Buce Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 I was hoping they'd appoint Sherwood. Sherwood is made for Forest Think of all the fun the tabloids would have with Sherwood's Forest
ARM1968 Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 If we win the league I can't see either leaving tbf. Champions League or Championship.
katieakita Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 Thought promotion was no big issue for them so Pearson won't fit the bill.
ramboacdc Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 And why would that be... because that's when he knows he can get his old team back together? Makes no sense otherwise. or...he will be in the last year of his contract and Leicester will have to be paid less compensation if he is indeed on gardening leave and not sacked. http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/250614-nigel-pearson-agrees-new-leicester-city-contract-1677381.aspx he is contracted until june 2017. so as of may 31st 2016 he would be in his final year and the cost of breaking a 1 year contract would be substantially less than a 2 year.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 This, if we actually pull this off I'd almost be at the point where I didn't care what happened in the future, I could die happy even we vanished into the non-league. Are you offering up your own bum for biting, Matt? I expect people will be thrilled that they now have a choice. Maybe not a great one, but a choice all the same
Countryfox Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 Are you offering up your own bum for biting, Matt? I expect people will be thrilled that they now have a choice. Maybe not a great one, but a choice all the same As long as you don't offer your Bellend, Sebastian.
Captain... Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 You expect a Leicester Forum not to speculate on what might happen? Not going to happen. I'm hoping, the problem is people speculate on here, press pick it up, it becomes a story. Although I've just realised I'm the first person to actually bring it up
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 Really hope this doesn't happen, as CountryFox said pretty much the last team I'd want him to go to as I think long-term they'll end up being more successful than us with that appointment. They can feck off trying to sign James, Schlupp etc as well.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 As long as you don't offer your Bellend, Sebastian. If it bought us the Champions League next season, who knows what I might have to offer
Wymsey Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 It will all come down to whether they can pay his salary, he was on a fair whack here and he's still receiving that salary. It would be a superb appointment for them though. We're not paying, his gardening leave finished at the start of the new year.
demon_dog Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 Don't give a toss where he ends up. He was ok for us but we are far better now.
SpacedX Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 Shaky & Walsh will join him... I guarantee that will not happen. It would mean that should he be appointed, Nige is reunited with Kevin Phillips though. A few days ago most were regarding Moyes as a foregone conclusion. Yet again their season has degenerated into another Candy Crush saga. Given the comedy value of this club, just be done with it and give it to Tim Brooke-Taylor...apparently team selections are now the preserve of a committee. Agree, this would be a very good move for Derby...but contrary to their claims, the fact that they have dismissed Clement suggests that immediate promotion is a priority - and that's a tall order. I'd back Pearson to bring them up next year...but t won't be the 'Derby way' (whatever the **** Mel Morris means by that).
Guest FriendlyRam Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 I'm one of the Derby fans who is begging for him to be appointed. We need a manager like him, I don't think the antics was him having a breakdown last season, I still think it was calculated and it worked a treat for you guys. He'd be one of the best appointments we've made imo and he will give some of our players a kick up the ****, and they need it, some might even be kicked out the exit door which we probably need as well. How long do you guys think Keogh will last for if he makes those howlers under Pearson? I don't think very long tbh, he's a walking disaster that bloke, his own goal against Burnley was just horrible. And we could take Vardy and Mehrez off your hands? .... nah thought not Been watching you this season and got to say most level headed rams want to see you do it, you've been a breath of fresh air.

foxfanazer Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 Would be a very good fit for both parties imo. Good luck Nige, would quite like Derby to be promoted tbh. Pearson will always be warmly welcomed to the KP from me. Massive respect for what he did here

Soar Fox Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 Strange to wait until the summer. I thought they'd want him in now with his experience they could still end up getting promoted this season. But if they don't get promoted he could have 3/4 months to have a look at who he wants to get rid off and where they need new players.

Seems like a perfect opportunity to evaluate with little pressure
Sharpe's Fox Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 Only reason Pearson won't go until summer is that Shakey and Walsh won't follow him until the end of this season for obvious reasons.
purpleronnie Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 Well they don't really want promotion so Nigel is out of the question, sounds like a great job though.
Soar Fox Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 Only reason Pearson won't go until summer is that Shakey and Walsh won't follow him until the end of this season for obvious reasons. But why not go in earlier himself? He'd have Kevin Phillips there with him, he'd have other back room staff he could make do with for 3 months. He could go in there identify himself what needs to be changed and start the work early. He's then got a whole pre season to start the re-building job.
Corky Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 This, if we actually pull this off I'd almost be at the point where I didn't care what happened in the future, I could die happy even we vanished into the non-league. If we won it this season and had a real go in the Champions League, maybe reach the quarter-finals or something, then had a few years of 6th-12th I'd take that like a shot. Don't want relegation though.
Fox92 Posted 11 February 2016 Posted 11 February 2016 BBC Derby said that nobody has been lined up or contacted as yet.
