ulloa was a bit bipolar today, had some great moments like the assist for the goal and the general winning the air battle against clark. but he was also very lazy and lathargic. and he didnt get himself on the end of any chances so it cant be said he had that good a game

only got a new bumper contract three months ago though. they're stuck with him til they go down I'd imagine. terrific.

haha did not know that. fantastic

Really pleased with the amount of chances we created today but the only way to describe our play in the final third is totally retarded. Sometimes (Ulloax2, Nugentx2) it looks like our strikers genuinely don't want to score. What the **** was Ulloa doing today?

Still not really that arsed tho. 3 points.

Getting fouled - definite penalty.

Came up with my 3 kids from London and we had a great day. I know Villa were shocking but we just don't look like a bottom of the table team. Thought Was was immense today. If it's true that we are signing a new centre half, it must be Wes who is dropped, even though he also played well. Thought Knocky and Nuge were also v good. If only Nuge could finish! Ulloa looked unfit and Vards lacking in confidence. Let's hope we win that work permit appeal! Villa are awful, amazing they have the points they do. Guzan is their only decent player.

Very proud of the team again. Fighting performance and a deserved result.

We're back in it. One Mr Pearson.

I've seen some very loose interpretations of assists on this forum that is the best so far. A overhead into the middle of nowhere that is poorly headed clear into the path of an opposition full back is most definitley not an assist.

tbf I imagine if it was Vardy he would've tried a shot or something daft

He couldn't of done much more with it to be fair but to call it an assist is just funny.

it was only a slight touch off hutton tbf. pretty clever play to keep the ball dangerous. he was however probably our worst player today, but that's not because he was particularly bad.

Nah for me Alan Hutton has had a bit of a mare there, should try and head it wide, or at least hang it up in the air to gain a bit of time for people to get their bodies between ball and goal. Only seen it a couple of times though so we'll see shortly.

haha yeah you were right, from the kop didn't quite get the angle of it all but on motd you can see ulloa flicks it into the middle and its an awful clearance, not just a slight deflection

How biased can you be?! He fluffed the chance and it was never a pen. Poor game from him today, but usually he's good and a very good finisher.

Seeing it back it seemed like a lack of confidence from Ulloa not to hit that first time, the sort of chance he took at the start of the season.

Ive seen this 4 times now, the commentator was wrong, the defender came storming in from behind, this was a penalty.

Hammondscwas also a penalty, James tackle unfortunate but red, villa player aggresive body contact, red also not yellow,

then red.

Knoccky had good game...He will keep us up.

Wasi bloody another good game, upto now our best player, since december t

Electric atmosphere in the ground for the last 10 minutes.

Could have done without it tbh;nerves in rags, still got the twitches

Great win just what we needed, defenders look solid and settled again and Hamer has been playing really well since his inclusion!

Don't know if it was the plan to let Villa have more possession and kill their counter attack game but I said to my grandad a 1-0 would have been enough considering they can't score goals at the minute, hopefully with the confidence from this run we can go and get 3 more points playing stoke next week

This is only from watching a stream and then MOTD, twice :) , but Villa were awful.

Their midfield were terrible. What happened to the Cleverly who was a bright young prospect? He was dreadful.

Their attack was toothless. Benteke didn't have a sniff.

If it hadn't been for Guzan we'd have beaten them by a few.

I heard on the stream their fans chanting "You don't know what you're doing" and "Lambert out" when Lambo made a substitution they didn't like.

On that form, you would have to think Villa will be in a relegation scrap for the rest of the season.

We, on the other hand, looked confident, created chances and our fans chanted support for our manager.

Such a contrast. How was it only victory by a single goal?

Wow I've never seen such a depressed bunch than those on the Villa forum! Stuck with a rubbish manager, an owner that doesn't want them, 1 goal in 6 games (11 in 21! :o ) and fighting amongst their own fans.

Bad times for the Villa

To be honest, we thrashed them yesterday. God knows how it ended up only one-nil.

We looked SO much better and created chances.

Gotta feel for Nugent actually. It shows just what fine margins football can be. If that snapshot ended up hitting the underside of the bar and went IN, we'd all be raving about it.

We look a better side when Nugent plays. Leicester's success under Pearson is founded upon energy. Getting the ball up the field quickly and breaking with pace. Nugent aids this by continually running and making space. He's a very unselfish player.

James will be a big loss..again, he's got energy and gets around the field effortlessly. That's crucial at this level.

Finally, hats off to Albrighton. His assists could prove crucial to us and will turn into goals when big Kramaric finally plays.

Excellent effort.

Agree with all of that Col

Thought yesterday's performance (as a team) was the best we have played in weeks at home and, on the whole, I felt a bit more assured that our defence was a bit more sound too. Still want us to obviously buy people as - albeit offside - my heart was in my mouth when we let Benteke through.

I just think the shame about the whole thing was the referee. Absolutely appalling. Throughout the entire afternoon he made bad decision after bad decision (for both teams). I think Leo's was definitely a penalty and having seen Deano's appeal back, that could/should have been too. Matty's red card - I know some may disagree with me here but I've seen worse two footed challenges by more senior PL players and they get away with it. He even won the ball upon my first seeing of it and I still think he got the ball before the man on replays (which I thought Alan Shearer should be the last person to pass comment on for his challenge on Neil Lennon all those years ago). Finally, Clark's disgusting behaviour to Matty for his second yellow merited a red on its own. Farcical. Worst officiating display at home all season in my opinion.
