nickelbyfox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 A championship side, playing championship football... in the premier league Spot on
buzzy Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 This game doesn't change anything. We didn't expect to win. Villa is NP's swan song. what ****ing drugs are you on. liverpool are a poor team but we are even poorer. we can win most of these games we lost.
cc_star Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Never do anything without midfielders covering the defence, most/all teams play with a dedicated CDM, all our midfielders are box to box and no one tracks midfield run into our box/edge of box where Big Wes keeps gifting chances Schmeichel Get Hamer in, we need someone who can boss his area not just shot-stop Gifting 3 goals... Got no chance, just woeful And Mahrez? Has he got Toblerone for boots, couldn't cross at all, barely passed to a blue shirt all game
RowlattsFox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I don't think we can fault effort tonight but we just can't win a game if we continue to make mistakes at the back. We were the better team second half yet end up losing 3-1 due to comical defending. The second ball always falls to an opposition player, I would like to see how many goals we have conceded in this fashion this season. Is this poor clearances or midfielders not clearing up and being in the right positions? Defence is not good enough but we don't have the organisation to protect them. The big one is villa on Sunday, anything less than a point and I fear for pearson.
MC Prussian Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Like I've said before, the reoccurrence of inconsistency is costing us. One day, we're smashing five past Manchester United, then we continue not scoring for weeks, our defense crumbles, our defense finds back to more solidity, and now everything's been thrown overboard once more, just as we've started to find the net again. Coupled with too many individual errors, it's becoming a bit laughable, really. More and more players are being found out at this level and/or are simply to complacent in their playing style, completely oblivious to the standard of opposition. All the other teams are stronger, faster and more skilled. Can't do that no more. Five more games in the crucial month of December. And January can't come quick enough.
gazzer Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 look on the bright side - loads of TV money - 2 years of parachute - we haven't wasted any money on transfers - we should manage to fluke 12 points and avoid taking Derby's record - most of the players who got us promoted have had their contracts extended
Happy Fox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 The Man U game is f**king history! God we are sounding like those Forest fans! We are f**king awful, the sooner January comes the better.
Webbo Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Like I've said before, the reoccurrence of inconsistency is costing us. I'd say 7 losses out of the last 9 is pretty consistent.
DB11 Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 We are our own worst enemy. We gift the opposition goals
SamW Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 We were (marginally) better at defending corners, but our own are generally wayward. Kasper looks short on confidence, Morgan is becoming more hot-headed (not just saying that today, been saying that since Palace), not much down the wings so no service to the strikers.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Who even cares anymore, sack the board, sack the manager, sack the players, sack birchy, sack the groundsmen, hire stringer
shade Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 wow I didn't expect to come on that, I thought people would be pretty upbeat. I thought we looked good, played with purpose, looked better at creating chances other than crosses. I was quite impressed, if Wes hadnt gone I think we could have gone on to win that.
Tuna Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 look on the bright side - loads of TV money - 2 years of parachute - we haven't wasted any money on transfers - we should manage to fluke 12 points and avoid taking Derby's record - most of the players who got us promoted have had their contracts extended 2 years of parachute money and TV Money. Look at Wigan Athletic please and then look on the bright side.
1993fox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 We were the better team second half yet end up losing 3-1 due to comical defending. And comical finishing. Vardy, James, Mahrez, Ulloa - no finishing product in 45 minutes' worth of great chances.
Stevosevic Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Comedy show. Kasper and Morgan have been a joke recent weeks.
Sunbury Fox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I agree there were good moments but near goal we are clueless and in defence we keep making stupid errors. Shocked how poor Liverpool were compared to last season, 3-1 v flattering for them.
MC Prussian Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I'd say 7 losses out of the last 9 is pretty consistent. What's the record for most losses in one Premier League season? Derby County. Ouch.
hesapeepingtom Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Like I've said before, the reoccurrence of inconsistency is costing us. maynefox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 our passing was woeful. Trying to be too clever with acute medium-short passes which didn't work. Mahrez had a very poor game; worse out of the lot.Might be quite good to give Morgan a rest. The front two did okay, I was impressed with Ulloa's link-up play, very neat at times. Roll on Sunday
OxfordshireFox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 It was a good spirited performance but we've had too many of them now, we could sit here for months expecting something to change always saying how close we were and how hard the lads worked tonight.I don't think Pearson the problem there's just very little talent in the squad we need a serious injection in January if we want to remain in this division, On a brighter note excellent performance from Wasilewski tonight.
Richmondfox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Wes not taking ownership, sticking his stupid leg out with a half arsed attempt. Why didn't anyone shout out for him to leave it. He didn't need to foul Lambert as other players could've gotten back. Cambiasso flatters to deceive, his passes aren't that great, he doesn't play passes to peoples strengths but he looks confident when doing them so he must be good. James looked good, shame it wasn't Drinky having a go with those chances. I thought we looked good when De Leat was on the overlap. This one is on the players not Pearson. Our players don't look as sharp, they aren't reading the ball cutting out passes or making quick moves until down to 10 men. Owen kills any enjoyment, he could make a threesome boring.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 A night of jokes. Cambiasso's miss..because he's Cambiasso he'll probably get away scot free on here. Imagine if it had been Schlupp or Nugent! Morgan's miskick then his daft sending off Kasper's terrible handling. What will be overlooked (of course) is the fact that we had no runners marking Lallana, Gerrard or Henderson..all three, completely unmarked and all three..midfielders... For all the effort in the world, we look every bit a relegation team. And that was against a Liverpool side absolutely there for the taking. Cue the usual excuse merchants.
Merging Cultures Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Definitely not woeful, the individual errors did us in. We had fight, but we don't have the space we had in the Championship to create the chances. Up until Morgan's sliding block, I was enjoying the game. Once he was off, we seemed to turn up a gear, still without the needed quality though. We need Albrighton in. We need more crosses going into Ulloa. Mahrez can slide a ball through, but can't cross.
steveherbe Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I thought we played ok, except of course for calamity morgan and that JOKE of a goal keeper. Surely Nige will drop him now. Thought Cambiasso was class, as was James. And why did Algeria send the crap Mahrez back, can we have the one we sent out, ie the one that can control a ball. Impressed with Schlupp as well. Finally, is Adam Smith that bad a keeper that twat Dane keeps him out of the squad. I cant even bring myself to mention his name. You're shit aaaaarrrggghh. Everytkme he takes a goal kick from now on. And we thought Ricardo was bad.....
