lifted*fox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Now we know the 3 teams joining us next season, how do we think they will adapt to the Premier League? Will we be in a battle with them at the bottom or will they struggle like QPR, Burnley and (for a long while) Leicester did this season, while we sit (reasonably) comfortably above them? Thoughts?

Finnaldo Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Norwich will stay up in my mind, not sure about the other two. Bournemouth likely to drop straight down you'd think but I wouldn't write them off until after the first few games, you can just never know.

Norwich have the nucleas of the team that went down, could go either way. Bournemouth could be similar to us or could go the way of Burnley. Watford will probably change the most but I think they'll be a management circus again and they will go down.

All depends on your transfer dealings imo. But a couple of PL experienced players and I think you could be alright. It really is an unforgiving league though

Watford will have to massively invest and look like the kind of club who'll get through more than one manager next season, it's totally unknown territory for Bournemouth and Norwich are a month behind both of them in the transfer market. That said, I think Norwich are probably the best equipped to survive of the three given they've experienced instant promotion after last season's relegation. Based on VERY early predictions, I'd say Watford will go down and Bournemouth will fight but utlimately lose out. Norwich to stay up by the skin of their teeth.
Guest ttfn Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Yeah I and many others underestimated the importance of having premier league experience in the side but those who do have experience of this league (Albrighton and Huth basically) delivered big time when it mattered. So much depends on the summer's transfer for not only the newly promoted sides but everybody who finished below 9th this year (except maybe Everton).

Norwich and Watford especially have every chance of being better than Newcastle, Sunderland, villa and us. Not to mention the likes of palace are top half sides this season, West Ham have no manager and have been shit since about November, west brom ain't all that. There's so much shit in this league these teams will decide their own fate. A bit of quality and they'll finish safe no probs.

The list isn't massive but Newcastle, Sunderland, West Brom, Aston Villa and us are the targets, there may be one or two surprises, Everton, West Ham and Stoke could have a poor season and be down that end but I wouldn't expect much different from the top half of the table.
One Legged Beaver Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Impossible to tell at this stage, but if Howe stays true to his word about no overspending on players then I can't see them fairing too well and being a bit like Burnley.
