He's been linked heavily with Burnley, could mean the Cambiasso move isn't happening which wouldn't be a bad thing for me. Freddy Guarin is available for £11 million if Nige fancies him instead.

Presuming this is true, how much is he actually worth? Is it worth putting an improved bid in for him?

Tidy player, genuinely comfortable at this level and should never be playing championship football.

I'd love to see us actually conduct a simple transfer, though. Bid quietly, bid accepted, agreed agree terms on to the next one.

No chance.

He's a very good player, i'd value him about what we've had rejected so it's a case of how desperate we ar. It would seem we are looking at other options to Cambiasso which is wise as we've not long left to get players in now.

First sign of the 'beckford last week of the transfer window' price area.

fwiw, I don't care too much about fees, (within reason) as long as we get enough cover in to keep us away from the drop zone.

it will be far more expensive to get relegated.

Agreed.

Not sure it's possible in the prem though? I can't think of many under the radar deals this summer....I blame sky sports.

I know he's decent but that's about it, how much would people pay for him max?

2 million.

Steve Walsh needs to get scouting again and find someone better and for half the price abroad instead of pissing about paying over the odds for championship players.

To be fair, I'd imagine Nigel would too. I can also imagine that it's not our side that reveals the bid.

I doubt Pearson does much negotiating directly.

He's said countless times that he and Steve Walsh (and his scouting team) identify players, Terry Robinson is the one who negotiates everything else, fee, wages, the lot.

BUT WHY ISNT ANYBODY ELSE IN FOR HIM!?!???

Someone was a few days ago. I can't remember who but it was on the BBC that another club had had a bid rejected. Hull or Sunderland or someone like that.
