Watford The Golden Boys... Up next...

One heavy defeat and Watford could start sinking. It's very hard to build confidence and team spirit in such a short time with so many new faces, Watford have done that but how fragile is it?

Be interesting to see how good they are when things start getting tough. We have proved our steel, they have not.

Let's hope we are the ones to inflict that defeat.

Watford have had an encouraging start to the season fair play.

But as others have said. We had to put up with it a lot last near as a newly promoted club. Teams expect to beat you.

You have to earn respect, we finally seem to have earnt that.

Why wouldn't we expect to beat you at home after the start we have had. If we lose it's a setback.

As for Watford well you will survive as Bournemouths injuries have taken a massive toll.

And villa, Sunderland and newcastle would struggle to make the play-off spots in the championship at the minute.

Its interesting to see what they other fans think...and often makes beating them more enjoyable.

Theres being confident of a win and theres setting yourself up to look like a right c××t if you dont...it seems that you re doing the later.

By the sounds of it you boys are going to win the league....good luck with that.

As I say to every one of your fans that come on here with identical posts every time we play you, you're on a Leicester forum- what do you expect?

I took a trip over to yours, opened up the Leicester thread, read about 3 comments and closed. Your boys are equally deluded pal, but that's a matter of perspective. How about this... Block foxestalk from your browser, enjoy the game on Saturday, and a. Enjoy the 3 points or b. Look forward to your next game after losing.

Let's be honest, some deluded chat such as "Ben Watson and Capoue to boss the midfield" from some fat Hertfordshire-based teen or "we don't even need to turn up" from a "bin dipper" isn't going to influence what happens on Saturday.

Never known a fan base to care so much for what others think about them. Did you round up all the local insecures, give them the Internet and call them Watford fans?

Morgan own goal...

Serious point, what's gone on with Huth and Morgan. They appear to have swapped abilities.

Watched the WBA game back and aside from a couple of thumping clearances thought Huth looked very poor. The challenge on Fletcher was just pointless nd could have needlessly cost us. He looked absolute class at the back end of the last season, but it seems to be Morgan who looks like the Prem regular.

So were West Ham when we played them on Saturday. Just saying.

yes I know. my point isn't that we definitely are going to beat you, I'm just trying to explain to your fans who don't seem to understand why we are confident that we might have a chance of victory against the mighty watford.

like I said we might lose, but I'm not sure why you expect fans of a team who have outperformed every other team in England for 7 months, have the best striker in the prem at the moment, have the two most lethal players in the prem at the moment and have only lost once all season to be scared of watford?

Watford.. The Manchester City of the south!!

I'm sure our players are quaking in their boots!

The problem with coming on an opposition's forum before a game and commenting in the match thread, is that it's very easy not to know who's constantly on the windup, and very easy to make yourself look like an absolute helmet.  lol

I have never, ever in all my time browsing football on the internet ever read so much pony from Watford fans regarding their predictions for upcoming matches. The year that you beat us about 15 times including that dying seconds winner in the play-offs from Deeney was outrageous. Ok you were a decent outfit that season and played very good football and really should have gone up automatically but your fans on forums thought you were some sort of reincarnation of Ajax in the 1970's. Fast forward a few years and we're 3rd in the PL which is obviously unheard of for us given the shit we've been through in the last decade or longer, we're playing some very entertaining football and we have the two in form players in the PL in Vardy and Mahrez (Ighalo and Payet with notable mentions) so we're going to fancy our chances at home in a match against a team who were promoted last season. You'll probably find from us a proportion of fans whos till are cautious, we just can't shake the shackles off and truly believe that we're now an established PL side even though the result of the last 20+ games show we're the form team in the whole league.

I think Saturday will be a very tough match, you lot have impressed me given the level of upheaval in coaching and players and it's working. Your manager seems a bit of a shrewd operator and I think you've easily enough in you to stay up without too much of a battle. I can see either team nicking this as Deeney is bound to score and our defence is dog mess so you've at least a 1-0 headstart but we just don't know when we're beaten and I think 4-2 to us or 2-1 to you with us leaving too late to mount a comeback.

Most of the in-jokes on our forum go back to the 2011-12 season.

I get it that your confidence is high, and why wouldn't it be? The fact is that we're no longer despairing any particular matches. It's not so much we think we're going to win, it's more that we no longer fear getting trounced. We can make a good account of ourselves, even when we lose.

If you come to attack, it will make for a great game and looking forward to it even more. It will be close as both teams weak points are their defences. I think we will edge it (obviously going to say that) but wont be as easy as some think.

Ive read these posts and some of them disapoint me. Im a watford fan and i (and many other fans i know) have agreat deal of respect for you boys. You ve got a good team, you play good football and you ve done it the right way. We know you re favourites on saturday and you ve got an awesome striker in Vardy who is on fire...so we are happy to get anything out of the game. We ve started alright, which is a massive relief, but we know there is still along way to go, so are still grateful for points.

The reason im writing is that some of the posts on here are ridiculous! Ok...some posts are realistic, reasonable and measured...but so many of you think you re Real Madrid and unstoppable! You re doin well...but anything can happen still, its a long old season. Newcastle, Swansea, stoke and West Ham all thought they would sweep little old watford aside too.

Just think some of you should try bein a little more humble, more cautious and perhaps not count your chickens before they hatch. Im not just talking about saturdays result, im talking about how you do in the premier league in general.

Some of you are starting to sound like Liverpool or Arsenal fans.

Your mistake is taking a football forum completely serious... especially one for opposing fans. Your forums are absolutely no different at all, in fact I'd go as far as saying you're worse.

The reality is, of course we're going to be very confident with our form for the last half a season against a promoted team at home. Doesn't mean we'll win comfortably, doesn't mean we'll win at all. At some point we'll lose against someone we don't expect to, but you can't blame people for being confident of beating you. It's not lacking respect or anything else, it's just basing it on form.

Drinky isn't capable of scoring from 25 yards

You're forgetting this same fixture 2 seasons ago... who scored a last minute 25 yarder to bag the equaliser?

Posted

No need for that.

Sorry Ric ....   forgot to put the smiley face thing on which denotes tongue in cheek  .....    :P  ... thats the one (I think).

We should really thank Watford for not getting us potentially promoted. That squad we had after that shit run would have got less points than Derby did.

Good point about Quique Sanchez Flores, with Newcastle, Sunderland, Villa and Chelsea being shit, us, Palace, West Ham playing exciting attacking football and getting some great results. Van Gaal turning United into the dullest team ever, Klopp arriving at Liverpool, the usual hype around Wenger, Pellegrini, Pochettino, Koeman, the love in over the plucky young Brits, Howe and Neil, it's been largely over looked how good a job he has done at Watford, new team, new players, new country, new league, newly promoted team, he has done an excellent job. Quietly going about his business, letting his team do the talking.

Incidentally, that would have happened to us had we gone up. We weren't ready.
