Adster Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Everyone who attends this game will be going in the knowledge that they might see us get a result. With the vast majority within the knowledge we'll probably lose.
Leicesterpool Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Perhaps another fluke result 3-1 Leicester.
Mark_w Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Perhaps another fluke result 3-1 Leicester. Did you enjoy today out of interest?
Leicesterpool Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Did you enjoy today out of interest? To be honest not really was disturbed how poor Leicester were today especially second half.
Mark_w Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 To be honest not really was disturbed how poor Leicester were today especially second half. Must be nice knowing one of your teams are probably staying up though. Shame about Nuneaton.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 More chance of Top letting Kingfox fly his helicopter than us getting anything out of this. Our complete inability to defend will cost us dearly.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 They could have an off day, remember they've lost to Stoke this season. They're going to need to really have an off day and we have to be at our very best plus maybe some good fortune and who knows what'll happen. That's why we keep coming back.
Donut Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 This isnt the same as Man City bringing down teams for the FA and Capital One Cups This is a team battling to catch Chelsea in the Premiership title race, and theyre going to be firing on all cylinders for this one. It marks a run of games that theyll be looking to take maximum points from, and its more than likely this game will be wrapped up comfortably after an hour. Got to be looking towards 2 or 3-0 Man City im afraid.
glenelgfox Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 The way we are performing 3 or 4 nil to them will be a good result for us. This season which was so positive after the Man U win has unravelled in such a way and so quickly that not even the most pessimistic City fan could have seen this happening. We do not look like we could even be competitive in the Championship at present and there could not be a team in any division that has less a percentage of possession than us or a team more devoid of creativity than the current LCFC line-up. Fvckin depressing!
ozleicester Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 This is Leicester we are talking about... we beat Man utd, we challenged Chelsea, we were more than competitive against The Arsenal and Everton. We will win this! 2-0 to the Only Citeh!!
ozleicester Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 25-1 City Lampard for them. FFS! .. who was marking Lampard!!!
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 On paper we should get thrashed, but this could, could be one of them games where against all the odds and every prediction on earth we nick it, we've played 4 top 6 teams at home and got 5 points, let's have a go, get stuck in to them and see what happens. Goes without saying we need to play 3 in the middle, and while a lot of our players are really under performing at present, I don't see what we have that's better to come in and improve the team, Wood and Albrighton did basically nothing between them when they came on, just huffed and puffed. Wes in for Moore, Captain so goes without saying, all the moaning about calamity Wes etc, the bloke's made mistakes but no centre forward has dominated our defense aerially like Benteke did last night, given that Wes had Lukaku in his back pocket against Everton he's seemingly the only defender we have that's capable of competing against big, strong centre forwards and going some way to nullifying the punt up to them. Schlupp at left back for the (probably) suspended Konch, so then I'd probably go with Mahrez on the left and Albrighton/Knockaert/Vardy/Nugent on the right with Ulloa up top on his own (will have to be Wood as a lone striker if he's injured). The only player I'd 'drop' is James, he's just frustrated me too much since his run in the team, every time he goes near a dead ball it's just depressing, there's no doubt both King and Hammond did a lot better when they were in the team, so my 11, though there are a lot of changes, only 1 is personal preference (Hammond for James), with the change in formation and players set to return/will be missing enforcing the others. King moving forward when we have the ball and dropping back when we lose it/never had it in the first place, so a 4-3-2-1 without the ball and 4-2-3-1 with it. Kasper Simpson Was Wes Schlupp Hammond King Cambiasso Nugent/Vardy Mahrez Ulloa 2-2
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 more realistic than "we've got a chance" we're discussing what we think will happen in the game, i think we'll lose. am i still getting 3 trains with an outrageous hangover to watch us lose? yes. To be fair, that's impressive.... Good lad..
MC Prussian Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 On paper, this is a David vs. Goliath affair. Too many fans give up hope too easily. We'll have to face the crème de la crème eventually, why not bother turning up for what could be a great game of football? Schmeichel needs to start against his former club, I think he could deliver the game of his lifetime. Morgan is back, I thought Simpson played very well yesterday and I'd take him over De Laet for this one. And Moore over Wasilewski, despite his horrendous error in marking Clarke. Konchesky at LB. Cambiasso with either James or King in the middle, Schlupp and Mahrez on the flanks. Up front it's looking a bit bleak. Ulloa could be out for this match, that leaves us with Nugent/Vardy or Wood/Vardy or Wood/Nugent. God knows how such a pairing should undo the Man City defense of Kolarov, Zabaleta, Clichy, Kompany and/or Demichelis. Alternatively, a defensive-minded 4-3-3 (close to a 4-5-1) could do the trick. Three central midfielders clearing the middle of the park and the two wingers helping out in the back, as well. That leaves one striker up front. But please don't hoof. And I also hope without Agüero, the Citizens will have mercy on us.
benpicko Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 25-1 City Lampard for them. Lampard to score 25 goals? 36 and able to play a match like that, wow
Babylon Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Simpson Wes Was Schlupp King James Cambiasso Albrighton Mahrez Ulloa
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Simpson Wes Was Schlupp King James Cambiasso Albrighton Mahrez Ulloa Thats my team..
Steve Earle Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Agree with all those who say we need t play three in the middle, for this and just about every game at this level. Trouble is, when we tried it we didn't look like scoring, or keeping clean sheets. Maybe it's because our players aren't good enough?!? Schmeichel De Laet Wes Upson (Liam if we have to) Schlupp Cambiasso Drinky James Mahrez Vardy Ulloa
RowlattsFox Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 The city defence is there to be got at especially without Kompany, will he be back by then? But if we go to attack we'll get murdered. City without Aguero can be a little pedestrian and try to walk the ball on by passing around the box. Best chance is to try and frustrate them and let em pass from side to side. Not something I can see us doing though, we are the least organised team in the league. We'll probably score first and lose 4-1.
Dickov22 Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 We cannot go 442 for this surely. Hope to see Drinkwater back in the side. Kasper Simpson Upson Morgan Schlupp Cambiasso Drinkwater James Mahrez Vardy Ulloa
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 I'm normally upbeat but let's be Frank whatever players we choose whatever the system we are in for our first spanking of the season
Soar Fox Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Simpson Wes Was Schlupp King James Cambiasso Albrighton Mahrez Ulloa Bit risky to play against Man City without a goalkeeper Babs.
Raj Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Anyone who thinks we won't get raped needs a Drs appointment
Alf Bentley Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Simpson Wes Was Schlupp King James Cambiasso Albrighton Mahrez Ulloa You've just saved me a few minutes typing up my team there, mate. I'd also be inclined to keep King in the team after the Man City match. We've had a few games trying 4-4-2 and it isn't working. It's making for more exciting matches and allowing us to score a few goals, but we're sacrificing too much possession and our defence isn't up to the pressure that it's being put under at this level. We need to go back to 3 central midfielders to keep possession better, but this formation gives us some threat on the wings - and King (& Cambiasso to a lesser extent) are capable of getting into forward positions to support Ulloa. Vardy off the bench for pace, and presumably Drinkwater will come back into the team at some point - only NP will know when his performances are likely to improve, but they were certainly poor before he was dropped. I'd bring Konch straight back in at LB after he's served his suspension, then choose between Schlupp and Albrighton for the 2nd wing position. Konch has surprised me this season - much more solid than I'd expected.
kingcarr21 Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 4-4-2 has proved that the midfield hardly string any passes together. Its all hoof ball and have Vardy run onto it. Too predictable and too easy to defend against. For me Cambiasso can pick a pass and needs to play a slightly more advanced role. He plays as box to box midfielder he doesnt last the 90 minutes. Man City, we certainly dont look like getting anything against these but no Aguero is a small boost our way. Lets just have a go and hope we can cause an upset. Kasper Simpson Was Moore Schluup King James Cambiasso Albrighton Knockaert/Mahrez Ulloa Not sure if Mahrez could do a job on the left but think Albrighton needs to play. Have Simpson and Schluup assist in the attacking play and King and James help them out when theyve gone forward. Cambiasso to pick out the defence splitting passes for wingers and Ulloa to feed off. People suggesting Hammond is main reason for our slump in form but i would argue King would be a good shout aswel. We need some passing taking place in the middle of the pitch and i feel some neat triangles between King, James and Cambiasso could work quite well. If Cambiasso is tiring then lets get Drinkwater back into the team. Best midfielder last season just needs game time to build his confidence. He scores a goal like the Watford game last season in the last minute that will boost him massively. Lets not be scared of Man City and make a good account of ourselves. Ive seen others suggest dropping Ulloa. Have a word. Our only goal threat at the moment. Lets supply him with quality balls and give him half a chance to get on the scoresheet. Sorry babs i didnt see your post but pretty much agree
