Villa (Away) - Pre Match Thread

This is a great chance for us to go top of the leauge. Arsenal have the toughest away trip to Stoke which I doubt they will win, and Man City are going up against a good Palace side. I am confident we will win this so, I'm saying 0 - 2, Mahrez and Gray.

Again, like with any opposition we face in the Premier League, Villa cannot be underestimated despite their position. Having said that, I do still feel we can win this one though. I'm going for 0-2 us. Mahrez and Okazaki/Vardy to score.

Is that the good Palace side thhat just lost to the supposed shite Villa we face?

We should beat the Team on the bottom. But then again everyone thought that at the end of last season and we all know what happened then. We just need to be wary of Banana skins like this one and it's all about attitude. Approach the game in the right manner and we won't have any problems. Approach it like we've already won and we could come unstuck.

Come on Leicester keep the dream going.

Going to be sat in the Villa end with my best mate (Villa fan).

Can't wait.

He sat with me at our 3-2 win at our place earlier in the season and he looked like he was going to jump off a bridge after the game.

Hopefully similar scenes this time...  :D

No game in this league is easy at all. If we apply ourselves and do the dirty work we will win because we will keep another clean sheet. If we roll up thinking we just have to turn up we will get beat. Same team as Wednesday, lets go top.

Stat time

Leicester City came from two goals down to win for only the second time in their Barclays Premier League history in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

There have been five red cards in the last seven Premier League meetings between Aston Villa and Leicester.

Aston Villa have won only four of the 19 Premier League match ups with Leicester (D8 L7), but they have won three of the last four at Villa Park (W3 L1).

The Foxes have kept three clean sheets in a row in the league for the first time since May 2015 - they've never kept four consecutively in the Premier League.

Aston Villa are looking to win back-to-back league games for the first time since May 2015, both of which were home games.

Leicester have already claimed two more points this season (43) than they throughout the entirety of last season (41).

Aston Villa have scored just five first half goals this season, a league low. They've not scored earlier than the 40th minute in a Premier League game since September (against Leicester).

Since scoring in 11 consecutive Premier League games, Jamie Vardy has managed one goal and six shots on target in seven matches.

The lowest points total for a Premier League side after 21 games and still avoid relegation is 12 points set by West Brom in 2004/05; Aston Villa have 11 points.

N'Golo Kante has made the most tackles (85) and interceptions (83) in the Premier League so far in 2015-16.

Draws at home are no good to a team at the bottom at this point of a season. They need 1.5 points per game at the very least.

Once we score their heads will drop, the Villa fans will get on their backs, and we can pile on.

"We always shit on the Villa..."

I'd love to be positive but many years of mediocrity lead me to believe this'll be like the FA Cup game last year! :(

Following their first league win in five (!) months, they'll be up for it, no doubt about it. They've gotten a lifeline with those three points against Crystal Palace and will make sure to cut down on the deficit with regards to 17th spot.

It won't be easy. If we invite Villa to attack and strike back on the counter, we could seal this early on. But I don't expect the home side to surrender that easily.

Caution recommended. I do hope Vardy is finally back to his old strength, otherwise it could be a long afternoon.

Teams downfall playing against us this season has been their thinking 'oh it's only Leicester'. In reality only Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Liverpool have changed their game, to try and nullify us. I was re-watching the Norwich game the other day and they were passing it around in their own box.. Hahaha, Shinji and Vardy were loving it.

Anyway my point is, I hope we don't make these same mistakes and think, 'oh they are bottom, this will be easy'. We will be in for a big surprise!!!
