Will we be relegated?

So, form has seen an upturn of late and we seem to be getting back to the side we were at the start of the season. There also seems to be some interesting transfer activity going on, with Kramaric looking set to sign, and rumours of players like Lennon, Defoe etc.

So, simple question, do you think we will stay up this season, or will we be relegated? Interested to see what the overall feeling is on the forum.

I think we'd stay up without additional signings believe it or not. As I've said before we suffered a massive drop in confidence after the united game, the Burnley equaliser maybe being the catalyst. it was an awful run we had but there is no way we're the worst side (or 2nd or 3rd worst in this league)

Drew with Everton, shouldve beat arsenal, played Chelsea off the park for an hour, spanked United and drew with Liverpool after them scoring two free goals.

Every other poor result bar Swansea we've been nothing but unlucky and certainly haven't been played off the park (Swansea aside)

Totally complacency in the summer transfer window has cost us dearly!!... I'm sorry but I think it's a bit too late now to bring in players (never mind how good they are) and to expect the team to gel immediately (which is what we'll need to happen)... I believe we'll have a good go at survival but will finish in the bottom 3...

I still think we'll go down, unfortunately. Half the season gone and we've got 3 wins and 14 points. Our lack of experience could also cost us in a relegation dogfight - if you've been there before it makes it easier. Recent results have somewhat clouded how crap we've been for much of this season.

 

Having said that, you never know. We have a good team spirit and a couple of genuine match winners. If we beat Villa on Saturday and other results go away I might start believing again.

We look good enough to stay up - that run of 2 points in 13 games was baffling, we played well enough in there to come out with 5 times as many points. I reckon we'll do it.

I've voted Survival, but I think it'll be mighty close. I think it will be Burnley, Hull and Palace for the drop with us coming in 16th - 2 points above the drop zone

I think there's six teams that are in the battle, ourselves included.

However even though the table says different at the minute, I honestly think there are at least three worse teams than us in this league, Burnley, WBA and Hull.

It will go down to the wire but I think we have enough in our squad to avoid relegation. The next three home games are massive.

For the record, I voted for survival. However, I think that all hinges on how things go in the coming weeks. We've stopped the rot and given ourselves a good platform to build on over the next few weeks, but that will mean nothing if we don't start picking up points quickly. Villa and Stoke at home should be viewed as absolutely crucial games and if the team play to the top-end of their ability, there's no reason why we can't give ourselves a fighting chance.

Trying to not get carried away by our recent form this time. I think we're probably going to just fall short, but I wouldn't rule us out of staying up for one second, especially if we actually land Kramaric.

we're good enough to stay up (can think of about 5 or 6 teams that are worse than us). just depends whether we can turn these performances into wins and if our luck turns as well

Something dramatic will have to change from the first half of the season.

We have got to start beating the teams in and around us, and hopefully the upturn in form in the last 3 games can continue.

I voted relegated, I just think that poor run has given us to much to do, yes we are only a few points off safety, but we are going to have to win the majority of the games left, and sorry but I can see us doing better second half of the season, but not enough to survive, but on this subject I am happy to be wrong.

For me it depends on whether we carry on the run against Villa.  Even at the half way point of the season, because of our horrid run these games now really are must win.  When you take out games against Chelsea (H), Man U (A), Arsenal (A), Man City (A) which are likely candidates for zero points, then we've got 14 games to save ourselves.  You'd think we need perhaps a bare minimum of 21 points to survive, thats 6 wins from 14 and a few draws. We've got to make every single home game count.
