ScouseFox Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 very harsh not to take a point from that. cambiasso was immense, best man in the pitch by a street. unlucky, but play like that more often than not and we've got a chance. ref was turd, city fans shite, to
nettle Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 Change of manager now might give us a lift then buy some better quality players in January.
whoareyaaa Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 I think most of you have forgot we just played Man City what was you expecting. it was a good performance and we was unlucky to come away with nothing again, we have lost by one goal once more at least we are not getting battered every week 3 or 4 nil we are starting to get it together a couple of additions in Jan and I think we will be fine.
Guest Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 As I said before we have a squad of Prem players but a team needs 2 or 3 exceptional players. Definitely a top attacker and a top defender. We need some height too.
MooseBreath Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 Manchester City were piss poor and still beat us. 4-5-1 made us look more organised, but we didn't have a single shot on target until Ulloa Powell and Knockaert were all on and I'm pretty sure we were no longer playing 4-5-1. It's as I said elsewhere, we'll struggle to create playing a flat 4-5-1 every game. We need a player with good attacking instinct and very good wwork rate to play just in front of the middle two. He needs to be able to score goals, create chances and put in a shift tracking back. His name is David Nugent, by the way. But the question is, who do we play up front alone? Neither Ulloa nor Vardy look like a natural fit. Vardy perhaps slightly more so than Ulloa but to be an effective lone striker at this level requires a bit more ability than Vardy has shown of late, today being a good example, it was a good performance from Vardy, just not quite good enough.
lgfualol Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 Morgan doesn't seem like an influential captain imo.
MC Prussian Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 How on earth have we ended up so much worse than Burnley. Something very wrong about that. How are five points difference "so much worse"?
old koppite Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 Fine margins again . We almost played the game perfectly, but despite all the effort and more possession we lose to another defensive mistake . Not sure i buy they could have stepped up a gear- fact is they didn't , but they tried to second half to secure an easier win and we showed more determination when defending. Amazed by how little they troubled our goal. Afraid I think NP should go, just because sometimes in life a change has to be made to give fresh impetus .
justfoxes Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 We did score first for the three previous games before this... But we've also wasted chances too and some were goals that should have been scored easy goals wasted !
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 Going to stick my head over the parapet an say that Hamer is legitimately a better all round goal keeper than Kasper. *Runs for cover*
cc_star Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 Change of manager now might give us a lift then buy some better quality players in January. If you watched the game you'd see the players didn't need a lift We just need to play that system Vs lesser teams Going to stick my head over the parapet an say that Hamer is legitimately a better all round goal keeper than Kasper. *Runs for cover* Miles better!
MC Prussian Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 Morgan doesn't seem like an influential captain imo. I concur. Should give the armband to Cambiasso - Morgan looks up to him, so does everybody else.
DennisNedry Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 Pearson was spot on today with the team and set up imo. Played well and kept going till the death, had a £150 million team of Champions feigning injury to waste time etc. Hamer better than Kasper at dealing with crosses. BUT Another defensive howler leaving Lampard unmarked 5 yards out. Didn't test Joe Hart once.
MooseBreath Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 If you watched the game you'd see the players didn't need a lift We just need to play that system Vs lesser teams Miles better! Who would you play upfront? Who would you play in midfield?

If you play someone like that then yes but It was more just a flat shut Manchester City out the game for as long as possible today. I don't think Nugents good enough to play there week in week out at this level but certainly the best option in the squad, at the moment. Although I'm pretty sure he's struggling with injury,
Manwell Pablo Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 If you watched the game you'd see the players didn't need a lift We just need to play that system Vs lesser teams Miles better! He really isn't He's better in Set Piece situations but then most professional keepers are!
nettle Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 If you watched the game you'd see the players didn't need a lift We just need to play that system Vs lesser teams Miles better! I did watch it and Man city didn't need to get out of first gear. Easy win for them.
5waller5 Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 How are five points difference "so much worse"? At our current form those 5 points will take us 26 games to get. That's assuming Burnley don't get another point. I'd say that's significantly worse.
The Doctor Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 Pearson lost the dressing room? lol - what's this caller on? Decent performance, one lapse in concentration but that's being said too often
AnotherShitSeason Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 three players short of safety but by january will be too late. Plain to see months ago by everyone. Well almost everyone.
shade Posted 13 December 2014 Posted 13 December 2014 Pearson needs to go his record is indefensible, period. 2 points from 33 is a disgrace. ah you're american, that explains why you know nothing about soccer then!

A goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball: • while the ball is between his hands or between his hand and any surface (e.g. ground, own body) • while holding the ball in his outstretched open hand • 5 or 6 times I counted over 10 seconds one time he had it in his hands 18 seconds!
