Monsell1976 Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Be happy with a draw here, any away draw in this league would be a good result.
Ian W LCFC Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I'd go for something like this. Pretty much a 4-3-3. Hamer RDL Morgan Wasilewski Konch Cambiasso James Drinky Mahrez Ulloa Vardy Kasper deserves to be dropped in my opinion, and Hamer has our only clean sheet of the season. As much as I like Liam, he didn't have the best of games yesterday and I think Wasilewski deserves a chance. Drinky and James were great together last season and I think Cambiasso is needed as he is always calm on the ball and rarely looses it. Vardy and Mahrez have to play for me, the pacer they provide on the break is so dangerous! Let's hope Ulloa performs how he has been this season bar Burnley, it would be harsh to drop the top scorer.
kingfox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 People opting for 4-3-3, obviously learnt nothing at all from the Palace game. The formation just basically allows Newcastle's wingers to get at us, they will just stretch us out wide, ping balls into the box & like with Newcastle yesterday, will probably score from a cross. You need to be doubling up on teams who play with wingers away from home, hence sticking Schlupp & Mahrez out wide again, it won't just help us in a defensive sense, it will also help us in an attacking sense, especially on the counter attack.

Exactly, we had no width and outnumbered in midfield
lestajigs Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Torres couldn't score, burnley couldn't score, Newcastle can't win!! This is Leicester 2.0 Newcastle!!! THATS THE SPIRIT
orangecity23 Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Kasper RDL - Moore - Morgan - Konchesky King - Cambiasso - Drinkwater Vardy - Ulloa - Mahrez Subs: Hamer, Was, Wood, James, Knocky, Simpson, Powell. This looks good to me, it also allows the flexibility to switch to 442 if necessary, shuffling Drinkwater to right midfield if we have to.
Adster Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Kasper Simpson Moore Morgan Schlupp Mahrez Cambiasso Drinky Vardy Ulloa Wood / Nugent I think wood deserves a chances and Konch needs a break. Vardy on the wing. He's about to have a 2 week break..
Harry - LCFC Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 why so many people dropping de laet? Because he hasn't been great. It's a toss up for me atm and I wouldn't be disappointed or surprised to see Simpson start next game.
ScouseFox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Because he hasn't been great. It's a toss up for me atm and I wouldn't be disappointed or surprised to see Simpson start next game. he was probably our second best player at the weekend, and only because mahrez scored and got an assist. if we go back to 433 his speed and direct running on the break/overlap will be essential to stretch the opposition. i too wouldn't be disappointed or surprised if simpson came in but think it'd be a bit unfair to drop rdl.
Tom17LCFC Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Because he hasn't been great. It's a toss up for me atm and I wouldn't be disappointed or surprised to see Simpson start next game. ok let's drop drinkwater, kasper, moore, vardy and ulloa too.
ousefox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Kasper De Laet Morgan Wasyl Konch Cambiasso Drinkwater James Mahrez Vardy Ulloa
Harry - LCFC Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 ok let's drop drinkwater, kasper, moore, vardy and ulloa too. I can only assume you think I'm basing my view on the last game alone. There's no way you'd be making those comparisons if you thought I had been judging form over an extended period, which is what I'm actually doing. De Laet has been mediocre this season and as such his place in team ought to be considered. The other names you've mentioned don't fit this description so I'm not asking questions of them.
Out Foxed Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 as long as they don't play negative football like those burnley tosspots, we should take these out.
Bamba's Babes Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Hamer - De Laet Morgan Moore Konceskey Cambiasso Drinkwater Mahrez Nugent/Vardy - Yes, that's a tough choice. Schlupp Ulloa
st albans fox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Mahrez has a long flight to Malawi. I doubt Nige will make the stoke mistake again. Probably applies to jeff as well. Probably explains his use of knocks yesterday though albrighton probably did his chances of figuring better by not being involved yesterday! I don't know enough about how Newcastle will set up to suggest which formation will be best for us.
Father Ted Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Wasilewski Konchesky Cambiasso James Mahrez Drinkwater Schlupp Vardy Subs: Hamer, Moore, King, Knockaert, Nugent, Ulloa, Albrighton. A lot of headaches for Pearson, I fear that we've signed too many players who are merely squad players and won't improve our side. Don't see Mahrez and Schlupp lasting full 90's either. Something must be done with the defence too, feel bringing Wasyl in may just strengthen it a touch more, Moore is still young, he will continue to learn. Let Drinkwater play in a much more advanced position. Our shape seems to be a real issue and I don't think Pearson knows what our best one is. The 4-4-1-1 that worked so well last season can't accommodate both Vardy and Ulloa.. and there is no way Vardy should be playing out wide. Serious headaches here for Nigel.
sylofox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Thinking Nige needs to start and make changes. Fine in the championship when winning most weeks. But now with the big boys they will see our week links and put pressure on them. We have a bigger better squad so we need to rotate the squad more so. Players will get pissed off seeing others have poor games and not getting a chance. Also other players will see that and lift there game. Wholesale changes will help no one but a couple will not hurt. From that others will see they are not safe so hopefully lift there game.
harpendenfox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Would seem illogical not to play our top scorer in Ulloa. Then it's a case of who plays best with him. I think Cambiasso should start too. I do think a number of conceded goals have emanated from opponent's left wing, thus it may be time to give Simpson a run. So : Schmeichel Simpson Konchesky Moore Morgan Mahrez Cambiasso Drinkwater Schlupp Nugent Ulloa Tough on Vardy who has done last little wrong
st albans fox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Good point about our weaknesses. our decent start will have made our future opponents take us more seriously and look for our weaknesses rather than concentrating on their own strengths. Unfortunately, we have weaknesses which are not too difficult to find.
sylofox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Also not normally a lover of the international breaks but think this may work for us. Players should not need hyping up for man u arsenal everton or chelsea. Many have played above themselves so instead of thinking about next saturday he has a week and two poor games to think about. Even so we are not doing as bad as some make out. Lets just hope 2 weeks today Pardew is looking for a new job. Lets also hope NP is not there number one choice.

I mean players like Knockaert can't be sitting on a bench he needs game time. A loan spell to a championship club for Knocky may do him the world of good.
