Rather than telling people to close a thread... just don't come in it.

Exactly. It really does take a certain kind of arrogance to not only decide - on spurious evidence at best - that a deal is definitely not happening, but also to demand that other people are no longer allowed to discuss it...

Insurance etc etc

Sorry to pi** on everyones chips

If you have an asset which someone is about to give you 20million quid for, you don't risk a deal scuppering injury for the sake of anything.

Just doesn't happen.

Only reason would be CSKA telling us that they won't sell for less than 23 and to show they're serious, they are prepared to play him in a friendly. If thats the case, I wouldn't want to play poker with them!

Alternatively we just haven't matched their valuation yet and until we do they're working on the assumption that he's staying with them, and so are trying to get him fit again after the winter break along with the rest of the squad. If we come back with a better offer, the situation may change.

The fact that he's playing today means a deal is not done yet; it does not mean a deal won't be done.

Exactly what I was pretty much about to post. How people don't get it is beyond me.

It's common sense.

The only 'common sense' that can be derived from this is that none of us know **** all other than we've had a 15m bid rejected and they've told us to come back with 18m.

Long time between now and the end of the window. If he's got a release fee I wouldn't be surprised if we go back and activate it on deadline day anyway.

Indeed!

I think we'll go back in with another bid. As he's played in today's friendly it shows that they want the valuation they've given to us or he's staying. I'm sure we'll put another bid in the will more than likely be accepted if closer to what they are after.

People acting like they know shit about anything. It's proper ****in' jokes.

Guessing at best, acting like they know. Embarrassing behaviour.

we're going in with a full valuation offer before midday tomorrow.

Late to the game in watching anything about this guy. Seems like he can pick a pass as well as finish. Definitely has pace to burn. £15M+ is definitely reasonable. Are they on their season break/finished now in Russia?

Just makes me laugh how people are like "they'd never play him if they were selling, close thread".

Pure unfounded speculation, it's laughable.

It's speculation but I wouldn't say its particularly unfounded given the fairly reasonable logic that they wouldn't play him in a friendly if they were planning to sell in the next few days.

These days I skip over the skills/goals videos and go straight to watching their interviews to see how likable they are. He seems like a proper honest and humble fella. Sign him up.
