just two games in the prem and especially having just pushed one of the favorites for the title, on their own turf to produce their best. Let's not worry... Nugent will have more difficult chances this season and score some...
Callabinho Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Liam Moore will be very unlucky to be left out the England squad in their up and coming game. He and Wes have been outstanding.
Grewks Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Liam Moore will be very unlucky to be left out the England squad in their up and coming game. He and Wes have been outstanding. Looked a lot better than Jagielka so far.
Benji Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Once again King and Hammond have had my pants down. I looked at the team sheets and feared a real thrashing today. Hats off - performance wise I never expected us to compete this well first two games. Very confident for this season.
LanguedocFox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 As I said early today in the pre-match thread, "Like most City fans, I think we will be lucky to get anything at all out of this: if we "only" lose 2-0, lots of people - including most neutrals - will think we did OK. That's not being pessimistic - it's being realistic. The result won't bother me too much (unless we win 2-0, in which case I will have a fvckin coronary) as long as the whole team puts in a real shift." And I thought the whole team did put in a shift - every one of them can be proud of their performance. And if we continue to play like that, we have absolutely nothing to fear. Bring on the Ar$enal.
Grewks Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Anyone else think that with the same level of performance we will beat arsenal? Given the fact they have to play beskitas aswell.
AKCJ Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Slightly gutted that Vardy wasn't playing because I genuinely think that he'd have taken one of Nugent's 1 on 1s. However, without player of the year, players player of the year, young player of the year and the previous season's player of the year we managed to make a very good side look bloody ordinary. Looking forward to hearing Mark Lawrenson's opinion after he slated our midfield. Yes, our reserve midfield that kept 150m worth of Chelsea midfield as quiet as a mouse. Final shoutout has to go to the away end, they were as excellent as the boys in red. Well done everyone, enjoy your bank holiday because you've earnt it.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Anyone else think that with the same level of performance we will beat arsenal? Given the fact they have to play beskitas aswell. I think we will give them a hell of a game
LanguedocFox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Good comments by Pearson after the match: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/9437219 Bang on, in my opinion
Basingstoke Fox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Had my LCFC top on round London after the game and had quite a few positive comments about our performance and atmosphere. Many people are confident that we'll stay up this year.
TonyN11 Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I really like the red kit is that wrong of me? Yes!
Dan Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Lost as expected but gave a better account of ourselves than I thought we would. To me this was a loss before we'd kicked off and anything we get from it is an absolute bonus, it feels weird, I don't feel in a mood like we've just lost. If anything, my confidence in staying up has grown today.
Danno Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Nugent's miss was worse than anything Sadam Hussain ever did.
BoyJones Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Just back, thought the lads all played really well. Chelsea were made to look nothing special and our shape in the first hour was much better than theirs. Hammond and Wes were excellent, followed by King, Moore, Kasper and Konch. Ulloa and Nugent worked tirelessly and from where I was standing (front row in line with the goal kick line) Nugent clearly lost full control of the ball at the vital moment and was forced to shoot, when he should have been going around the keeper. I was more disappointed with the earlier chance the keeper saved with his foot. My only real frustration was the lack of quality in our crossing first half and Schlupp's contribution. He chooses the wrong option too often and is often caught out of position. I know he is young and learning, but felt he was our weakest player in the first hour. Obviously once they scored we were up against it and the last half hour was basically all Chelsea. Plenty of reason for optimism, we should all be very proud of the team.
Danno Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Agreed. Schlupp is just Dyer mk2 really, all pace and no footballing brain. Doesn't look interested and lacks the confidence to go past players.
Adster Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Imagine thinking that Drinky and James might struggle to get back in the team. Who'd of thought that two games ago.
coolhandfox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Difference at this level is taking your chances, last week Schlupp, this week Nugent, both 1-1s. If we are going to do well we need to be more clinical
TonyN11 Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Have to say GTF has really stacked on the weight he is ****ing huge! I laughed when i saw him run on but then thought shit this is not good when you have to bring a severely over weight 30 something championship player against Chelsea. Fair play to the Chelsea fans though. I didn't hear any 'who ate all the pies?' chants.
johnny the fox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 fook me.. we ain't been in the premier for ten long years... its going to take more than 5 fookin mins to get where we want to be..
purpleronnie Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Fair play to the Chelsea fans though. I didn't hear any 'who ate all the pies?' chants. Not sure chelsea fans know what a pie is, I did hear 'who ate all the Foie gras' a couple of times.
dannythefox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Should of taken the lead but didn't we've got to start taking our chances
kingfox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Just watched the game. Hammond absolute quality, as were Morgan & Moore. The left side of Konchesky & Schlupp really impressed me first half, some saying Schlupp picks the wrong options, he picked out some excellent passes today, caused Ivanovic problems a few times, and defensively especially first half along with Konch he looked very decent. Only two negatives for me and that's how wasteful Nugent & Mahrez were, both getting in good positions & not making the most of possession & chances. Overall very impressed again, didn't expect us to win but we proved our worth & held our own.
