RowlattsFox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Not seen a single comment from any of the players on social media since the news broke, is that strange?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Well seems what happened in Thailand had a big influence in the owners decision to dismiss Pearson... Truly could ruin us if the next appointment isn't spot on, doubt I could hate three players more ... they have really caused huge upset and friction which led to all this...
J.Lisemore Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Not seen a single comment from any of the players on social media since the news broke, is that strange? I'm not one to keep up with this social media lark but I would say nowadays, that's pretty strange.
Nick Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Not seen a single comment from any of the players on social media since the news broke, is that strange?Strangely professional perhaps. But the players were all made to watch a film on responsible social media last night."Four Sackings and a Sex Tape." Apparently Hugh and Channel 4 are all over it.
GaelicFox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Its just so damaging in so many ways. Even players like Vardy, that we haven't even mentioned yet, are going to disillusioned by this. Pearson is more or less his mentor, the reason our squad made that miraculous recovery last season was all down to team spirit. I highly doubt that will stay intact now. Get some money on us to be relegated, while the odds are still pretty high. Coral 9/2. Nope it was because we attacked Where was the team spirit in oct/nov/dec/jan/ feb ? Person fell upon a formula that worked , HUTH arrived and players like albrighton hot a chance
Foxhateram Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Seems like everyone at the club ate scared to comment in fear of losing their jobs. What a lovely atmosphere. Congrats top you gave just killed off next season and probably just lost us a loaf of our best players.
GaelicFox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Put your mortgage on City being relegated, the bookies are rarely wrong. They predicted the Nigel would be the 1st Premiership manager to be sacked even though I doubt they saw it coming so soon & in the manner in which it did. http://www.gambleaware.co.uk/staying-in-control/worried-about-your-gambling
roblcfc84 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Having had some time to consider this further - I think it's one of the worst decisions I've ever seen in football. Accepting that the behaviour of the three players was unacceptable, there has to be a degree of common sense applied to the whole situation. It was always going to be difficult for NP to manage a situation he didn't create especially when it involved his son. Sure the owners own the club but their primary responsibility is to the club, and to make decisions based on footballing reasons first and foremost. Whilst certain actions may not have been to their liking or damaged the reputation abroad, that doesn't change the fact that from a footballing perspective they have no grounds for dismissal, equally from a reputational perspective their first priority should be the fans in this country who have and always will support the club, and secondly the football community in this country - PL etc, and I don't think that anyone connected NP to JP actions. I am sure all parties could have reached a quiet agreement to resolve things.
GaelicFox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 According to Sky Sports News, the bookies make Sam Alladyce favourite to be appointed as Nigels successor. If he does become City's new manager, then God help us. Look forward to boring, play 'not to lose' football. He has to be the most boring manager in football. Really shocked at the news & sad to lose Nigel. My choice to replace him is David Moyes, There is no doubt that the players played their hearts out for Nigel. The incoming manager will have a battle to get the players to show the same fighting spirit, as they are all Nigels players. How will Huth, Schlupp, & the Japanese guy feel? They have just signed contracts & now the guy they thought they would be playing for has gone! We all wanted Cambiasso to sign a new contract as he is such a great player, but I doubt if that will happen now. Goodbye Nigel, thanks for what you did for City & good luck. Get a grip ....the acorn that fell on your head isn't the sky ! It's professional sport not the Greek bailout crisis And big Sam is twice the manager pearson is in every way

GingerrrFox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Part of me wants Leicester City to go down just to prove to the owners that Nigel is a class manager who deserved more than being shoved out the door because of a drunken mistake by his 21 year old son. I hate that I've been reduced to part of me wanting that by the owners of the football club I support.

Raj Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Hearing about the Denise already of next season by some folk is laughble. Some muppet on RL not renewing his ST cos of this . Support the club not the manager in charge. Onwards and upwards... COYB(But thanks for everything you did Nigel.)

Finn Claw II Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 If big Nige threw his toys out the pramover his son, then I back the board. A statement from NP would be interesting. I wanted NP to stay but the players were also dross for half a season. It's damaging but all is not lost.
Itsthejoeker Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 We do really have no idea what happened, Pearson could have absolutely lost it like we've seen him do a few times this season. We also have to remember that whilst he galvanised the squad last year, players will be used to managerial comings and goings and will respect a new manager coming in.
teblin Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Sky Reporting that he ws indeed sacked by phone with no prior warning.
ozleicester Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Its not that bad, the players know what side their bread is buttered on
Guest MattP Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Sky Reporting that he ws indeed sacked by phone with no prior warning. But our owners are apparantly all about a culture of respect
stox259 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Really disappointed to hear this news. Really thought we had some stability and real potential to go forward as a club. I thought Nigel would be here for another three years at least. Surely if Pearson was unhappy about the treatment of James then the board would have asked for his resignation rather than sack him and pay compensation. Makes little sense in business terms. I believe they have been offered another manager who they believe can take the club further than Nigel can.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Let's wait and see who comes in at least. Everyone said Southampton were ****ed. This. I'm out of the country, so maybe not heard the ins and outs of it. I was shocked, but at this stage do we know why? They've surely not sacked him for matters on the pitch, and let's face it's not out of the question that Pearson has done something daft himself once again.
Max Power Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I wonder if Pearson behaves in meetings with Rudkin and/or the board like he does in press conferences?
Staffs Fox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I am reserving all judgement on this decision until more info comes to light, There simply has to be more to this than what's been revealed. February last year we were dire, utter drivel and despite the mixed messages from the club, we ultimately stuck with him when the odds were against him (that meant someone at the club was a fan and believed in him even when the chips were down). Then after the most miraculous of escapes, if you still think he's not the man for job, you sack him at the end of May. To be 7 weeks since the season finished and then do it, just doesn't make sense whatsoever. What has changed since the end of May? Until we find out what happened and why I am not placing any blame on the owners or Nige. On a side note, I pray we have a replacement lined up because that list of candidates is utterly depressing More positively remember Nigel Atkins getting the boot at Southampton? Everyone thought they were crazy and English football was outraged. 2 years later they nearly qualified for CL. Not saying that's going happen but sometimes the Owners can see things us fans can't
bluebeau Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Get a grip ....the acorn that fell on your head isn't the sky ! It's professional sport not the Greek bailout crisis And big Sam is twice the manager pearson is in every way This news is bigger than the Greek crisis if you are a true City supporter! I don't recall the West Ham supporters demanding that the football club renew Alladyces contract! Did I imagine that he was sacked by Newcastle during less than half the season he was appointed? Unfortunately I can't remember the clubs that he was a huge success at!
