kingcarr21 Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Sepp Blatter: Fifa president to stand for re-election Sepp Blatter has confirmed he will stand for election for another term as Fifa president. In a video interview played at the Soccerex conference in Manchester, the 78-year-old announced his intention to go for a fifth term in charge of world football's governing body. He will make an official announcement at Fifa's executive committee meeting between 25-26 September. Uefa president Michel Platini has said he would not be opposing Blatter. "You see a mission is never finished. And my mission is not finished," said Blatter. "I got through the last congress in Sao Paulo not only the impression but the support of the majority, a huge majority of national associations asking 'Please go on, be our president also in future.'" The deadline to register as a candidate is in January 2015 and the election will take place at the Fifa Congress next June. Platini stated earlier this year that he would not support Blatter, but the 59-year-old former France player will not be rivalling Blatter. "I was not surprised because in private conversations I have had with Michel Platini before, during and after the World Cup he has confirmed he would not be a candidate," said Blatter, who has been Fifa president since 1998. "But [he told me] there will be someone who will be your contender who will be contesting you." YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
HEGGSY Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 I wish he'd just fvck off, bellend He'll keep standing for it as long as his heart is beating
Jace Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 "You see a mission is never finished. And my mission is not finished," said Blatter. Whats his mission to ruin international football?
FrankieADZ Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 guess Blatter spent all that "Brown envelope" money then
Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 For someone who clearly hates football, he's a real sucker for punishment. Also, didn't he say he wouldn't stand again?
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Fiver each, hire a hitman? In all seriousness, the bloke is a good for nothing leech who is as bent as they come. Nothing good will ever come from him being in charge of FIFA. Utter cretin.
Dan Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 FIFA's beyond repair anyway. Blatter's death will solve nothing because I've little doubt his eventual replacement will be any better and if they are at first they're bound to eventually be suckered in to FIFA's corrupt ways. It's a wreck of an organisation. Absolute disgrace and a complete embarrassment to the sport.
Corky Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 For someone who clearly hates football, he's a real sucker for punishment. Also, didn't he say he wouldn't stand again? He's hardly a sucker for punishment, he gets to go to all international tournaments, stay in top hotels, get five star service, tickets to finals. He's probably realised he'll miss all that if he didn't stand again. Can't blame him really, he gets a great life through FIFA. Unfortunately we'll be stuck with him for years.
Stadt Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Just develop coronary heart disease or something
Grandad. Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Who cares about Blatter? Nothing is going to change. Even if Blatter does leave, like Fox92 said Platini is going to take over which I think could be even worse. Instead of worrying who is at the top of FIFA, we should be worrying about the idiots at the top of the FA and the idiot who is in control of the national side.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Erf, he's just announced a plan to bring in TV replays. Great.
Darkon84 Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 It'll just be as bad when Platini gets his job Didn't Platini rule himself out before and say he has no interest in the job at all? Plus, as someone else mentioned, I'm sure Blatter said he wasn't going to run again. It was a kind of back hand condition that he got to run unopposed last time, providing it would be his last term. Fat rodent.
Guest Bilo Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 FIFA is corrupt to the core and Blatter is a symptom as well as a cause. Until some of the world's nations break away from FIFA and start again, this will go on.

Yeh but still, it would be good if he was dead. I'm not really sure how anyone could do any worse. Sure, the head of FIFA is never going to care about football, and he'll just rake the money in for him and his pals. But Blatter is worse than that, he's reached the stage where he'll now do anything for attention. He's going senile, insane, even. He's out of control while nobody is running against him. Besides, it's the principal. This guy has been getting away with it for so long; even now he's gone completely mental he still isn't being stopped. It's almost like he's on the wind up. It's galling. The FA are pussycats compared to the scumbags at FIFA.
RonnieTodger Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Remember when he professional football to be the same as on a park? Changed his tune now hasn't he?
lavrentis Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 Great man, done a brilliant service to world football and hope he gets re-elected
Webbo Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 In large parts of the world corruption is a way of life. The only way to get to the top of your FA is bribery and cronyism. If Blatter wasn't re-elected if would be someone equally as bad or worse.
