st albans fox Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Surprised that Di Maria is set to join PSG. Honestly thought Van Gaal would've given him a chance with Depay on the other wing; not sure, but I think Di Maria's wife said that Manchester was 'boring' (might have been another player's wife). surprised? he doesnt seem to have settled and PSG wanted him when utd signed him. been on the cards for ages
Nalis Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Yeah imagine growing up in a 3rd world country where records of births aren't kept properly. What a complete idiot right? I can imagine being a year or two out but the margin of error is currently 7 years...
BlueSi13 Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Have to say, I think Manchester United are making a big mistake letting Di Maria go to PSG. Couple that with losing De Gea to Real Madrid and I think their squad is already significantly weakened compared to last season. Indeed I think it's another bad summer for the Premier League overall, yet again the top clubs seem to be spunking an absolute fortune on 'potential' rather than importing the worlds absolute best. Apart from Hazard, Aguero and arguably Rooney *ducks for cover*, I wouldn't particularly say the Premier League is blessed with world class quality at all.
jammie82uk Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 I can imagine being a year or two out but the margin of error is currently 7 years... on reading this http://edition.cnn.com/2013/02/01/sport/football/age-african-football-mbemba/ it seems his country changed his age for their own benefit, he has always claimed he was born in 1990 but seems willing to do anything to play in Europe including faking his age

I had a bit of rant on here about managers at big clubs wasting money. Fergie signed a lot of shit for around £6m-£10m, Jose signs Felipe Luis for £16m despite not needing him, hardly playing him and selling him a year later. Di Maria is another case of it. He's a fantastic player and arguably in today's market £59m wasn't too OTT for him. Basically he's been sold for a huge loss because LVG didn't know how to use him properly and get the best from him. He's a very good player attacking from deep, and LVG decided to start pushing up along side the striker, where he's not very effective. Now after a poor 6 months, after a decent start, if you ask most media outlets or Man Utd fans he's a flop and they are quite happy to lose nearly £20m on him just to get rid. Can you imagine many other clubs getting away with that without the media and fans taking them to task for spunking money up the wall. Man City are already getting stick for Sterling before he's kicked a ball. Money is football is problem, but a bigger issue is clubs wasting money with little or no thought.
ScouseFox Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 they only bought him in the first place cos they were panicking. they should basically have never bought him. oh well. hope he does well at psg what a nice looking team they're building

ScouseFox Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Even if he's a panic buy you've still got a great player, why not utilise that? cos van gaal is an idiot
FoxyJim1987 Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Whilst we are in desperate need of midfielders our opponents on saturday are signing two quality CMs. I suppose its back to the debate are we aiming to high and wasting time? We could have been lining up with Inler and Aranguiz, yet it looks increasingly like King and Drinkwater. Btw the two guys Sunderland are signing are Fer and M'Vila.
sdb Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Sunderland building a solid squad there. Would've liked either of those CM's here.

You're right, Fer was top notch for Norwich and QPR wasn't he.
FoxyJim1987 Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 You're right, Fer was top notch for Norwich and QPR wasn't he. Erm yes? Yes he was. He was one of their best players hence why despite a relegation, he stays in the prem. Just because they went down doesnt make him poor. Hes certainly as good a option as we have.

He got stick for a lot of the season from QPR fans, then once they were relegated he scored that belter and cupped his ears to the fans as if that goal made up for his months of poor performances. He didn't turn up most of the season for QPR. Quite frankly he's still living off his name of a few years ago before he joined Norwich. Playing for a fellow dutchman may see an improvement in his performances but it's in no way a guaranteed good signing.
kingcarr21 Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Fer's natural move would surely be to Man City. They would have Fer, Fernando and Fernandinho. Obviously Fer is a Pokemon and they are his evolution stages
Adster Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Fer's natural move would surely be to Man City. They would have Fer, Fernando and Fernandinho. Obviously Fer is a Pokemon and they are his evolution stages I wouldn't say that's particularly obvious
AKCJ Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Benteke's goal against Swindon today is utter filth. http://streamable.com/s1wn

The Horse's Mouth Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Di Maria leaving is fantastic news, a player of his ability being second fiddle to Ashley Young is deplorable antics.

Didn't Di Maria's wife get held at knifepoint in their home around the time of the 5-3? I don't begrudge him / her not settling to be quite honest.

JPM1983 Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Na he didn't, it was in February and was an attempted break in, cheers Google £15m loss for United, all because di Maria doesn't want to play for them any more (legitimate reasons or otherwise).
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 £15m loss for United, all because di Maria doesn't want to play for them any more (legitimate reasons or otherwise). He quite clearly didn't want to go to Old Trafford in the first place but Real wanted rid to accommodate other signings last summer, still a bloody fantastic player who'll absolutely destroy Ligue 1. PSG seem to have been interested in him for as long as I can remember, surprised he went to Yanited at all to be honest. I think he's been poorly managed more than anything in a United side completely losing their identity under that flat faced ****.

Cannot see the European performance being any better than last season.
