ozleicester Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 11.30pm - June 30th ... finalise booking for hotels in December, off to bed wake up and check FT, 7am - July 1st... Pearson sacked! Fvck this sleeping business
urban.spaceman Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 This has got to be the most insane off season I can remember as a City supporter. -Danny Simpson convicted of assault & sentenced to community service... Club suspends him pending a -3 useless youth players rent prostitutes on a club ambassadorial trip to the owner's country, racially abuse and verbally degrade them, decide to film it and share it to their friends, jeopardising the hard work of the club and the owners. All 3 sacked. -Manager sacked a month after saving us from relegation and completely out of the blue, likely as a result of the above -3 impressive and very important signings, 2 very important re-signings of players who thought they were signing to play for a manager who has now been sacked. And we've still got a month to go before the season starts!! Like many im utterly devestated and will be totally dismayed if we get an ambition less, boring manager. Hopefully the tragic events in Tunisia particularly regarding Albrighton's partner's family will lend a bit of perspective to all of the above
Ozwin Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 What a joke of a football club we are sometimes. Ridiculous. We have a great thing going and it all goes tits up while I'm on my hols. Can't wait for another 10 years of hurt before we actually come good again. Total bollocks this.
EnglishOxide Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 And what about Kevin Phillips? He won't be around much longer either. I can't help but feel that the Thais and their 'culture of honour' is behind this. I mean they believe in the healing power of monks ffs. Anybody working for them needs to mind their words and actions. They're walking on egg shells. They care more for the image of King Power than for the footballing strength of Leicester City. I actually hope the players go on strike until we get him back, as it seems painfully obvious that they haven't got a replacement ready to step up.
AyewJoking Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 had to be told by a smug Villa fan at work. I am shocked and saddened........angry. Has something actually happened or was it planned? Surely not the latter as the timing is awful. Have we signed players to lengthy contracts without them knowing Pearson would be gone days later? I'm so angry right now my initial reaction is what the fúck are the owners playing at?????????
Crazy Kop Corner Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 It looks to me as though Nigel's indiscretions were going against him during the season. I would have thought that his sons involvement in the Thailand tape was the last straw. I just wonder how the managers son being involved in that incident was viewed by them? They are very proud, honourable and religious people and would / will be looking for someone of similar qualities as their manager. I'm expecting a big name; possibly a european name which they feel will not only uphold their values but also attract big name players and raise the profile of the club.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Well this actually happened then #depressed Ditto. Was hoping to wake up from a nightmare. I woke up into one instead.
Jattdogg Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Im going to bed now to dream about sir alex turning us into a mecca within 2 years.
J.Lisemore Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Was really hoping I'd wake up to this all being a joke This is awful.
Callabinho Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 It just goes to show that this is very much the owners club. There were obviously going to be differences RE the the sex scandal, what they should have done was sit down with Nigel and properly discus things, now all of that is gone and I don't think they have any idea who they want next.
Happy Fox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33339566 Nigel Pearson's sacking by Leicester was linked to his son's role in a racist sex tape in the owners' homeland of Thailand, the BBC has learned. Pearson's son James was one of three trainees dismissed by the club for their involvement in the tape. The issue was the final straw in the deteriorating relationship between the owners and Pearson. BBC Sport's Pat Murphy has learned that the 51-year-old's sacking was "definitely not a football issue". Murphy said that the Thai owners acted because they were concerned about damage to the club's reputation, while a Leicester statement said the relationship between Pearson and the board was "no longer viable". Murphy added: "There is no doubt that the image and the reputation of the club in their homeland of Thailand has been damaged by the behaviour of, among others, the manager's son James on the 'goodwill' tour to Thailand." Analysis: BBC Sport's Pat Murphy "It's been obvious for some time that Pearson's relationship with the board had been tricky - for example was he sacked or not in February? But his performance in April and May, purely in football terms, was tremendous. "But the personal baggage that he had accumulated during a challenging first season in the Premier League has to be assessed when the straw - named James Pearson - broke the camel's back. "Religion is very important to the Srivaddhanaprabha family and observers have often see Buddhist monks in and around the players area after a home match - as guests of the owners. "So clearly integrity and humility are important issues and that something like this happened on the 'goodwill tour' of their homeland would be very hard for them to accept. "But fundamentally, should the sins of the son be visited on the father? In footballing terms this is very harsh on Pearson."
Nick Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Well I'm abroad and had turned off data roaming so waltzed in at 1am and turned my iPad on to 26 pages of the manager having been sacked. Took a while to process to be honest. 1. Ta Big Nige - didn't want you back initially but you proved me wrong - I never called for your head and was happy with you at the helm having found your feet in the Prem. 2. You got a lot wrong - especially when you are the mouthpiece and public face for global business and culture. 3. Not sure we'll ever know the full details but I hope we get a quality manager in sharpish.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Everything is shit! I thought Pearson would be here for years to come and make us into an established Prem team. I don't want us to be chopping and changing managers every six months. He brought stability and belief. I'm off to find somebody else's dog to kick (joke...)
Callabinho Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Everything is shit! I thought Pearson would be here for years to come and make us into an established Prem team. I don't want us to be chopping and changing managers every six months. He brought stability and belief. I'm off to find somebody else's dog to kick (joke...) The owners are putting their values and beliefs first, clearly can't be seen having a manager in charge who's son does what he did. I fear this has totally damaged the club.
J.Lisemore Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Its just so damaging in so many ways. Even players like Vardy, that we haven't even mentioned yet, are going to disillusioned by this. Pearson is more or less his mentor, the reason our squad made that miraculous recovery last season was all down to team spirit. I highly doubt that will stay intact now. Get some money on us to be relegated, while the odds are still pretty high. Coral 9/2.
Callabinho Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Well this is a ****ing brass decision, let's just hope their next one is the right one.
harpendenfox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Sadly if Nige disagreed fundamentally with the decision to sack his son, and let that be known, it is inevitable that the working relationship would disappear. Sad to see him go, but I think those players had to be sacked. Not sure why Pearson junior was even on our books in the first place.
bluebeau Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 According to Sky Sports News, the bookies make Sam Alladyce favourite to be appointed as Nigels successor. If he does become City's new manager, then God help us. Look forward to boring, play 'not to lose' football. He has to be the most boring manager in football. Really shocked at the news & sad to lose Nigel. My choice to replace him is David Moyes, There is no doubt that the players played their hearts out for Nigel. The incoming manager will have a battle to get the players to show the same fighting spirit, as they are all Nigels players. How will Huth, Schlupp, & the Japanese guy feel? They have just signed contracts & now the guy they thought they would be playing for has gone! We all wanted Cambiasso to sign a new contract as he is such a great player, but I doubt if that will happen now. Goodbye Nigel, thanks for what you did for City & good luck.
David Hankey Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Whatever is said about 'Big Sam' he'll win more games than we did last season!!
bluebeau Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Put your mortgage on City being relegated, the bookies are rarely wrong. They predicted the Nigel would be the 1st Premiership manager to be sacked even though I doubt they saw it coming so soon & in the manner in which it did.
