bluebeau Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 Ya Ya Ya,....but what did the Romans do for us.Hold on a minute, didn't the Romans give us the original Leicester City F.C? They were called Fosse something, Ponsious Pilot flew in with his helicopter well before the Thai guys did. Then you've got Fosse Road with 100's of shops & Fosse Park all thanks to the Romans mate!

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 Villa must be absolutely kicking themselves. What a criminal waste from them. Great work from Leicester. The fact our left side of him and Fuchs (and Schlupp as well actually) were all free is hilarious. I think we bought the right side from SafeStyle
foxfanazer Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 he's not a fan of Nigel Pearson that's for sure!!Wait a minute....are you trying to tell me that he prefers a manager that plays him week in week out? Stop the press!
ozleicester Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 its no coincidence that our recent most successful period is since he has been starting
Guest Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 its no coincidence that our recent most successful period is since he has been starting Was a dark time when he couldn't even get on the bench after his missus celebrated Pearsons Sacking (that wasn't) on Twitter. Sense prevailed in the end and we've been great ever since. He still gets rated close to the lowest of our players in the weekly ratings which I usually flat out disagree with. Underrated. Easy to scapegoat. Great team man.
EnglishOxide Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Has he always had a great left foot? I was under the impression he was only a right footed winger when we signed him. He's very Milner-esque, but with a bit of added flair and pace.
Foxhateram Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Has he always had a great left foot? I was under the impression he was only a right footed winger when we signed him. He's very Milner-esque, but with a bit of added flair and pace. Bit harsh to compare poor Marc to a donkey like that! Albrighton has come on leaps and bounds since arriving here. I really like the fact he can put in a good quality deep cross as well as a cross from the by line. So often nowadays these show off wingers feel the need to beat the man every single time, and often lose the ball. It is so great to see players come in and progress with us. Back in 2004 through to 2008 you would see game after game that certain players or the team needed to work on something but it would never happen.
Sampson Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Was a dark time when he couldn't even get on the bench after his missus celebrated Pearsons Sacking (that wasn't) on Twitter. Sense prevailed in the end and we've been great ever since. He still gets rated close to the lowest of our players in the weekly ratings which I usually flat out disagree with. Underrated. Easy to scapegoat. Great team man. Completely agree! I feel I must've been watching a different player to everyone else recently with the ratings he got on here recently, dating back to the West Brom game when I thought he was going to walk the man of the match award and he came about 5th. Then in the last game against ManUtd I thought he was our 2nd best player behind Fuchs - he was tenacious and aggressive, constantly shutting down ManUtd's counter attacks and getting some really strong tackles in and pressing their defence as well as Vardy was. He's our most underrated player by a mile. Really doesn't get the plaudits he deserves.
Charl91 Posted 5 December 2015 Author Posted 5 December 2015 I think it's his defensive game which is the most important to us. I think he's a better defender than Schlupp.
RobHawk Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 I think it's his defensive game which is the most important to us. I think he's a better defender than Schlupp. Literally just found this thread to mention this after today's game. We all know he has a great right foot on him, but his work rate, especially when we don't have the ball, is top notch. I remember the first few appearances of last season and thinking he looked lazy and lightweight. Not anymore! Look at today, not his best game going forward, but between him and Fuchs they kept ivanovic and Willian who has been Chelsea's best player this season, completely out of the game. Really rate the lad, even when things aren't going his way from an attacking sense!
Sampson Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 He's been outstanding for a while now and has been our most underrated player all season. People criticise him for the hit-and-miss nature of his crossing but that's not his game. He's a "defensive winger" and the moment you realise that fact your perception of him completely changes. He's such a fantastic team player for us and gives the side such balance with his excellent work rate, positional play and surprisingly good agression and tackling ability for a winger, which allows players like Vardy and Mahrez more freedom. The moment you realise he's a defensive winger, not an attacking one and is more similar to someone like James Milner (but better) you realise what a good player he is. The fact he has the most assists of any English player in 2015 is just a bonus.
HighPeakFox Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 Every time he got the ball tonight, you felt something good could happen - he should be almost an auto-pick. Some fans don't appreciate him but I am certain his team mates do.
RobHawk Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 His biggest problem is he's not Mahrez! But he offers something completely different to Mahrez and whilst not as spectacular, is a key cog in the machine. His ball to Mahrez for the second tonight was world class and we know he has that in his locker. Thing is with wingers, they always have off days now and then
JerryLundegaard Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 He's got a really simple style of play, but that is what makes him effective. Get ball > get space > cross it in. He's always very decisive in possession as well. No frills about the way he moves the ball when dribbling, you never feel like he's going to lose it. Villa must be kicking themselves!
fuchsntf Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 Its his job to get the crosses in...he does that in abundance, he consistently, hits those dangerous areas. Quite a few times through the season and tonight, he was spot on, defender clears it, that we can accept, but even Vardy and others coming in are not getting their runs, in or knock it over the bar. Its not poor crossing, unless it goes behind or too long, his strikers are just not hitting or getting to thst spot. Shankley and Cloughie used to say there is not such a thing as a poor cross, the winger/player has done his job if it lands in the danger area, hes busted his gut, now others have to get there. Fair quote I reckon.
Clever Fox Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 He's the quality player I always thought he was. Now he's added consistency to his game. He plays like and old fashioned Left Half Back. The ground he covered tonight was astonishing. He was defending in the Box then popping up on the Wing stretching the Chelsea defence. Yet he still had the desire to get himself into a few central shooting positions. All round a brilliant performance. an easy name to put on the Team sheet. Well done Mark, You should be a cert for England.
Dickov22 Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 Just behind Wes for man of the match I thought. Very good from him again.
Ric Flair Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 He was very good but frustratingly there were two opportunities to get the ball in to Mahrez and Vardy with acres of space and they went harmlessly in to Courtois hands. I know it's nit picking but it's the standards him and the team have set.
Fox 4 Life Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 His running with the ball is brilliant, great outlet. Was very wasteful at times though.
FireFox Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Some great quotes in the Mercury "Yes, their [Vardy and Mahrez] dream must be to play for one of the biggest teams in Europe, as every player's is, but why would you want to leave this club at the moment. "It's building something special. We are establishing ourselves as a top-four team and they are a massive part of this." "Everyone is waiting for is to slip up or whatever but we are going into every game as we have done since our run started last season. "We have the confidence that we're going to win every game. We are that confident, we can't see where the next loss is going to come from.
Fox92 Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Thought he was wasteful a bit on Monday. His crossing in particular, a couple of times he just put the ball in instead of looking like he usually does. Really like Albrighton though, one of those players that will always work hard for the team.
