iancognito Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Play 4-4-2 and start attacking sides Nigel you idiot. Two Weeks Later... Stop playing 4-4-2, pack the midfield, we're too open, ARGH MAN CITY! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! I love this forum. I've given up saying it. They moaned when he tinkered, they moaned when the team stayed the same. Against West Brom the fans sitting behind me moaned about no Mahrez, against Liverpool they sat there going "here he goes again, waste of space, giving it away" Kasper Simpson/RDL Waz Wes Jeff King Cambiasso Drinkwater Albrighton Mahrez Vardy Moore has no positional sense and has now been responsible for 4 goals due to Division One defending. De Laet has been okay in the last couple of games before Villa and should probably come back in if he's recovered. Apart from his two breaks against Sunderland, James and his dogs#it set pieces have been poor. Get 3 in the middle of the park but keep the width with Albrighton & Mahrez. At some point, we'll get the rub of the grren, something will go in off someone's arse or we'll get a dodgy pen that turns a game. Far worse teams than us have got out of worse situations than this.
Foxey id Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 I know their better than us but Southampton are playing the same formation we have been playing tonight. And losing
Sunbury Fox Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Not any more and it is 4-2-3-1, same as Newcastle deployed v Chelsea.
lgfualol Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Would any of our players get onto their bench?
Dr The Singh Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Would any of our players get onto their bench? To clean it maybe!!
fuchsntf Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Its a win win situation, nobody gives us a titantic not hitting an iceberg of a chance. So close your eyes and make a wish. You never know....
Phube Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 The only real question is, is what long standing record of Man City's are we gonna help break?
veezeeblue Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 FFS! .. who was marking Lampard!!! :xmaslaugh:
benpicko Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Play 4-4-2 and start attacking sides Nigel you idiot. Two Weeks Later... Stop playing 4-4-2, pack the midfield, we're too open, ARGH MAN CITY! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! I love this forum. It's the fact that it takes three or so matches for him to figure out that it's not working. Of course fans are retarded when it comes to picking the team. The fact that he's actually changed to 4-4-2 and stuck with it when we're getting ****ed doesn't mean that he's the one in the right. Changing formations every week doesn't work, neither did the diamond. Don't stick with it for multiple weeks when we can't even get a shot on goal. 4-4-2, we're getting chances, which is why everybody wanted it, but we're vulnerable and the midfield is useless. Don't stick with it for 3 matches. There's a middle ground.
Dan Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Give me Schlupp up against him than Konchesky any day, say what you will about his technical ability. That's one of the battles I'd expect Schlupp to dominate to be honest. In terms of team, I'd pretty much agree with all of that aside from Schlupp in for RDL. Maybe Drinky in for Hammond, but that one would be a coin toss for me. Really? Jesus Navas? Seriously? Thoughts on starting Wood and Ulloa up front? I know it makes no sense considering we can't cross for shit, and we should go 451, but this is about the only combination we haven't tried so far. And both are better finishers than Vardy and Nuge. It's so crazy it just might work! Wouldn't have a shot all game.

RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! I love this forum. It's become fairly obvious that we don't have the quality at this level to pull off 4-4-2, and became obvious in the last few games. It's not really that ridiculous a thought pattern. I'm firmly in the 4-3-3 camp now.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Play the U21's could not be any worse. At least they know how to cross a ball. If they get beat 8 - 0 at least we can say it was not the first team. Some pride at least. Play the U21's could not be any worse. At least they know how to cross a ball. truebluethroughandthrough Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Lost this easily. Why? Jon Moss refereeing this. Those who dont remember, Forest away August 2011. Kasper double yellow and disgusting handball decision. Really wank This has depressed me. I was there that day and those decisions were fooking madness. I was convinced he'd been paid... Hopefully, after he watched that game back, he was riddled with guilt and has been longing for the opportunity to put things right.
Fox Ulike Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Play 4-4-2 and start attacking sides Nigel you idiot. Two Weeks Later... Stop playing 4-4-2, pack the midfield, we're too open, ARGH MAN CITY! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! I love this forum. I think it was more of a case of: "Stop being ultra-defensive Pearson you idiot…" Two weeks later… "Pearson you idiot stop leaving us wide open." The key point which we both agree, is that Pearson should stop being an idiot. His reaction to criticism of the diamond has been that of a 9 year-old child, who has just gone from one extreme to another. Like when you tell your child to ‘be quiet’, and so they then just refuse to talk for days! He just needs to play a formation that is defensively resilient without removing all the attacking flair. It’s really not that hard.
Carl the Llama Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Pearson is playing formations and players he knows won't win to spite a few fans who complained about his tactics. Seems legit.
Stevosevic Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 It won't impact the result but is Kompany expected to be fit for this?
Dickov22 Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 It won't impact the result but is Kompany expected to be fit for this? It might affect the result because Mangala is dogshit. If we can find the real Jamie Vardy in time for Saturday he could give him a tough time

Seems legit. ah !! you have picked that out also, I thought I was the only one had seen through NPs dastardly plan. It does amaze me, how some fans actually believe their plans and player choices will solve everything and all of it is so simple.
The Railway Man Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 4-3-2-1 Kasper Simpson Morgan Was Schlupp (only because we have no one else) Cambiasso James Drinkwater Vardy Mahrez Ulloa
filbertway Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Really? Jesus Navas? Seriously? If it turns out Schlupp is LB and Navas tears him a new one I will hold my hands up and admit I over-estimated his physical and defensive ability.

Fans on football forums do tend to discuss their ideas about players and formations. It’s kind of what the forum is for. Do you have an opinion cos your post is just empty space. For me, if we could stop playing a formation abandoned by most Premiership sides around 20 years ago it would be a start. Nothing more or less. No-one is saying it would ‘solve everything’. I just want us to stop losing every game. At this rate, the opposition fans will soon join in the “one Nigel Pearson” chants if he continues to make life so easy for them.
