Chilwell

Chillwell has a big part to play next season. Why would he go from the champions where he is settled to Liverpool not even a top 4 finish and still might not get champions league spot. Arsenal he won't get a game next season with them at all.

Chillwell will end up in a situation like Matt Mizaga at Chelsea if he leaves us. Uncertain playing time, signing with a big club in the hopes of becoming big himself.

We're the biggest in the land at the moment, Ben. Why leave this, now?

£5k extra a week it seems

I really want to keep him. Excellent young LB who will get game time next season given our more crowded schedule. With Schlupp able to cover as well I was feeling good about LB, would be a shame if we have to go out and sign another one.

Seems strange to me that nothing seems to have been done about Chilwell's future and I wonder if it is Chilwell or those around him who are pulling the strings about the future.

One thing I'm 100% sure of is that if he doesn't want to play for us and be part of the history we're making, we shouldn't embarrass ourselves trying to change his mind.

Chilwell has ability both defensively and offensively as a full-back but for all that he might mature into an accomplished international that word "might" is a lot bigger than the letters of its make-up and, right now, the lad looks eminently replaceable.

Indeed his first requirement is to develop the strength needed to make the best of his abilities because there's no way, long term, that those abilities over 89 minutes of a game will counterbalance his being muscled aside like an irritant in the other minute, at the price of a goal.

Schlupp might not always be the greatest reader of situations defensively but the only time he'd be muscled out of anything would be if it served to win a penalty or if he'd gone on a mental walkabout, concentration-wise.

As for Fuchs he needs no-one to speak up for his qualities as a left-back. They're there to be seen in our results column and in the list of player ratings since he joined us. As is his commitment.

I 100% agree with those who believe Chilwell would likely get chances next season but he's going to need to put the club before himself if he wants to be part of it. And if he thinks it will be any different somewhere else worthwhile, he's mistaken.

I think he will get more game time this year for us. Probably ten-15 starts what with progressing and the CL games taking away Fuchs. If he thinks he'll get morte than that elsewhere then his heart clearly isnt here so put a price tag on him and accept an offer. Although the problem of course is that hes under 21 so wont be counted in our prem squad or champions league squad so would increase our first team squad size...

Personally i'd like some sort of swap deal for Divok Origi as i think he would suit our style really well...

Leicester? On a Jet Plane? His dinner?

No surprise on the football side and, if confirmed, good luck to the lad. If he's as good as some seem to think, he's heading for the England team.

But right now he's got a career to build.

What, when Schlupp came in for Albrighton and he was exposed more?

I felt Arsenal away exposed him a bit but they have the talent & especially the pace to do that to anyone

Fuchs had his best game of the season against everton.

The only 'weak link' in our back four is simpson, and that has nothing to do with his defensive game.

Agreed if there is someone to replace it's Simpson.

honestly wouldnt be surprised if he was tbh, I'm sure he'll regret it like Mattock did,

grass isnt all greener on the other side as they say, i hope he enjoys the U21's more at wherever he maybe off too

Is there an actual source that's reputable reporting or has one of the many douche bags on here just wrote "leaving" and everyone's decided it's set in stone?

I'm 30 and Fuchs is the best and most consistent left back I've seen in my lifetime, not to mention the fact that he's a very cool and crazy guy

Posted

If he leaves, we'll have to buy a new left back, since Ranners said Schlupp isn't going back in left back.

All this leaving speculation is annoying.

As is the implicit "I demand absolute loyalty from all the players, although I will obviously be suggesting we sell any player that has a couple of bad games".

I'd take the 8 million and go spend the rest of my days living with penguins, but what's the club doing
