Where Will Nigel Pearson Go Next?

Surely it's not impossible for Pearson to find a new coaching team? He won't want to stay out of a job if he can't persuade Shakespeare and Walsh to come. A new assistant shouldn't be hard to find and if all our scouting is done from statistics then surely he can promote one of Walsh's back room team?

What I find most puzzling is why, after putting 4 years of your heart and soul into a football club, would you want to leave when you're top of the Premier League to go and work for a team below half way in the Championship that you have no affinity with?

That takes loyalty to a man to remarkable levels.

What about Bolton Wanderers? Seriously underperforming for a while now, boasting a above-average infrastructure and with a decent squad on paper.

How much longer they can justify holding on to Lennon?

Apparently they don't have a penny in the bank.

If they go into Administration, which appears quite likely in all honesty, they'll have to cut their wage bill down even further and hence may have to sell.

If Pearson is still on gardening leave with us, he can be as picky as he likes as he will still be on full pay. Apparently if Wolves lose at the weekend Jackett will be sacked, could be a good one for Nige

If he's not on gardening leave he has been paid off, plus his probable seven figure bonuses for promotion and survival, so either way he's not struggling for money.

I think he could do a lot worse than reading if they want him.

I think Dan is probably right on this. It's too expensive to prise the back room staff away from City.

I also think Chairman probably think Pearson is a gamble in terms of his twattish behaviour off the field.

Either way, I did think he'd be back in management by now.

Pearson's hardly 'high-risk', is he.

He's done stuff that Mourinho, Wenger etc get away with.

That's what people said at the time

And look what happened.

Don't remember Pearson pushing opposition managers, victimising female members of staff, poking opposition coaches in the eye, encouraging smaller clubs to fire their manager, accusing all football of being in conspiracy against him, nor do I recall his sides averaging over 10 red cards per season (as Wenger's did up to 2005). But he did once call a journalist an ostrich, fall over when someone clattered into him and say 'f**k' in the dugout, which was utterly disgraceful. Thank god we got rid of him before football imploded.

You are not seriously claiming Pearson's got a worse behavioural track record than Mourinho?

If you REALLY don't think that Pearson's off the field 'wallyness' was a major contribution to him being given the boot, then I give up.

Who cares what bloody Mourinho did? Its what Nigel did that I'm talking about. It lost him his job.
