Guest Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Remember reading somewhere, our players missed out on bonus for top 4 finish, as it has to be agreed before the season starts, under premier league rules, how true that is, I don't know. I thought for sure that they added CL bonuses sometime around December?
MrSpaM Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Been told the only bonus is for staying up or winning a cup. We have no bonus for a league win or Europe through a league position. No one at the club seen us finishing that high up this season. I was under the impression that conditions were usually written in players contracts when they sign, regardless of how far fetched they may be. For example Fleetwood, if they were clever, would have had a clause in Vardy's contract to say if he played for England they'd be due a chunk of money from us, which nobody thought would happen when he signed for us. Granted I read this in 'The Secret Footballer', so it may be completely off the mark

It wouldn't be too outlandish to imagine the players have something similar too. Granted I read this in 'The Secret Footballer', so it may be completely off the mark Vardy had a clause in his own contract of a pay rise/bonus for getting an England call up if the stories in the papers were true. The owners, I'm sure, can offer extra incentives though...Think of it a much larger scale 'Ranieri takes players for pizza after keeping a clean sheet' kinda thing.
STUHILL Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 The other thing to consider is his age. At 23, 19million or whatever we end up paying is a lot but we have also offered 10 million for a 29 year old, who's value will most likely only decrease as the years roll on. At 23, and captain of his country, Musa's value is unlikely to drop dramatically. It may even increase as he reaches his prime years. He looks an exciting talent and if he helps us finish top 4 or even win the league, then it will be a risk worth taking. I would prefer to spend an extra 10 million on a player and take this rare, maybe once in a life-time chance of winning the league, rather than worry about if we got value for money a year down the line...
simon789us Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Anybody really know this guy never seen him play so don't want to comment in Claudio and Walsh we trust

You mean he might fork out for gelato for dessert as well as the pizza, plus a couple of bottles of Proseco if we win the league?

No one at the club seen us finishing that high up this season. It's like last year, there's a bonus for every position starting from 17th.There's a mention last year that final win against QPR was worth £x million in bonuses as it saw us higher up the table.

Versus for the players written in their contracts?
FoxFossil Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Hope scouts have seen him live - all of his You tube 'highlights' videos look to be reversed to me - so can't tell if he's left or right sided. Or does all Russian writing look like this?
Babylon Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Only been watching for about 5 minutes, but he's fecking rapid. Some nice touches and layoffs as well.

MPH Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Only been watching for about 5 minutes, but he's fecking rapid. Some nice touches and layoffs as well. Okazaki on speed! I don't think we will be spending 15mill + off some youtube highlight reel. Pretty sure Mike Bassett did something like that and it turned out to be the gk in the video he was buying not the attacker.
EnderbyFox Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 He's not touched the ball since I've been watching
foxes21 Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Surely he wouldn't be playing in this friendly if he was being sold?!?!

Babylon Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 He's not touched the ball since I've been watching When I've seen him he drives towards goal, lays it off quickly... certainly doesn't dwell on it. There was one very Vardy like chase where the ball was going out and everyone gave up, but he kept it in and... well it was a shit shot but the angle was impossible. You can see exactly what would attract him to us, his style seems perfect for the 2/3/4 touch counter attack into space.
foxes21 Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 https://twitter.com/PFCCSKA_en/status/692356279499649024 Yeah. Surely if he was being sold to us, they wouldn't play him this game incase of injury?
Babylon Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Yeah. Surely if he was being sold to us, they wouldn't play him this game incase of injury? They rejected the offer... so he's not being sold to us.
thybluefox Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 They rejected the offer... so he's not being sold to us. So basically you've all just spent your afternoon watching a player that will never play for us anyway.
st albans fox Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Let's be honest - if there was any chance whatsoever that anyone was about to pay 15/20 million quid to CSKA for their player, he wouldn't be appearing in a friendly Close thread. This definitely isn't happening.
Itsthejoeker Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 No happening because he played in a friendly Some of you don't half make assumptions! He's probably playing because he's hardly played a game over Christmas as they have a winter break.
ARM1968 Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Rather Musa tbf. Young. Nigerian captain. Rapid. Sell on better too.
