Knocky going on loan - He says No!

Some baffling posts in here. Knockaert is never going to be a regular top flight footballer.

Some people looking at him through tinted specs as they like him as a bloke.

Too slow for the Premier League unfortunately, as a winger in a counter-attacking team at least.

You can't fault his technique and work-rate, but whenever I've seen him this season he's looked liked he's running through treacle.

I think he could be useful playing as a no.10 behind the striker, but Pearson has never tried him there and that won't change.

The last paragraph. We are crying out for a creative midfielder in this position at times, but Pearson can't see it.

Nothing like planning for the future or even next season in the championship. As a guess Pearson is leaving at the end of the season when we go down and knocky wants out. We should be at least tying him down to a contract so we can sell him. Where's all this value in players pearson was harping on about, because at the moment i hardly see any.

Will be really annoyed if we don't keep hold of him especially if we do go down.

Brilliant little player and still young, plenty of time to improve if he actually gets game time. I don't know why Pearson has never played him as a number 10. Just shows how clueless he is as a manager to be honest.

As people have said he doesn't have the pace to be a winger in the prem but he has the ability, vision, creativity etc to be a good number 10.

I'm sad to see Knockaert go out on loan, but nonetheless it is an opportunity for him to shine again. He's been okay for us but hasn't got all the attributes required just now.

However, I wouldn't write him off as a PL footballer just yet. He's got enough technical ability and he has age on his side but he just needs refining. I wouldn't let him go in the summer, especially if we go down.

Sad but true. He scored those two goals against Huddersfield, but that was back in 2012 now....

There’s more to playing in the Premiership that doing a few step-overs and drag-backs.

Still, I would prefer to have him in reserve than out on loan…

lol Schlupp is a terrible player, he's just very quick. Calling him limited would be kind, he's not a competent footballer at all.

Mahrez is certainly more talented but his final ball is very questionable at this admittedly early stage of his career. I understand people's excitement about him but I don't understand this idea that he's brilliant, because he isn't, yet.

Not to mention the fact that Cambiasso has been poor in the centre recently (his goal aside) and an attacking midfielder like Knockaert would give far more balance to our side.

He's been MOM in the last 3 league matches.

I actually disagree, I just don't think he fits Pearson's vision.

I think if we had a Bony-style all-round forward and played a conventional 4231/451 he'd grow nicely in to a tidy 10.

I've always felt that. He needs a run of games to build up his confidence and he needs to be free to roam but I think his vision and range of passing are excellent for his age. I see him as a Championship / lower Premiership David Silva.

But we've never really utilised that sort of player. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, we look good with two striker systems and I have no complaints with us leaving him out of that.

But to say he'll never be a top flight player? Don't agree.

This is quite a misconception. Do people not recognise Mahrez as our creative player who drifts into central positions? You can't play AK centrally and have Mahrez out on the right, they would get in eachother's way.

Besides, we saw on more than enough occasions last season that AK tends to run into cul-de-sacs and doesn't have the vision or passing range to play in that position at this level.

He might get away with his shortcomings playing in the Championship though...

Hmmm. I see him more of a young Richie Wellens.

We'll be on compo payment in the Summer - I would have thought they'd have tied him down to a new contract before now if he had any intention of wanting to stay?

lol at all three judgements you've made above. The most ridiculous of all is Cambiasso who is head and shoulders our best midfielder. Do you really think Knockaert could play centre mid in the premier league?! I like Knockeaert but come on.

Mahrez is pretty brilliant too.

Just out of interest, who do you think is good in our side? Beacause Mahrez and Cambiasso are probably the only two I can think of that have been consistently good for us this season.

Funny that players get better when they don't play.

I think he'll be fine in the Championship but he certainly didn't show anything for us that said he could be a Premier League player week in week out.

I hope he shines for Ipswich, gets them promoted and then joins up with us next season. Good deal all round.

Cambiasso and Mahrez have been 2 of our best players this season. Do you ever praise or even offer any positives regarding LCFC as a club or any of our players? Just constantly seem to be criticizing everything.

That's being very harsh.

Schlupp's finishing is atrocious but he's a very competent dribbler.

If Riyad, Andrej or Esteban did the two touch knock down to beat two defenders and get a shot off then we'd have been drooling. He gets some undeserved stick.

Posted

Mahrez and Kramaric are competent dribblers.

Schlupp has his moments but he often looks just as likely to have it bounce off his shins and go flying as to beat someone with some beautifully dragback.

Another poor and ridiculous decision from Pearson. Seems to think he has unlimited options in the squad so can afford to loan out a promising player with potential. Bad idea.

Would you rather that he rots in the development squad as he's not getting game time. I would assume there'd be a recall clause should we require him to return before the end of the season.

I would rather play him on the pitch right now. Maybe not start him, but definitely bring him on as a substitute. It couldn't hurt to give him a chance.

Come on; if you're going to throw that kind of comment about please do your research

Appearances this season, in all competitions, whether starting or off the bench.

Knockaert- 11

Albrighton- 10

Lawrence- 3

Powell- 3

So how EXACTLY does that constitute giving TL and NP and MA more of a chance than AK?

Fair does, it's more based in feeling than stats.

Though you will probably agree 3 premier league might be a bit harsh for someone who was an important player last season for us? And we collected 4 points from them 3 games too.

Believe outfield players can be recalled at any time, while goalkeepers must serve a minimum of 1 month of their 'emergency' loan term
