The Horse's Mouth

Pearson Sacked

Recommended Posts

That is a rumour that i heard back in Easter that Cambiasso, representing the players, went to see NP with another and express concerns with formation and players. now this rumour was around before we went on that amazing run. Why Albrighton wasn't played from the start was an absolute mind boggling conundrum. Now, if that was the case, it makes sense that the owners had their reservations about him. NP is recalcitrant, arrogant, argumentative, stubborn, a bully, and slow to adapt. You can get away with those attributes when you are SAF, but maybe he just rubbed the owners up the wrong way too much. I am inclined to believe that Camby did go and see NP. maybe that is why he agreed terms with teh club 2 days ago but hasnt signed...maybe he will sign now that NP has gone...maybe he will have a coaching role...who knows.

So if NP is 'recalcitrant, arrogant, argumentative, stubborn, a bully, and slow to adapt', why on earth would he even entertain someone like Cambiasso basically telling him how to manage his team? Ludicrous. He's either an arrogant bully, or Cambiasso's secretly running the team.

It can't be both.

It definitely can be neither though.

Well Birch said Cambiasso sat in the canteen drawing up a plan for the last ten games - that we know happened

He sat making a plan of where we could get points, not drawing up some kind of tactical master plan.

I don't think so, in terms of quality we would have gone down without the togetherness of the players under Pearson

I disagree I don't think there was any evidence of "togetherness" for the first 28 games. We were slowly becoming a shambles until Huth came in and sorted out defence out. Rumours that Cambiasso was basically running the show feel more realistic now. Pearson even saying he had no idea how our form had changed gives you a big clue as to how important his impact was.

Listen it was a great turnaround, but that's all it was. It wasn't an especially successful season, Pearson didn't get the best out of his players, he got his tactics wrong more often than he got them right, and he did some weird shit off the pitch.

Says in today's Independent Newspaper that Nigel Pearson was sacked by telephone call with no prior warning.

Then the Independent should get done for phone-hacking, really.

Yeah, a number of places have reported that to be the case. Disgusting treatment of a man who has brought millions in capital value to the owners. Appears that respect and that thai's values are only an issue when it suits.

Do Thai values include not using the phone to sack people then?

What if they are in Thailand?

It's nonsense from last night's daily mirror article. They haven't a clue there just guessing.

As for sacking him "without warning", that's pretty normal. You don't warn someone they're going to be sacked one day and sack them the next, you just sack them

I'd hope they're not in Thailand making decisions like this. Should they be I'm sure one of the other board members are capable. Vichai has two sons on the board as well as Supornthip and Susan Whelan CEO all capable of conducting the affair with a touch more class.

The amount of conjecture on this thread is astonishing, even by FT standards.

It's done, and yes it's s**t, but we'll probably never know the full reasons behind it.

Those saying we're doomed, consigned to relegation are talking out of their respective arses. We're still a Premier League club, and we've got a whole season to look forward to... We know how much can change over that time, and who knows where we'll be in twelve months.

Crikey... It's never, ever boring being a City fan.

Kinell, woke up this morning, decided to check if we'd signed anyone and discovered this. Strange that the owners didnt sack him at the end of the season if that was always their plan. Must be related to the incident.

Are you not allowed to make decisions in another country?

I've followed City for 40 years and have seen some shocks along the way ..... But this has to be the biggest shock of them all.

Whilst I wasn't a massive fan of NP for a good while he'd completely won me around with the last third of last season and I was looking forward to this season with him in charge .... we seem to be signing really good players and it was all going so smoothly .....

I'm in shock!!!

Completely with you here Waller

Thought my mate had done a photoshop job when he sent me a picture of the news last night. I'd been on BBC Sport website 45 minutes earlier and seen nothing of the sort so had a laugh at him and said you're not fooling me with that one youth.

The laughter didn't last long. What a blinking shame.

Nige, Top here. Just so you are in the loop, I am thinking about sacking you, going to sleep on it and discuss with the rest of the board tomorrow. Stay by your phone pal....

So basically a combination of the two things in life that I hate most have resulted in the man responsible for making something fantastic of our club being sacked.

Religion and stupidity.

I know it's the owner's club but I couldn't give a rat's arse if their imaginary friend in the sky disapproves of something a young fvcktard did with a camera and his weapon.

What a waste.
