Torten Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Absolutely immense today and the best defensive performance this season. Him and Wes have developed a real partnership and the latter has erased his bad run of form.
dayday Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 From were I sat Matty James had gone in with intent,he is not the brightest midfielder, gave away the needless free kick away against Burnley that cost us 2 points, and could of again today.
foxfanazer Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Massive result! Created enough chances to win 5 games so we could definitely do with sharpening up in front of goal. Think it's mainly the decision making letting us down. Great to keep a clean sheet, Was and Wes are beasts! Hamer's command of his area was spot on again today. Same again next week gentleman

By stopping their attack, well away from goal, with about a minute to go? Hardly in danger of costing us 2 points by going in for that challenge.
yorksfox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 A definite sending off for James. Improved defence largely (IMO) down to having a commanding goalkeeper who calmly deals with situations which in turn gives confidence to the back four. As I have mentioned on this site before I have always considered Kasper something of a liability, having watched him playing for Leeds in the past. Likewise Cambiasso, a strange signing, perhaps the departure of "Director of Football" Robinson and Kasper's injury could prove decisive for our season.
iancognito Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 If we'd had a finisher today, this could have been 4 or 5, Villa were shocking
Renart Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Was has been wrestling with a bear again! (probably trying to cut the bear's nails)
Foxylady64 Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 So who was sat near the tunnel......what happened?
Raj Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 We were great today, should have won by loads, terrible miss by agent.BUT as usual we didn't get punished and end up drawing which would have been a travesty. Thought James tackle was just hard not a red but will wait to see on tv! Up the city
Matt Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Played good, nothing special but scrappy 1-0's is all I ask for (Today wasn't scrappy, but it was very good either - take nothing away from the lads though, 3 points > Performance) Very good defensive performance, albeit they didn't have alot threaten then, but the made sure nothing could threaten them. I thought Nugent's misses were gonna cost us - and no this is pointing the finger or my hate for Nugent and pouncing reason's to slag him off (I must say he makes it easy for me to do so though) but he scored a screamer against Liverpool, a brilliant goal, then can't finish a tap in or a simple headed on the back post, it wasn't just a miss either though they were miles wide (Or so they seemed to me, I'll make further judgement when I see replays). On that note didn't think Ulloa looked up to that much today either but was always a threat. Knocky MOTM for me, how has this lad not been in the team for so long?! Impressed with Albrighton and Lawrence (Seemed a little greedy but good). Didn't miss Cambiasso and I think we'd have played better with Mahrez but we didn't exactly miss him as such. C'mon City, push on now, we can do this - The players are on their way to proving me wrong after slagging them off, don't stop now! I welcome it!
Buzzell Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Three vital points. Hope we can kick on on get another 3 against Stoke next week. Shame the results didn't go our way today.
Matt Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Three vital points. Hope we can kick on on get another 3 against Stoke next week. Shame the results didn't go our way today. They could have been worse. If Tottenham beat Palace, i'll consider it a very good weekend. Draws in some games would have been welcome but atleast 1 team lost out in the games concerning teams around us. (QPR and Hull)
Monsell1976 Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 If we'd won 4-0 (which we could've easily) even those saying we were bad would be raving. We played well and won comfortably. We have a problem with converting chances which is why we're getting finishers in during this window if we can. Disagree. Albrighton and Knocky played at least as well as Mahrez and schlupp. The fact is we didn't score 3 or 4, and there was plenty of nervous moments, just villa were poor, so comfortable probaly a bit kind, deserved to win yes.I didn't say the two lads played poorly, but looked short of game time, and we did miss the two in my opinion, as they would have had a field day, the form they are in, and the score might have been more comfortable. As a match, we played very patchy, giving the ball away, that against other teams on another day, would without a doubt be punished, we have played far better this season and lost. Again doesn't doesn't matter how we played or who played well, we won and I am more than happy with that.
Tielemans63 Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Marcin has been immense these last few weeks. What a signing he's been and we got him for nowt if I remember correctly? Thought a few players, the wingers especially, put in the kind of performance that suggests the lads who didn't play today won't just walk back in to the side.
Raj Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Agree about knocky..he was immense today. Ulloa's workrate is brilliant but he should be in the middle scoring chances that nugent misses!!! The lad actually does TOO much fir the team and not enough fir himself if that makes sense My god the atmosphere at selhurst parkwho gives a fook?

sdb Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Massive result. We still look v nervy and leave so many spaces open in the midfield. Great shift from all but lacking quality still.
coalvillefox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2014-2015/form-table/full form has definitely picked up
J.Lisemore Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Its not like we were even hanging on near the end, they were awful. Ulloa should have done better when he had the chance to shoot in the second half, hopefully Kramaric is on the end of them ones.
HitchinFox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 I've just seen a comment saying Hammond had a poor game. Couldn't disagree more. Still amazes me how some people judge a performance so totally differently. I've been one of those that have criticised Hammond in previous games. Against Arsenal, for example, he looked like he was going to cost us a goal at any moment. He was atrocious. Today, however, he was quality. Genuinely pleased for him and hope him coming off early today was purely precautionary.
Zlo Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Happy for your victory today! If Krama was in i belive he would score at least one or two goals! Foxes going up up up!!!! www.hocuri.com
Raj Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Hammond for some reason makes the midfield seem more solid. He does alot of good work and we seem to get better results with him in the team. As i said he's underated
