Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 He'd be a better player under Nige than saggy arry
Stuliasz Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 I don't think City fans would take to him. His work rate has always been a bit suspect and he can be incredibly frustrating with his end product. He does have some talent but hasn't fully realised his potential yet.
roblcfc84 Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Good player just needs someone to focus the ability
kingfox Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Inconsistent and hasn't lived up to his hype when he first burst on the scene. Like Knockaert & Mahrez he is capable of flashes of brilliance, but doesn't show it enough.
MPH Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Is this the chap that started out at MK dons? If so, i think we were linked with him back then....
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Not the type of player we need, to get us up the table.
Tielemans63 Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Not the type of player we need, to get us up the table. Worst rhyme ever.
Danizen Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Isn't he on about £50k/week? Would he take a pay cut?
Tuna Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 A good impact player, lost his way a bit at QPR would definitely take him.
LCCFox96 Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 I wouldn't be too happy with Hoilett. We need consistent performers at the top level and Hoilett hasn't shown that since he left Blackburn. Would be a gamble for us.
Vindaloo FOX Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 A risk but if we can get him playing like he did at Blackburn than it would be a risk well took .
LCCFox96 Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 A risk but if we can get him playing like he did at Blackburn than it would be a risk well took . I guess so but three things make me doubt/become less confident about this proposed move. Just my opinions and I may be reading too much into it but hey: - 1) The mercury article in question says Redknapp wishes to sell Hoilett to fund a Defoe move, strengthening QPR's squad. Do we want to buy one of their cast offs to fund a move for a big first team signing for them? (I know it's paper talk but hypothetically). 2) The mercury article, amongst many other sources, states we are also interested in Defoe. If we were to sign Hoilett we potentially might not have the funds available to complete a move for Defoe or another striker of that quality (Okazaki for examples sake). If we were interested in another expensive striker like Defoe or Okazaki would we be looking at Hoilett too rather than a cheaper option like Maloney who has also been mooted? Possibly not. 3) Hoilett hasn't shown anything close to his Blackburn form for years. He was mooted a real bright spark as a youngster but has fizzled out so is a massive gamble imo - but like you say one that could work out.
