While we're at it, let's give the entire squad the freedom of the city, honorary knighthoods for Claudio and the owners, bronze statues outside the ground of Vards and Riyad and rename the stadium to the PL champions stadium.

Guest Bilo Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 Big clubs don't need stars in my opinion. They don't need to remind everybody that they've won silverware and are a successful club. It's different in places like Germany and Italy where one star represents 10 titles, but they just look a bit naff in England. Stars above the crest are for small time clubs who've won nothing for decades in England, a way of admitting that 'we're crap now, but we were brilliant before any of our players were born.'

Akin to that iconic picture of Di Stefano on the Bernabeu pitch with his 5 European Cup trophies lined up in front of him.
