2000 years of history, King Richard the third, King Lear, Lady Jane Grey, the mighty Kasabian and a county that may be small but has some of the best country side on offer. Leicester may not be perfect but those who knock it can frankly chuff right here off.

Let's be honest, Leicester City centre is not great. Should we stay up again and then benefit from the all new bumper TV deal should the club/owners use some of the guaranteed 100 million TV money next season to invest in improving the city centre?

Partly to give something back to the community and partly because improving the city centre will help attract new players.

The city isn't terrible but it lacks any sort of focus, there is a huge amount of potential around Highcross with all the restaurants and the cinema and a nice open plaza, but it always seems empty, new walk area is actually quite nice, and the "cultural quarter" with the curve and the Phoenix has a lot potential too but all these bits are shoved out to the edges. The planned redevelopment of the market should also help but the main problem is all these areas are surrounded by shitty bits. Leicester station is quite a nice building but you come out on to a dirty great road and it looks shite. Even if they just put a few big billboards or something that says welcome to Leicester home of City and the Tigers and then directing them towards the stadia, at the moment it might as well say, "you're now in Leicester, sorry."

lol, your foooking kidding me. These wouldn't exite a Sunday league footballer. Leicester is a below average UK city in my experience.

BTW, Memsaab is lame, a chain curry house that's overpriced. I know the chain owner of the nottingham one, and my sister knows the Leicester one, nottingham one is better

Right oh good on ya shifty City and all that ...clever

Mem Saab is clean , well managed and delivers a fantastic dining experience it's a personal choice not really interested what any other Fooker thinks

wish all non-indigenous establishments had the same reputation as Mem-Saab (controversial , but true according to trading standards and City council figures)

1 - Yer mam

2 - Yer sistoh

3 - Yer aunteh

lol LOL lol

City centre is improving leeps and bounds it took hundreds of years to arrive in the 1990's mess it was , but in last 10 years the improvements have been amazing , think sometimes we forget how bad it was

But I agree 100% with your sentiments

It's not Coventry.

Great plan, we drive them to Leicester the long way round via Coventry, Stoke, Derby, the outskirts of Nottingham (gun crime capital), and finally arrive in Leicester where it will appear a beautiful paradise by comparison.

I really liked the High Cross area when I was back last week. It looks great. I think the City is continuing to improve and I look forward to seeing how it changes over the next few years when I come back to visit again!

The scenic Grand Union Canal, & River Soar, all the history about King Richard III.....(not the rhyming slang) and endless hours of plane spotting at EM Airport....just hope they'll stay around if proven to fit in well.
