Another fantastic win.

Another clean sheet.

Another game ticked off.

OUR fantastic team are on the verge of winning the Premier League, a miraculous achievement and FT descends into petty criticisms and bickering.

And yes there will always be elements people can find to criticise, but why just why?

I feel we should be focusing on the positives and magnitude of what we look like we're about to achieve not be this ooooooooo look at me still criticising even when we're doing this well bollox.

God help us when we're not on the verge of winning the league!

I think it's shameful and moronic and I don't give a rats ass if I get banned, over 40 years and never in my wildest dreams did I think we would come close to this and some are still picking fault and saying I have a right to my opinion and criticism, yes you do and so do I..... fkn idiotic!

It was good game management in the second half - our fitness levels were superb throughout.  By the end of it, Sunderland looked knackered and offered little resistance once going down to the first goal.

We should have had 3 or 4 by the end of that barrage, we were pushing forwards relentlessly in the end without ever looking like we were overdoing it.  Finding those corners and obvious time wasting from the back is also at an all time high.  lol

Onwards and upwards.

Watched back the analysis on SS1 after the game, does anyone on here think Souness looked a little on the angry side?  lol  The bloke is clueless as we all know but to me he looked as though he was fuming with it.  At one point Carragher was trying not to laugh at some of his points on the defending which led to the goals.

More of the same next week please - watching him squirm is priceless!  lol

Ultimately, it turned out to be a good performance. Securing all three points against a team fighting relegation, at this stage of the season and laying down a marker for Spurs ahead of their game, was impressive.

Kante was, of course, the star man. I thought that Drinky played well, and the defence were only carved up a couple of times - Rodwell's dreadful miss and Borini's effort from just inside the box that fizzed just wide.

Okazaki tries his best, and ought to have had a penalty, but he struggles to make the ball stick and to get his shot away. No one can doubt his effort, energy and commitment, but it would have been nice to have invested in a more of threat striker in the January transfer window, particularly one with a bit of height.

Mahrez didn't have one of his best days, but that could be because he was being closely marshalled by Sunderland. Gray did a great job coming on and seeing the game out for us.

We are almost across the finishing line:

West Ham - potentially dangerous. They have an FA Cup replay on Wednesday against Man Utd, so that may take something out of them. Carroll scored a hat-trick yesterday, and can be a bit of a handful, but Arsenal's defence was woeful - I'm sure that Wes and Huth can handle him. The obvious danger is Payet - keep him quiet and we should win.

Swansea  - will probably be safe from relegation by the time they come to us, so not much to play for.

Man Utd - pretty average this season. Apart from Martial, no real goal threat. Probably, at least a draw (0-0) or even a win. Other than Smalling, I don't rate their defence.

Everton - a season of significant underachievement. They may be focused on the FA Cup. Will be safe in the league, so nothing to play for.Porous, ponderous defence - just how Vardy likes them.

Chelsea - can you really see Chelsea wanting to beat us and gift wrap the title to Spurs? I very much doubt it. The fact that Terry has gone for seven City players in his team of the season says it all (unless he's hoping to get a player/coach role at the KP next season!)

Nine points from these games - surely we can get there.

Thing is with Mahrez, he was pretty similar vs Watford and Palace, he tries things which don't come off and that can be frustrating but you know he can win you a game with a bit of magic, as he did in the two aforementioned games. Today what he tried didn't come off and he didn't have that bit of magic but Vardy did. Happy days. What a team, what a time to support Leicester.

Fantastic result yet I find myself still being annoyed at the Spurs result and even more so at that cock juggling thundercunt that is Souness.

What was with all the LCFC Champions scarves today?

I do get worried that this invites Karma to bite us in ass.

I do believe that WE are in fact karma, biting the league in the ass.

That said, the scarves should be put away until we're gone and won the damn thing.

Re Mayrez...yes he isn't performing as well as he has been and some still say hes cost us points wiv his pens misses.

BUT think how want points hes single handedly gained for us,his assists, his overall season has been immense.

Rate him over the WHOLE season...would you swsp him for anyone else???

Glad despite being 7 points clear in the Prem with 5 games to go, and a stack of mighty impressive results, people are managing to either argue or find the energy to be cross with Souness. Reassuring to know that some people are always finding fault with something.

Agree with the above.......

No CHAMPIONS SCARFS UNTIL............

Also agree. The tottingham result spoiled a great weekend. Wish they'd just fly away in their thunderbirds kit, but I hate this feeling of their better goal difference. Nothing is done and dusted until we can't be caught I will continue to be cautious.

You're being condescending and self-contradictory. Sure it was frustrating that Mahrez hasn't gotten into the last two games but, so what, let's not be unappreciative of the fact that Mahrez has been instrumental in getting us to this point in the glorious exploit.

Anyone who can turn out every game in the Premier is certainly not "frail". Watch Iniesta - he never tackles - yet is integral to Barca's success. Maybe we don't deserve an artist like Mahrez - I recall Glenn Hoddle getting stick from English journalists because he didn't put himself about enough. Perhaps that's English football fans - never mind the quality, just value the tackles.

You state it like it's our right to slate players because we've 'done the time' and can put posters like MattCan in their place. I don't agree - my view is that he had something valid to state - to which the sensible response is not to try to demean them - just to disagree and write why the disagreement. What if Mahrez comes on to this forum to read what people say about him - would some of these posters actually say the same thing to his face?

Those two approaches don't have to be mutually exclusive. Who's contesting that Mahrez has not been instrumental with 16 goals and eleven assists?

Like I've said before and I'm saying it again, Mahrez can be great and frustrating. Sometimes it's either one of those, sometimes both of it simultaneously. I've also stated numerous times that fans are allowed to criticize players for bad performances and the same goes for praise when things are going the right way.

Mahrez is frail because of his physique. He's not muscular (have you seen his legs?). And you don't have to tackle in order to be appreciated for your defensive work - tracking back and narrowing down potential opposition channels also helps. Why this obsession with "defending"="tackling"? Today and for the second time in two weeks, I've witnessed a lacklustre, tired, weary, uninspired, sulky Riyad Mahrez on the pitch. And that's disappointing.

MattCan came up with the ludicrous assumption that "most people" on here "have it in for Mahrez" - a gross overstatement, to which many argued the same way I did. I then ask myself from Matt's perspective, why focusing on being critical of fans who are critical of Mahrez alone? That's obsessive. No mention of people discussing Okazaki or Ulloa in the match thread, for instance! Our fans have been critical of pretty much every player this season to some extent or another, which leads to rather fair assessments.

My response has nothing to do with being or trying to be condescending. MattCan has been a registered member for three months now and can hardly argue to know the majority of posters, in particular the more established ones, longer than most people.

Doesn't make me wrong though, does it? By all means disagree, but putting me down doesn't win you the pot..........
