Leicester City v Chelsea post match thread 2 - 1

He was crap second half but I think he was just knackered, which is why shinji, who is known for and has previously been used to buzz around in the massive space we afforded between matic, fabregas and their other 7 midfielders should've been on about half an hour earlier. but we hung on so its all pretty irrelevant.

I agree, I felt for most of the game Leo was awful - a complete passenger which makes winning the game even more remarkable - we effectively played the game with 10 men.

Anyone have full match or extended highlights to download? The boy wants to watch it after school.

You only need to google "Premier League" & "highlights" and you'll get there very quickly.

I've sent you a PM.

Don't know if this has been mentioned but have you heard that clown Mourinho moaning about our ball boys!? I used to have a lot of respect for him but the cracks are really starting to show now

That's it I've reached the end of my tether, I'm sick to death of my wife getting revenge sex whilst I'm at the match!

And to rub salt in the wound you go on a public forum and brag about it!

It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'she goes like the clappers'

Ulloa stayed on specifically to defend corner and set pieces as well as hold the ball up. Good tactics from Claudio I'd say

Just about recovered from that!  What an amazing atmosphere - especially during the last 10 minutes where it was like a collective will to win the game.

You can pick a few holes in some of our players, but to me that kind of misses the point - what a team we are.  More than the sum of our parts - Chelsea are pretty much the exact opposite.

Thought Kante was excellent again. My MOTM. But i thought all the defence were superb though. Mahrez obviously excellent and scored a sensational goal, as did Vardy.

Lets not forget how good Chelsea are though. Yesterday was an excellent result. Chelsea could have easily scored more than one though, Mourinho must be wondering how they didn't.

I respectfully disagree that we lost the midfield at that point.

We lost the midfield when Fabregas came on. The introduction of Inler helped settle the midfield down.

MANFACE is having a mare if he thinks we lost it when Drinky went off. We bossed the first half completely.

albrighton does that several times a game - which just makes the dozen or so crosses out of play that much more frustrating.

So agree with this. I have to have words with myself every time he does it because he has been fantastic for us...but equally frustrating at times

They didn't because we were organised and had attitude in abundance.

Generally we contained Chelsea well. But when they did cause trouble we had bodies defending the cause and getting something in the way.

Kasper, Fuchs, Morgan all spring to mind as making important  blocks but that's what they're there for.

It's no use Chelsea bemoaning Costa's one-on-one chance either...Kasper saved it. Vardy and Mahrez demonstrated how to make the most of momentary opportunities while Costa did the opposite. "If only" doesn't count in football.

The thing about Ulloa (and people conveniently forget he's hardly had chance to become match sharp as yet) is that he demands attention because of the danger he poses himself and that means space and opportunities for others.

His partial assist for the Vardy goal wasn't luck. He saw the picture, waited for exactly the right moment to feed Mahrez and the result was an excellent goal and the vital breakthrough we needed.

Some might say that's not a lot but, in the context of the result, that move was half of what we needed to get three points.

I could use the same argument for Vardy himself.

The chance he took would probably not have been a chance for many strikers. He showed the pass he wanted, benefitted from the perfect delivery but only got opportunity to score with his one-touch volley because of his lightning pace and anticipation over a few yards.

That he didn't have many other chances didn't matter. It's the one he took that gave us the lead and the part Ulloa played, while not so spectacular, still helped fashion the outcome and that's football.

It's about people who make a difference. And at Leicester that's what we have in abundance - people who are so effective that no-one can stop us scoring and chances are damned difficult to carve out against us.

And that brief spell was because Chelsea went three at the back and we were suddenly outnumbered in midfield and under greater pressure in defence.

Ranieri spotted the problem and came up with a solution. It's what he does and why he's such a clever manager...tactically perhaps the best we've ever had.

It wasn't down to any one man. Rather it was like a move in chess. The strategic reinforcement of an area the opposition was threatening through the weight of superior numbers.

I just wish he didn't have to check back onto his favoured foot all the time. How had is it to learn to cross with both feet? Not hard at all.

I figure he would have made his counter-adjustments even earlier if he had all 3 subs to work with. Figure he held on to his 2 subs for longer because Drinky was subbed off so early.

Also, his moving N'Golo to RM was fantastic, and with merit this time!
