I remember when he signed... there was an interview... Think it was stringer asked him " do you think you mind the physicality of English football?"

His reaction was priceless! lol He basically just laughed at the question...

Claudio Ranieri says defender Marcin Wasilewski is the spirit of Leicester City.

The City boss has revealed he urged the club to offer the 36-year-old Poland international a new contract because he epitomises the attitude and approach that helped City become Premier League champions.

Wasilewski had limited opportunities last season because of the form of the central defensive pairing of Wes Morgan and Robert Huth, and the arrival of Luis Hernandez could also affect his chances, but Ranieri said he did not want to lose Was.

"I love Was because in December we were out of the cup and he came into my dressing room and said what happens now? I said I was very clear, it is very difficult for you to play because the two big guys are playing very well," Ranieri explained.

"I said I don't know what happens now for you. You have very few chances, but he was fantastic in the training sessions. He was stronger, he was unbelievable.

"When his contract finished I asked the owners and the sporting director that I wanted Was here because he is an example for everyone. This is our spirit. Wasilewski is our spirit."

feel sorry for him as he is on the pitch at full time wearing a tracksuit, may as well be the kit man or something.

but then i bet he's on a wedge here and could easily play elsewhere for less.

Should be chosen to start against Hull (but won't be).

Thanks! Just watched it...have to say I snickered when he shoved him in the back at the end and Suarez looked distraught.

Should get plenty of cup action and i'm sure he's getting a good wedge each week.

Can't fault the bloke - he's been great for us.

Suarez should be grateful to Marcin for giving him full service. Chased, tackled & scolded! Vintage Wasyl lol

Suarez did stop in front of the locomotive.

he would have been perfect in that MON team of the mid to late 90s. Elliott, Walsh & Wasilewski.

Brutal.

Imagine Ian Wright trying to get at Steve Walsh at the end of the 3-3 at Filbert Street and Wasyl piles in...

I can't quite believe that Ranieri told Was that he wouldn't get much game time because the "two big guys" are playing so well.

I'd have loved him here when he was in his prime. Complete legend.

He is in his prime now. Fitter, stronger, faster and more versatile than ever.

I wonder if there was a way we could accommodate Was in perhaps a 5-3-2? I think he could be a massive asset this season. There is no other way to sum that back 3 up other than "wall". You could then have the option of changing the wing backs based upon what we need  in the match, more defensive or attack minded both an easy option.
