Just worked out that if the 3 points for a win system was applied to the top flight in the 1928-29 season we would have actually finished 3rd!

Wednesday

Villa

Leicester.

 

So one could argue that finishing second would be our greatest ever football achievement.

Irrelevant  we're finishing first.

57 mins without a shot on target .... Must be a record for us this year ?

Some character to win it after a start like that

I don't understand the 'shots on target' stats, as Okasaki and Mahrez's shots in the first half were on target?

Just thinking we've been behind for a grand total of 10 seconds of actual game time in the league since Boxing Day.

In fact, including Boxing Day we've been behind for a total of less than 25 minutes since we played West Brom 16 games ago.

On a related note, I was also thinking that we haven't conceded a goal in the first 70 minutes of a game since Everton. And we've not conceded a first half goal at home for 9 games.

Our highest point total in the prem - 55 - was passed yesterday but 28/29, 62/63 and 65/66 out highest total under 3 points for a win would have been 72 points from 42 games which equates to 67 points from 38.

 

So just 12 points for the best season ever without argument.

I don't think you can compare the non-three points for a win seasons... given the general mentality on how to approach away games during those days.
